A lot of ladies in this business ARE well educated and have rather impressive CVs.  Why would they choose this lifestyle to corporate rat race?  Because they can :)

These ladies usually have another business ventures in addition to working as companions.  Can you name me another job that allows cash flow and time flexibility that allows someone to launch successful  start up?

Time and money spent on education - not everyone graduates with crazy amount of debt.  My undergrad was mainly paid for via scholarships and grants and my grad was paid for by my employer.  It took me couple of years to pay off the loans I had to take.

Time spent pursuing those degrees - I don't view it as lost time.  Knowledge obtained in grad school plus corporate experience help me to run my company.

My business = my freedom.  Anyone who  spent any time in corporate hell  learns to value it more than anything else.

Maybe it's none of my beeswax.  But I have to ask the question.

I have seen numerous Provider websites that state some variation of "college educated....."

This I don't doubt - why it's necessary to state this is another issue (is there a relationship between good sex and education?)

Anyway, let's assume that a Provider does have the aforementioned degree.

Why would you do this?  Mind you I am not looking down on it on the contrary I applaud you for catering to a sick fuck like me.

But I digress, after finishing my MBA I spent several years trying to land my dream job in the markets (wanted to stay in OH and not many positions were available).  I could not think of doing anything else after all that time and money I spent - 90% of it borrowed:(

So that leads me to the question after putting in several years of higher education:  Why would a Provider do this instead of what you spent time/money pursuing?

P.S.

For you idiotic fucking trolls this is a SERIOUS question I am intellectually curious and not dick curious.  And don't tell me anything about carrying on a conversation, blah, blah.  The MOST socially ignorant people I have met have been college educated.

Based on this post & past posts, you seem to view providers as mere sex toys who simply wait around till you call them.  Many providers have 'day jobs' and work in the 9 to 5 world just like you.  A provider I used to see on a regular basis worked full time as a program coordinator for abused women at a non-profit organization.  But you're blind to that possibility, aren't you?  She wasn't a sex toy.  She was a professional woman with a career who was raising a daughter.  She provided to make extra money.

Another provider I used to see worked in a thrift shop five days a week.  She provided on the side.

You asked providers "Why would you do this"?  It's an insulting question, your assumption being their entire life is defined by the sex trade.  So I'll ask you the same:  Why did you choose the life of a monger?  --z

college educated it seems.
But many others, known by me might have not even finished High School,
But it relly doesn't matter. I went back to school finished and got that B.S. (bull shit) degree got laid off right about the same time.  now here I'm average job, typing from my van home  whatever... No debt cause I defaulted on it.

But back to the question. They are just people like anydy else and some have college, some where home schooled, some have vocatinal certificates or whatever. some do this and that, that and this or just this. I'm glad some do this so I can do it with them or with somebody at all. Why ask why? But then what's the purpose of a internet site as this?

Highly educated does not necessarily mean likely to get a job either in one's chosen field or that will pay much more than minimum wage.  For anyone.  Nor am I saying that such education is waste of effort or money under such circumstances.

That is not to say that this is the only factor .  Some ladies may enjoy the work or like a relatively flexible schedule or being their own boss or be deeply psychologically damaged or any thing else that causes anyone to do a certain kind of work for even a brief period.  True, this particular work is both legally and physically dangerous, which could be a plus as well as a minus.

I just tend to think that amount of Money (or perceived possible amount of money) is a big factor for most people in choosing what work to do

Sounds like you are getting sensitive to getting blasted all the time. Stop posting inane drivel and people will stop blasting you. Well... maybe not everybody will, you have kind of made your bed, and some people around here are slow to forget. Still, this is a good start, there is nothing wrong with this question at all as far as I can see... and of course, you'll get four times as many answers from hobbyists as providers (myself included).

For my part, I didn't go to college with a burning desire to be "something". I went because I was supposed to, and went back because after a while I wasn't happy with what I was doing. I have two different degrees, neither of which I am using right now, and if at any point I thought someone would pay me for sex, or if London would hire me to do her lawn, I'd drop everything :-)

You call yourself a finance guy?  Seriously?  Do the math.

What's the median base starting salary of a Harvard MBA?  $120k, according to this site:

http://www.hbs.edu/about/statistics/mba.html

So that means $10k/month BEFORE taxes.  Let's say that you pay 30% in taxes (wishful thinking for a newly minted MBA grad).  That's $7k/month after taxes or $1750/week.  Or $350/day.  You are gonna be working hard for that $120k/year.

A provider who has the looks to make it happen and easily make $350/day if she really wants to.  And that shit isn't taxed.

Many providers say they are college-educated, but that doesn't mean an MBA.  Some of them are in college at a community college.  Some of them took classes at a community college.  Some of them thought about going to college but never went.  Some dropped out.  And, yes, some actually have degrees.  But when a provider says she is college-educated, that absolutely nothing to me.  I could care less.  If she is articulate, that's great.  I don't give a shit about her resume other than that.  I know one girl who is as sharp as a tack, and she doesn't even have a high-school education.  And then there is another girl who thinks she is ultra-brilliant, and she has a college degree, but she's as bright as a two-watt bulb.

It's the money, son.

Are you really in finance?

But it's also the money.  The math works out well in a woman's favor versus slugging it out on the corporate ladder.

I guess if a woman is working in finance on Wall Street and commanding $300k/year with the upside of making $500k/year in the near future, the providing thing becomes less appealing because your opportunity costs go up.

But let's be honest.  Many providers, unlike you, cannot command six-figure incomes in the corporate world.

There are many men that want someone they can connect with both in and out of the bedroom.  They look for women that are intelligent and well rounded.  Especially on longer dates, you can only have sex for so many hours and then you have to be able to enjoy her company in other ways.

Not only that, but the brain is the most powerful sex organ.  And if a woman can stimulate your mind, the rest is pretty fucking fantastic.

He rambles, and is not really looking for an answer. His question alone is degrading "why would you do this?" that is pretty rude. It's like saying to your SO "are wearing that?", after she has spent the last 2 hours getting ready.

The question is meant to illicit a negative response.

Women make more then men.

They do it because they have figured out what the rest of the world needs to...Men will pay.
They do it because the corporate world is a fucking lie...and working for yourself is waaaayyyy better.
They do it because...maybe they just like sex better then flipping a burger...
They do it because There aren't a lot of jobs for anyone to be had right now.
They do it because getting their degree was a far more interesting process then applying it turned out to be.
They do it because...who gives a fuck. Just thank your lucky stars they do it.

Hi,

There, I fixed it for you!! Your sentence structure is wrong and you call yourself a Highly educated person?? This profession is no different from any other  in the corporate world! Women who enter this profession of their own free will should not be degraded  by anyone in general & those who acquire their services like you & I, in particular! BTW, your meeting has started & you're late!! :oP

Societal assignations, notwithstanding, this business need not be the last refuge for the desperate, lazy or lascivious. It is a high margin cash business with minimal start-up costs, low overhead and an ROI that is off the chart. For some of us, it appeals to an  entrepreneurial nature, not a flaw in our character.

is it about the sex? would the women who are providers meet with strangers for sex 2,3, 10 times per week if they weren't paid? Maybe some.

The equilibrium price seems to be about $$$.5 to $$$$ per hour. Would those same women see those men if it were only $ or $.5 per hour? Probably not.

The incentive is the money they make.

For those with degrees etc, it could be the case of not getting paid what their male counterparts do and not being promoted as frequently and the biggest part, earning 3 bills and up and hour and making your own hours is very appealing.

Many have other careers but this is quick and mostly easy money. These women might have been giving it away and decided there is money to be made.

And what a great way to pay off those nasty student loans...

It could be both a combination of the money AND being an extremely sexual sensual person.

What other profession allows one to graduate without debt (which is almost unheard of for most American's) and to be explicitly sensual with someone who truly desires that? And for a lot of the high end providers that maybe see a few men a month and command really high prices, the world of actual paid companionship is really alluring. You get to be an alternate, sexy intellectual version of you, whether it be for an hour or an overnight. There is no place for Rose in my everyday life. But there is one for her here.

That's *my* .02

Of a collega degree.  It is my intention to use it after i complete my program but i could only guess that
A provider who actually has a degree would stay on as a provider after finishing her degree program because she may find escorting more rewarding in one way or another. Possibly the flexibility of being self employed and in controll of your own schedule where as a career in some fields the same flexibility would be impossible. Especially for someone just starting out and lacking experience in her field.

unless you have 3-5 years of prior experience.  That is the boat I am in right now, and 60k minus taxes would not even pay my mortgage and student loans, let alone anything extra. I would have to work 60 plus hours a week, put my child at a public school in New Orleans, and that is just not going to happen.  It is what it is. Hopefully, in 2 years I will have gained the experience I need to garner the pay I need or get married again and have another income to help me out.

Either way, providing is not the same for everyone, nor are the motives behind it.  It's obvious many ladies work when they want, see whom they want, and charge what they can get, and that will never change. For others, they are victims of the market because they need x amount of clients per week to even keep up. Most providers I know don't even see as many as 5 clients a week, because it is truly a part time gig that would not be so much fun if it turned full time.

In short, it takes all kinds. If you knew tomorrow you would work 5 hours and make the same salary as working 40, would you not even consider such an offer? I think most people would, but I know women who would work 3 jobs and live in the ghetto before ever selling their bodies.
