Is it OK to ask a gal (you have been with one or more times)  for a reference, but have not reviewed her?

Guys, Gals your thoughts, opinions etc.

The Reference is a Recommendation from a Lady to another Lady that you were a well behaved guest.

Writing a review, is a completely different critter & has no bearing on the first.

Of course you can ask. Her response is her decision. In most cases I doubt if it would be a big deal. However , I can tell you that there are ladies who are uncomfortable booking with dudes that have no reviews under their belt

Truth be told, I have never made a review, yet I seem to have no problem passing screening. Of course my brother does have thousands upon thousands of posts on TER, which may give a bit more credibility to me than a TER unknown.

I don't see why not. I do it all the time. It should not be a "pay back" thing, just keep everyone safe.

you did not behave like a total gentleman. Otherwise its never a problem.  I agree writing a review is a different issue. Some providers prefer not to have reviews. Stay safe

Review or not, seen her once or 100 times, always ask first.  Her policy may have changed, she may need a reminder who you are, etc.

A few providers I know well have even done some screening of the potential "her" and steered me off of a provider who had some unsavory habits.

Communication is always good.

I don't see why not.  IMO review doesn't equal reference.  Or giving a reference means you have to review.  

If you saw the lady and were a gentleman, didn't stiff her donation etc etc, then you are deserving of a review.  But that's just me.  I don't expect everyone I see to review me, but have no issues giving them references should they need one.

a provider should be able to share the wealth so to speak..
Its always beneficial to both providers and hobbyists to be helpful..
