Answer: not if you haven't seen them.

You might be able to supply other personal info. Ask her if that would be sufficient instead of a reference. Most ladies will do the homework.

I will heed your advise and let you know.  Just was not sure how to build the references.  I will contact her a new proposal.  SHE is a MUST have.

My post is perhaps too late for this situation, but for others reading this:

I feel more secure when I seek the references myself, rather than get an email from some strange woman telling me that so-and-so is alright.
You should send the provider your reference's (preferably two of them) email address, website, and/or any reviews if you're feeling ambitious. Just lay it all out and leave it up to her to email them.

The ladies should ask for a brief description of the gentleman (Is he short? Tall? Balding? Anything to verify that they've actually seen him).

This is the system I've always used, and it's worked pretty well
