I have been fairly comfortable in my skin, however with the decision to stay in the biz and make a mini-career of it (I'm also a regular working gal in the professional world that is non related to the hobby), I have been considering making a business move of getting implants to enhance my perky B's to a C cup.  As you can see, I don't want anything drastic, and I want them to look as natural as possible.  My question is:  Does anybody have recommendations for a plastic surgeon who does excellent work and keeps the boobs looking natural (the internet is swamped with surgeons and sites)?  Some of the silicone jobs, I'm not impressed with because they look too fake and after a while of surfing the internet, all the boobs start looking the same.  (No offense to those who prefer that look, to each's own.  I just want a tad bit larger version of my own set) I am willing to pay extra and travel if necessary, so any info would be greatly appreciated~

I have an ex-girlfriend who was dissatisfied with her breast appearance.  Her natural size was a high B to a low C when she puts on weight.  When she was young, she regularly did not wear a bra (she is fron Europe), and she believes that this caused her breasts to prematurely and excessively sag.  At 45, she decided to get implants in the hope of putting some support in place and shaping herself more "naturally".  Now, me myself, I HATE implants of any kind, and I thought she looked fine for her age and dissuaded her strongly from doing it, but she wanted to do it, so she did.  She was very specific with the doctor about what she wanted, was told she would be given the smallest implant possible, and got it done a year ago.

She immediately swelled up to a DD, but was assured that the swelling would subside.  It only went down slightly, and now she is at a high D- low DD, and hates them.  She has been told by the doctor that taking the implants out again would
leave her with so little support that she would sag much more than before, and she doesn't want to take the chance.

My point in this is make sure of what you are doing, check with actualy cases as to how it might affect you, and know that this is not an exact science.  I think that there are many, many men who would think a perky B is just great or prefer smaller breasted women (like myself), and think that what you do with "them" (i.e., sexy bras, nipple arousal, whatever) is more important than size, and that there are "average" breasted providers who are the best providers in the business.  However, there is no denying that there are many men who gawk at larger breasts, so it will always be a conflict.  If you do it, best of luck, and I hope that you are happier with the outcome than my friend.

I agree with the last post.

Make sure you really want them because as they say .. always a chance with any surgery .... etc.    Not sure how it works with providers ... but I know that there breathes no stripper that hasn't recovered her investment in weeks.

As far as types go ... silicone is back, under the muscle is probably the best looking ... but they can do saline from a small incision in the belly button.  And there are new types out now that don't look like a flat pancake when you hold them in your hand, (like previous ones did) but are in fact tear-drop shaped to enhance that natural look.   They even have INFLATIBLE ones now  (and no ... not via a basketball needle) that they fill LARGER than you want initially, to help stretch the skin, then they deflate a tad bit to restore that natural fold under the breast.

Yes .. plenty of recommendations ... but where are you located?  I know two very good surgeons in Los Angeles and I'll give you their names via Email if that will help.

Have to agree with the two previous posts...for me it's the Lady that is attached to the twins vs the twins that are attached to the lady. Good luck which ever direction you go.

It could cause nothing but trouble as you get old.  My step-sister did it 13 years ago.  She went from board to B cup and it has caused her nothing but heartache and pain.  She has since had them removed but they affected her when she had kids (swore she would not have kids 13 years ago) and what little breast she has, does not look right in a swimsuit.  She used a well regarded surgeon in New York and paid a small fortune...both times.  I am sure that techniques have improved since the late 80's, but why risk problems without good reasons.  If there is nothing wrong with them (I.E. you do not have to have one removed)  Use gel inserts if you want to look bigger around town, otherwise, leave the ladies be!

I'm not particularly a breast man, but being single and middle-aged in Southern California, many of the single women in my age group have the money, and also the desire, to enhance their breasts.  As a result, I've dated many women in the last dozen years who have had the procedure.

The earlier women all had silicone, the later ones, saline.  Here's a newsflash- they all loved them, none of them had any problems or complications, and they all said they would do it again.  That's covers a range of women from secretaries, to the wife of an OB/GYN (I didn't date her, she's a friend), and a woman with a Ph.D in Health Psychology.

The key is to have realistic expectations (you already do), and to find a reputable surgeon (the most important factor).  You need a very experienced plastic surgeon who has done hundreds of these procedures, not a dozen on the side.  Surprisingly, the specialized training requirements to perform some plastic surgery isn't as great as one might think.  Most surgeons are competent and consciencous, but a few slip by, and they cause 95% of the problems.  If you live in a smaller town, make the trip to the big city and get an expert.  Don't be the third procedure performed by the guy in Cedar Rapids who wants to get started in the business.  Save your money, go with quality.

Despite the rap against silicone, it is saline that is famous for making breast appearance look hard.  Silicone flows and looks more natural, saline is water in a bag and it's less viscous and compressible.  The situation is made worse for both types if you go too large.  If there isn't enough breast tissue to cover the implant, it looks very fake- typically, like it's about to explode.  The porn star look (a big set of tits, fast and cheap, so the girl can get some roles) is what has given breast augmentation a bad name.  Some of what you see on video is sad, especially some of the girls from European countries where the experience level is less.  I know literally dozens of civilan women in Southern California whose breasts both look and feel great.  Some of these women have had their implants nearly 20 years now without problems.

The other breakthrough, as you no doubt have learned from your research, is the submuscular implant which is the only way to go at this point.  The addidition of muscle tissue over the implant, not only gives it a more natural, smoother look (due to a thicker covering of tissue), but it also means it will never sag.  When implants were first used, the implant was placed directly under the skin, and skin being what it is, eventually it would sag under its own weight.

The only other consideration- and this is between you and your surgeon based on many factors- is where the incision would be made.  I've known women who have had under the arm, bellly button, and under the breast.  I don't personaly know any who have done around the nipple (my least favorite due to the inevitable scar in the most noticeable place).  Of the types I mentioned, the under the breast scar was the least desirable.  It's almost impossible for a surgeon to precisely gauge the line of the new breast, so hiding the scar in the fold of the skin is nearly always hit or miss.  I've seen some that were off by an inch or more, and with the bigger implants favored by the porns stars, there is no fold at all.  I just don't think it's the best way to go, but it is the easiest, which is why it's done.  But this gets back to finding the most skilled surgeon possible.  They can perform the more difficult procedures with excellent results- there's no excuse anymore to have a big scar.

Finally, after all the scare and hysteria regarding silicone, several long-term studies have now failed to find a connection with silicone and all the things it was being blamed for causing.  Cause and effect can be difficult to determine, especially in medical situations.  Nobody denies some women had symptoms, but the issue is whether they were caused by implants.  My sister had all the same symptoms and her health sucks, but she's never had implants, smoked or drank- so you have to keep your wits about you in these matters and not be ruled by fear and emotion.  Silicone is being re-introduced in the near future, but I don't think it's available yet.  Your doc will know the details and what he wants to use.

For some reason, the subject of breast implants is like the subject of child birth.  Everybody wants to tell you about a friend of a friend's cousin and her horror story (witness this thread).  People seem obligated to hunt down pregnant women and scare the shit out of them for some perverse reason.  Well, most childbirth, and most implants are non-events despite the myths and urban legends.  My friend with the ob/gyn husband wouldn't have gone ahead if he'd thought there was a risk (it was she who wanted the implants, he was happy with the "A" cups).  Just keep a cool head, do your research and enjoy your new look.  I hope that helps.

And the vast majority went well.  My point...if I have one (LOL) is that bad things can and have happened so why open yourself to unneccessary risks if your breasts look just fine.  On the bright side, my step-sister did get a hefty amount of money from Dow Corning a few years back.  Still, it took a few years and thousands of dollars.  I know she does not think it was worth it.  Not trying to promote FUD (Fear, Uncertaintly and Doubt).  Just stating a little of what I know and a little of what I believe.  The key word being "little" ;)  Of course, its your body and your choice.  If we where afraid of risks, we would not hobby, now would we?

and think that you shouldn't do it at all, BUT if you do please get silicone .... Saline look awful.. and silicone is legal again and as the guy said above; they never did back up most of the bad stuff they said about silicon... and I feel (just MY opinion) that it's actually safer than saline...

Good luck, but really you should leave your perky B's be!

An excellent post by counterpoint.  check out the ASAPS site (surgery.org), as it is the most prestigious of the professional board certified plastic surgeons.  You can get a great video from the extreme makeover doc at NakedTruth.com which covers all your options.  You can also check out a lot of articles at a commercial site, iEnhance.com.

the FDA is about to permit silicone again to several manufacturers (Mentor and Inamed chief among them) after studies the last 10 years failed to make the link.  Silicone feels more natural than saline, but you will have several choices: shape of implant (round or teardrop), under the skin, under the muscle or a combination of both (currently the most natural looking choice), and the incision site.  Round implants give you the look of more cleavage, but also the look of a boob job; tear drop look more natural, so long as you don't go so big as to be disproportionate.  the Cs you want will be fine either way.

for the incision site, check your surgeon's before and after photos.  Most are comfortable with only one of the choices, so if it matters to you discuss it with them.  if you have keloid skin (scars show after healing), then under the arm is a consideration.  belly button incisions mean a long healing time, because the doctor moves a lot of tissue to get the implant in place and carve out the pocket for it.

Reinfection rates are lower all the time.  check your surgeons rates.  And make sure s/he works with the same anesthesiologist, as that makes a big difference to you (you don't pay them to put you to sleep, you pay them to wake you up!).

Good luck.

I say be happy with who you are! There are men who like a smaller breast, and men who like a bigger one. I am pretty sure that you are beautiful the way you are :)

Take into factor here: You can't run with the big ones (TRUST ME) and it's hard sleeping on your stomach (if that is your favorite position). I envy small breasted females at times, for they can wear a halter top! :) Don't get me wrong, I love my triple's, but they can be very frustrating at times. If I seen a pic of your breasts, I would probably die to have them :)

I hope that you think carefully about doing this procedure. I actually do know of one person who had it done some years ago, and now she regrets it for the various reasons listed by the posters above. God Bless you.

Mel :)

I've posted this before:  There have been studies that show that women get implants for the way they look dressed while the men in their lives are more concerned with how they look and feel without clothes.  For the most part men do not like the look of implanted brests because they think that they look unnatural especially when the woman lies on her back.  However Very good implants were undetected by some of these men.

Think about your future not just now.  How will these be when you are 50?  Will you need to expose yourself to more surgery? Are you really that unhappy with who you are?

As many of these posts have pointed out there are horror stories and thrilling successes.  The very most important thing is the surgeon.  Choose wisly someone with LOTS of experience.  Then realize that for every procedure and for every surgeon, there are morbidity and mortality statistics.  You must realize that for the one in 100,000 that got the serious infection and nearly died the stats mean nothing because for them it became 100%.

I know you asked about who, but think about IF real hard before you say OK.

PS.  The silicone scare that came out a decade ago was essentially mass hysteria.  Silicone has never scientifically been shown to cause any of the things that were attributed to those implants.  As it turns out, some women just get MS regardless of implants.

Georgette -

My preference is for natural, regradless of size; and, if you read thru many TER reviews, you'll find comments like "breasts
were nice, but she did have implants"  or "nice body except for the silicon," etc.

Yes folks, I know ALL CAPS is "shouting" but it's all I can do! Why on earth would you want to destroy natural "perky B's" to have a bad implant job? ...and yes, most of them are bad!

For every guy who thinks "bigger is better" there is another one of use who thinks anything bigger that "B" is too big. Also consider post-op effects on your body. I know a lady who had implants done 5 months ago. She has no feeling on the outsides of her breasts and an off center nipple but hey...at least they're bigger! Be careful what you wish for.

Everyone in the business does not have to be blond and large cupped. Just my opinion...

Thank you everyone for your imput.  As I've stated before, until entering the biz, I haven't really thought much about implants as I mainly worked on taking care of the the other parts of me (physically, emotionally, spiritually).  I feel pretty confident about myself and my talents (both in the biz and out), however this  idea has been more of a business one and wanting to expand in the market.  I'm still undecided on this decision, so for the time being I shall wait and not make any haste decisions.  I've been mainly researching all the pros and cons about making such a decision and wanted to see what the top surgeons had to offer as far as keeping a natural look as I don't want mine to look like they are about to burst.  Also thanks for all the breast shots, natural and implants, as I've got other things on my dirty mind now :)  heh
