Heather, your post wasn't up when I drafted mine (above), but they are related.  The whole issue of sexual attraction and the visual cues that trigger it are widely shared, but there are always exceptions that lie at the edges of the bell curve.  I've known guys that are wild about BBW, one guy I know married three of them!  So it's an individual preference like anything else.

That said, however, the farther away from the center of the imaginary bell curve you are, the fewer people will be attracted to you.  I'm pretty bald, some women don't mind it, but most women do.  You just have to play the hand you're dealt and not worry about media-driven ideals of male or female beauty.

As you indicated, personality counts for a lot.  The woman I loved the most was not the most beautiful I'd ever dated, but  we shared the ultimate mental connection and it was an incredible aphrodisiac.  Some guys feel that way about BBW too, for their own reasons.  My sister is a perfect example of society's negative programming, however.   When you talk to her on the phone she's the coolest person you know, but when you see her, you can only see the fact that she's 5'2" and 220 lbs.  It's not just social programming, though, as my post tried to explore, there appears to be some widely held ideas re. sexual attraction that are common to all societies.  Unfortunately, bald men and BBW lie outside the mainstream.  Maybe your next post should champion the folicley impaired.
