I'm not sure I should post this because I have been criticized as being difficult to schedule with, and not being able to keep a few appointments; however, I tend to get a lot of "no-show's" and late cancellations. It happened again tonight and I'm wondering if I did the right thing. I am an escort, by the way. I had an appointment for 8 pm; showered and got ready by 7; and thought the client was supposed to call me with a room number, so I could be there at 8. At 8:15, I was still sitting here, waiting ... I had had my cell phone on and was off-line all that time. As of 8:15, I sent him an email asking if I misunderstood - and then I went to get something to eat, as I hadn't had dinner yet. How long should I have waited? Could I have done something else? I knew the motel name, but not his last name. To make matters worse, this is the second weekend in a row something similar has happened with this same person - he cancelled last weekend and I was giving him a second chance. I've thought about charging a deposit, but am not sure that's the way to go either. Thanks for letting me vent.
Darlin, I think given this was his "second chance" at an appointment I think you gave him ample opportunity to contact you.
But you cannot fit this scenario to every situation. There are so many varaiables here. Some gents don't know exactly when they will be checked in, some have last minute plans they never anticipated. I think this guy is just inconsiderate. You can start charging deposits, but there are some gents who will not pay a deposit for whatever reason, and you may be missing out on some incredible experiences because this doof stood you up twice. I too have had my share of no shows in the last couple of years, and there is really no way of making up the time and the effort that goes into getting ready for a date. *sigh* Baby the best bet is to chalk this one up to a hard lesson and go about business as usual. I think 15 minutes to a half hour past the appointed time is more than generous when you have not heard from the guy. Some ladies don't even give that. Some ladies in Vegas don't count on appointments unless they are confirmed at least 24 hours in advance.
Personally I think you did just fine. Sorry it didn't work out, but keep your head up doll.
Mandy, loved your web site. The solution, of course, is to become an "in call" provider. Your business will increase greatly and the number of "no shows" will drop significantly. Come to California!
I do a lot of incall and have had more "no shows" then out calls and live in California (LA). They happen at least twice a week. But only on new clients so I double book sometimes and everytime I have, one will show and the other won't. Of course there will be that one time, I know.
I think it's terrible what some guys do. I suggest that you be honest with new clients and tell them you've had this kind of difficulty, and ask them to give you a confirmation call an hour or two before. You could also agree before hand that if you don't hear from him by X, you will have to consider the appt. cancelled. Maybe by bringing it up it might make them more responsible. I don't think it's wrong to discuss it.
Great advice, I agree 100%. I my self got stood up four time in the pass year and had enough of the games. Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twices shame on me. Don't feel bad, it happen to the best of us.
This started happening to me about six months ago and at that time I started getting deposits on all first dates and the problem stopped and I have had no problem with no shows or last minute cancellations.If they don't show or they cancel they do not get there Deposit back and I tell them that up front.Real Gentlemen do not have a problem with it,I may lose one a month because of the Deposits and that is a whole lot better than getting ready for several no shows.On my Policy page I have a link where they can go and put a $50.00 Deposit into my account and that comes off the bottom line when we meet. And at the end of the month there is several hundred there if I don't touch it during the month,It's like a savings account.It is so KOOL
