A long time ago- in a galaxy far far away...

I dated a lady (civvie) who had a five or six year old.   On our first date, I gave her flowers and a kiddie video.  She loved it!  An hour of peace for a single mother is better than a piece for an hour sometimes!

I guess now it would have to be a DVD....

For every guy who...

actually showed up

let me kiss him passionately

opened his heart about his dreams

told me his naughty secrets

divulged his favorite positions

let me try all the things I wanted to

suggested we go for a slice of pizza

emailed me his novel (and poetry too)

danced with me in that tiny apartment

fed Chewy a bone

stayed more than an hour

allowed me to "make ice cream" twice and three times

laughed at my jokes

showed me photos of his kids

told me about his cats

sucked my toes

wore a crisp button down shirt (and tan pants)

booked me for another city and had faith that I'd show up

brought krispy cremes

invited me to his suite in Vegas

brought me fuzzy slippers

I just wanted to say, I do feel very blessed to have had such wonderful men in my life in the hobby over the last few years. And I'm sure I speak for all the ladies when I say we appreciate you very much. You restored my faith in men after a lousy divorce and showed me that kindness, passion and compassion is alive in well. They say you have to kiss a lot of frogs to meet one prince. But there are no frogs and no princes, just a lot of good people who you can take the time to understand one at a time or writeoff each other with a label and labels are never good.

For me, there were no BMW's, no worldwind trips to France and no condos in Vail. It was pretty much scraping by, praying for rain, feeding the kids, working hard on another business to build a future and having some marvelous afternoons and evenings with great men who made me feel like a princess though in reality, I just might be a toad with good lighting.

Dumping is something that is necessary. Anti-dumping is there to balance the dumping. We are all just people and if we keep that in mind, I'm sure we can maintain some dignity for our hobby. Respect cannot be bought or sold. It is something that must be earned over time and through friendship.

Thank you Heather, for a positive anti-dump.  Some of the others were getting kind of depressing, and that is NOT why I do this or read/post here!  In reply, thank you to...

Every Lady who stayed longer than she had to because we were just enjoying being with each other.

Every woman who stroked my ego just right when the rest of the world had stepped on it with spikes.

Every Lady who sends me a birthday e-mail though I haven’t seen her in over a year.

Every woman who lets me decide to give or receive first.

Every Lady who was truly grateful for the small gift i brought, even though it was the wrong size, shape, and color.

Every woman who rearranged her plans to see me on short notice.

Every Lady who looks better than her pictures.

Every woman who kisses better than I expected, feels better, and hugs more warmly.

But especially to every Lady who has given me a part of her laugh, and smile, and heart that I can carry around forever.

I’m sure I missed a lot; maybe some others can add on to the list.  It would be nice to see this one get a lot longer than “others”.  Somehow I truly think there are more good things that keep us here than bad ones that chase us away.  If not, why are you still reading this?

Didn't hold it against me that my bathroom was messy
Or that I sometimes talk too much
Appreciated the extra time I've spent
Remebered my birthday
Brought me flowers or champagne
Allowed me to be human
Rose to the occasion even if they didn't
Understood when I messed up our appointment for legit reasons
Celebrated happy occasions with me
Gave a shit about me for real and not just for show
Made me feel like I would have missed out on alot if I had never gotten into the business
Became a true friend
TER for providing this cyber space I can't seem to live without Last but not least to my sisters in service you are all beautiful people whom I love and respect even if we've never met.
Thanks for a memorable year

Yup, Isn't it kind of funny how the simple things, such as the fuzzy slippers you'd mentioned, or the pizza, krispy kremes and the divulgence of his secret dreams/fears, or the wonderful evenings out, actually do feel so much better than the very expensive, sometimes outrageous, gifts at times?? Certainly those are wonderful too!!!
But these smaller thoughtful offerings aren't necessarily material things, they're larger expressions from their hearts .....the most wonderful of the men ;-D
