Ladies, your opinion, please.

When I first began in the hobby, I always left a tip after meeting a nice lady.  When eating out, etc. I consider myself a pretty strong tipper.  Of course, those in the food service industry do not make $500-$1000 for putting up with me for a couple of hours.

Sadly, my fun budget is not unlimited, and I realized the gratuities I was leaving was equivalent to 4 or 5 two-hour sessions per year.  Sure, I'm selfish...I'd rather get out more...so I really don't tip anymore.  The vast majority of my visits are repeats as I am very happy with the two providers I see most often.

So seriously ladies, is a tip expected?  Like a bartender would expect it?  I do still bring gifts once in a while, perhaps if I see them around Christmas or Valentines Day.  Frankly they seem much more excited opening a Birthday present as opposed to receiving a tip.  Just wondering if there is a "norm" here as I see so many conflicting views on this subject.  Thanks.

If you see an independent, most of them say, tipping is not required, but is always appreciated.

That doesn't mean that they expect a tip, I'm sure that your repeat visits are a good enough tip in itself! ;)

Ladies that work for agencies, have to pay the service a fee and
normally always work off tips.

Hope this helps.........

Another question.  Would a provider rather have a larger tip or have extra spent on a special gift?

I have almost always found as you say, a gift seems better appreciated than a tip.  Especially if the gift indicates that you have listened to her and/or done some research on what she likes.  The fact that you took the time and interest to personalize it counts a lot.  Some recent examples are the recent National Geographic photography book for a Lady studying photography and a silver hair beret for a Lady whose hair kept getting in her way.

Would a box of my favorite condoms be considered a good gift?

I don't get tipped every time either, but it's always a nice gesture. A gift from the "wish list" is always appreciated. I'd rather have repeat clients who appreciate my service but, hey, a little extra every now and then is awesome and surprising!
