That's Zin for you. Bizzie haven't you figured it out yet? It's only OK when Zin does it.

I can only imagine how different his POV would be if it were a righty trying to give the BOD to someone on the other side of the aisle.

You can take Zin out of the P&R board, but you can't take the P&R board out of Zin. Once a partisan always a partisan.

For the record, I have the same sympathy for Spitzer as I would for any other hobbyist. I would not surprise me in the least if it turned out that some of his political enemies or one of those proscuted by Spitzer in the past were behind the interest in his personal bank accounts. You do have to admit however, the man was rather cavalier in his actions for someone in as high an office as he was/is.

So apparently the complaint against Elliot Spitzer includes the following transcript between a provider, Kristen, who had just seen Spitzer and the booking agent:

"Kristen" said that she liked him, and that she did not think he was difficult. "Kristen" stated: "I don't think he's difficult. I mean it's just kind of like ... whatever ... I'm here for a purpose. I know what my purpose is. I am not a ... moron, you know what I mean. So maybe that's why girls maybe think they're difficult ..." "Kristen" continued: "That's what it is, because you're here for a [purpose]. Let's not get it twisted -- I know what I do, you know." LEWIS responded: "You look at it very uniquely, because ... no one ever says it that way." LEWIS continued that from what she had been told "he" (believed to be a reference to Client-9) "would ask you to do things that, like, you might not think were safe -- you know -- I mean that ... very basic things ... "Kristen" responded: "I have a way of dealing with that ... I'd be like listen dude, you really want the sex? ... You know what I mean."

So any guesses as to what activity Spitzer liked that wasn't considered safe? Unprotected sex? I don't really have a clue.

BTW, Kristen reported collecting $4,300 for the meeting. The escort service also required deposits in advance.

(Perhaps it's inappropriate to pile on this man's misery, but the taste of hypocrisy for such a high flown moral crusader to get caught in this way is irresistible.)

Could be he was looking for bbbj but the way her response reads he was looking for bareback everything.  She was like "Jacket on or jack it off."

Such a sad day for him.

I feel for him, he was one of my heros.

I loved the way that he tackled the crookedness and corruption in wall street.

But on a lighter note, I am betting he can rise above it and stick around - clinton got to stick around after Lewinsky ... why can't Spitzer ?

He messed up & got caught.  I for one won't chastise him for seeing the occasional prostitute.

From the other side of the nation, he seemed to do a fine as attorney general.  I dunno about the governor thing, but he can't be any worse than the one we have in my state.

There's always some irony when a guy in power gets caught doing something he's not supposed to be doing, but I find it tough to be happy about this one.

find this a non-story - it affects few - and most important - knocks out any good the guy actually did do.  The press gets into a feeding frenzy and creates this issue... much as they destroyed the lives of the Duke Lacross team.  What did that accomplish?

our press needs to have it's feathers clipped...

And lets face it... at least Spitzer (from the pics on the web site) picked better than Clinton ever did...

but how would you verify him??? NOW that must have been an amusing conversation...

Governor Spitzer (GS) - "Hello, I, um, was wondering about meeting one of your lovely ladies..."

Escort service (ES) - "sure, but we will have to verify you first"

GS - "um... ok if that is necessary"

ES- "It is - who do you work for?"

GS - "um... well, I work for the State of New your"

ES - "I see, and are you in law enforcement?"

GS- "yes, but pay no attention to that..."

ES - "Well, we have to be careful... what exactly do you do working for the state?"

GS- "Well, um, I sorta run the state..."

ES - "Oh, your Mayor Blumberg"

GS - "NO!!! I am Gov. Spitzer!"

ES- "who?"

GS - "Govenor Spitzer - the govenor of the state..."

ES- "Is there someone there we could call to verify your employment"

and so on until....

ES - "so this is a 2 hour appointment - with you"

GS - "Well, me and my bodyguards..."

ES- "and how will you be paying for this evening?"

GS - "With the taxpayer's dollars!"

Bwahahahahah!!!! EOM

I'm afraid he will resign and maybe even face criminal charges.  I like and admired his work with wall street corruption. I actually thought he would eventually be president. One of the flaws of being human is a tendency to find satisfaction in the suffering of others.  I feel compassion for the man and for his family.

If you read Wall Street Journal from last week, you would see that Spitzer
had caused more damage to small investors, pension funds holders, and retirement fund holders than he did to the large shareholders or company executives.
The guy thought he was above the law. I feel for his wife and family, but he is about to get a taste of his own guilt by press methods. Serves him right. I hope they throw the book at him.

Clinton did not pay for sex .
Spitzer will resign as soon as he gets a guarantee that he will not get prison time.

I'm guessing he was looking for BBFS.

I feel sorry for the poor bastard though. Hypocrisy aside. The American public basically asks to be lied to, and because politicians are human, they oblige us. For anyone involved in his career to advocate legalizing prositution would be comitting career suicide. Likewise for most politicians if they came out of the closet and admitted they were gay. Its fine for Barney to be gay, but most Congressmen would lose re-election if they fessed up. So they lie. Politicians are human, they are gay and straight, they cheat on their wives/husbands, they solicit sex for $$, and because these politicians are required to live up to a standard no average American would be willing to live up to, they lie.

My thoughts on this latest scandal revolve around the agency. Yet another agency is taking down the men that made the agency money hand over fist in order to save their own ass. This will just make screening that much more difficult, and put providers at greater risk for psychos who refuse to provide any screening information. In this case wiretapping was evidently used as well, but it appears the agency is also cooperating with the authorities as well.

Not because I think indies wouldn't give me up if enough LE pressure were provided, but that the agencies are more likely to be the target of LE. It's a lot of trouble and expense to bust one girl if no one in her building or neighborhood is complaining.

They were way too high profile for their own good. They were charging outrageous amounts of money which probably led to a great deal of suspicion from the banking world.
While the state and federal authorities may well target larger agencies it is because of the revenue being generated. Also, this particular agency required deposits which necessitated record keeping to some extent.
I use a couple of agencies in Boston that hold onto nothing as far as customer info once the appointment is over, they also don't take credit cards or ask for deposits.  They are more discreet than some indie ladies that I have seen. The hobby is not without risk but I believe that once you become as big and as "secretly" out-in-the-open as the Emperor's VIP club was you are simply asking for trouble. This, in it's own way, is no different than the idiot internet street walkers on Craig's List who operate with so little discretion that they are destined to get busted.

I hate the fact that this idiot has brought undue attention to the hobby.

as unfortunately he was kinda harsh on the sex industry in NY...  crimpin their style as it was...

goes to show... watch out... someone is always watching.  and that is creepy....   but I have just seen too many brought down... over what?  nothing... while major crimes go unpunished...  See my rants on the P&R board on the crimes committed on IVY LEAGUE campuses...  now there is real crime...

Rocket Fuel is not for losers!

Can anybody find out if he did?

The words of his apology makes me wonder if he even thinks prostitution is wrong per se. Though he broke his matrimonial promise to his wife.

He seems so far as I could tell to be the average democratic liberal politician. He prosecuted crimes of avarice, not so much sex crimes. As a platform, Republicans are concerned about lust crimes, and not about greed crimes, Democrats are just the opposite.

So, without more info, I don't feel he was more deceptive than any other married guy in the hobby.

"His cases as state attorney general included a few criminal prosecutions of prostitution rings and into tourism involving prostitutes."

what do you expect ?

Of course if you are the attorney general you are going to have to prosecute some prostitution cases in your tenure.

Not me!  Z and me - go wayback....  wayback...  His posts cause me to respond to his poor prep for posting... sorry.... but I agree with you - common sense... would tell you that the AG of the STATE OF NEW YORK (Hello!!!!) would prosecute prostitution...

yeesh.  PLEASE don't tell me you have me confused with Zinaval..... PLEASE!!!

-- Modified on 3/10/2008 3:20:47 PM

I, sir could NEVER make that confusion.

-- Modified on 3/10/2008 3:37:28 PM

Honey,

I confuse everyone with everyone on here.

- you men dont have web sites or reviews that I can go look at to differentiate you guys -

just some weirdo name that is called a handle

Bear with me please - and yes !!!!!
sometimes I post in response to the wrong post.

NONE of that is changing anytime soon.

. . . thanks for the rank, poison response, where you didn't have a fact right in front of you correct.

actually I do have a web site... it is below!  Thought you would never ask.... bwahahaha!!!!

If I ever get to your neck of the wooods... I will use it to verify who i really really really really really am!!! Bwahahaha!!!

In real life - I am kinda boring... but then again... it is not everyday you get to meet a green guy... unless you count the Hulk.

You had the Palfrey case where the Feds took it. That's what happens when a prostitution case is big.

If it's small, the local prosecutor takes it. Since it's routine, it would have been a rubber-stamp.

It's not like his prosecuting the Gambinos (though their rackets obviously included prostitution). It also isn't like the prosecuting of insider trading scandals. Those were both basically under his direct control.

That story was reported after I made that post. Everybody else was asking the same question and AP answered.

You did your "homework" the same way a baby bird has its beak open.

-- Modified on 3/10/2008 4:00:15 PM

if an AG of the state did NOT prosecute prostitution...well.... then he would be on the pay... but hey... maybe he was.... lol!

Thanks for the info, genius. I think I'll wait till it's more reliable than you and the Associated Press, who as you say, can't get anything right.

and we all have to drival out the words one by one to yas.... dude -

'In 2004, he was part of an investigation of an escort service in New York City that resulted in the arrest of 18 people on charges of promoting prostitution and related charges.' - in addition he pursued prosecution of those travel agencies that promoted sex tours to Thailand... There are OTHER EXAMPLES - but even if i provided you with 100 - you would still say... oh that is not enough.... sheese.

Geese dude... just cause I don't drown ya in fact... does not mean that they are not there.... they are.

I mean the guy was tough on crime....  get over yourself.

Several interesting things pop out at me.

1) At one point he had a balance of $2,721.41. I mean who keeps track of pennies at that level of business?

2) For playing in the world of $5000 providers and considering who he was, he didn't get anywhere near top notch treatment from management.

3) The FBI claims this particular agency had more than one million dollars flowing through one particular bank account. Sure, everyone involved in this hobby is at risk from LE, but how true is it maybe that the low end (SW) and very high end (especially interstate agencies) are much more at risk of scrutiny than the "independents in the middle"?

He should have found out who he could get for a tenth of that. But I guess he thought he was buying luxury and security.

It was Spitzer's moving money among various accounts that triggered the entire investigation. The bank alerted the Justice Department because they thought he was taking bribes. So it turns out it really was too much money to spend on this activity.

"Spitzer, who made his name by bringing high-profile cases against many of New York's financial giants, is likely to be prosecuted under a relatively obscure statute called "structuring," according to a Justice department official.

"Structuring involves creating a series of financial movements designed to obscure the true purpose of the payments"

Unless the guy has taken bribes to fund this, or is dirty in some other way, I don't think they're going to make anything else stick.

The reason I put myself on the line with things like "As far as I know, he didn't prosecute prostitution cases" is I want to have sympathy for the guy. I mean, so far, he sounds like just another hobbyist.

Unlike one or two other people here.

I think I'll do my research now.

Where does Spitzer get this kind of money of the public payroll? Maybe he has family money but I don't think he's a Kennedy.

which is the only thing that bugs me about this story - quite frankly had he been playing at the $$$-$$$$$$$$ level I would not have minded... but lets face it... moving that kind of money around... with a 2K BALANCE..?  SHEESE... the guy was asking for it.

My half fact is that I know he had friends with money.  He was friends with some hedge fund guys, and even an occasional legitimate stock tip could've put quite a few bucks in his pocket.

Hopefully, most of us aren't limited to what that weekly paycheck says we're worth.

players - well... it happens.. that they make money with money.... but my bet?  he measured his hobby well... did not do it often... but often enough to  create curiosity... or jealousy.. and someone tipped.  somewhere

If he's dirty, he'll go down and make a crater.

I think his fun money might be clean, because if it weren't, it doesn't make sense that he hasn't already resigned. If there's anything else, he would be smart enough to already know he's not riding this out.

Spitzer comes from a very wealthy family. For him the salaries he received as AG and Governor is chump change. No question he could afford to play at this price level and not even feel it.

It's a reason he's not going to resign. He's got fuck-you money.

There will be some more high level people who will get busted. Sometime in our lifetime or children's lifetime the hobby will be legal in the US.

What an idiot. A few years ago I saw Nikki Avalon and Jenni of Las Vegas for 4 hours and paid, as I remember $2500. Who the fuck is this Kirsten? No reviews and sounds in the affadavit to be low class. Do your own booking. Spitizer got involved because the Feds were investigating the agency for money laundering. Keep this business between yourself  and the provider.

We can see what's wrong with that idea. No bank would have noticed $$$ shifting around in his accounts. And agencies keep records.

Plus, sometimes a luxury price convinces people that they are getting the luxury. There are so many great women he could have seen in both New York and DC at less than a 5th of the cost. He didn't do his homework. He was an amateur.

Let's run him for prez to help the economy. Anybody want to help me screen interns?
