Why do providers post fake pictures on their websites? I know, to lure unsuspecting men, that's why. But, do they ever think that maybe some guys just might recognize these pictures as someone else, thus losing business?
I know a lot of agencies do this from experience because my first encounter was with an agency in NY called ELadiesNYC that baited-and-switched me with a picture of some porn star named Shyla Foxx. I don't watch much porn, so I had no idea who that was and thought it was a hot Latin babe as advertised. She was advertised as Gina, but the girl I met was named Jean and clearly not what I was expecting. When I called the agency, they said there was a mixup with the name I requested by the girl who took my call. A few weeks later, while surfing the Net, I come across the exact picture the agency used and realized, for lack of a better word, I got screwed. I haven't made that mistake again.
But, what really has me curious is, about a month ago I contacted a newcomer from LI based on her few reviews (nothing less than an 8) and the many comments on how attractive she is. We had trouble finding a suitable date due to our schedules. We finally cemented a date and time, but she sent me an email stating she had car trouble and had to reschedule. The next day I showed a buddy of mine her pictures from her website and he was positive he had seen some of them somewhere else. Sure enough, he told me where he saw them and he was right, they were taken from another non-escort site. Funny thing is, I thought her pictures looked a little inconsistent with her skin tone (she's African-American), but chalked it up to different lighting and the fact that I was probably being too analytical.
My question is, if every reviewer is stating this provider is quite attractive and beautiful, why resort to using someone else's pictures? BTW, these pictures have her face obscured.
Sorry for the long post.
I guess I can't say for sure why someone would put a "false" picture on a website, it seems to be self defeating in that you will always find out, but of course the obvious reason would be that they're worried about someone recognizing them - even with the face obscured.
It may also be a matter of laziness to a degree - if the agency doesn't have a competent photographer on staff, you have to find one, book a shoot, wait for proofs and so on, all of which can be time consuming and potentially expensive.
Oh, and here's the self-promoting part - I'm a model so of course all of my pictures are really of me.
Just my two cents.

It could be that she doesn't have or want to put out the money on a quality photo session. (a good session can cost up to a couple of grand or possibly more for photos in hand)
Ofcourse, anything I or anyone else could say would only be speculation. The only way to find out for sure would be to ask the girl in question.

Hotter pictures = more phone calls = more business.
Consider two equally attractive providers. One puts up her
own authentic picture and the other puts up a picture of Marilyn
Lange (Playboy's playmate of the YEAR, no less, 1974). Who ya
gonna call? Don't laugh, it's been done. Now that Playboy has
opened its vaults there are unlimited pictures of gorgeous women
that are just bad enough in photographic quality to make you convince yourself they're real. But only if you're a newbie.
Do this long enough and you'll understand why the surest sign of
fraud is a picture of an undeniably hot woman.
The final piece of the puzzle is the abysmal taste of many of your fellow reviewers. If I understand your question you want to
know why a girl who gets an "8" in appearance won't put up a picture of herself since she must be hot, right? Usually not.
The sad fact is a TER "8" bears little resemblance to the "8"
you saw waiting in line at the grocery store yesterday. My god,
some people even hand out scores of "10." Anyone who thinks
they had an encounter with a "10" for $300 is a fool. Go to
Milan in the spring and then tell me you had a ten. I'm not
talking about Italian providers, I'm talking about the REAL 10s
just breaking into modelling.
A guy posted on the L.A. board a link to a picture he said made
him envy all of us "hobbyists" living in Los Angeles. I think
his initial reaction was "oh my GOD," as in she is "SOOO F******
Hot!" To me she looked like Frankenstein's monster. Not young,
giant implants & pretty hard looking. Boy do we have a lot of
those in L. A. But she's someone's idea of a "9."
I know what you want, I want it too. Every day I see unbelievably hot young girls walking around with guys who don't
look like they know what day of the week it is. I would gladly
pay $300 or FIVE hundred or perhaps EVEN MORE for an hour with
them. But they DO NOT PROVIDE at any price.

Flame away!
For what it is worth, I got bait-and-switched by Eladies in NYC as well....I posted the details in my review of "Sarah".
For me though the experience turned out great...and for the dollar, I was really pleased.
I realize I am different than most guys however...for me, once we get to "attractive", looks don't matter (at least not until we keep going up the scale to "oh.....my....gawd"...which I have seen with my own two eyes in person only once in life...I was once in an upscale strip joint and a girl came on stage to dance that was so ....amazing....I started to perspire just looking at her....lol).
Anyway...you have every right to be pissed, and I say don't take a chance with "Eladies" again. I know I haven't, even though things went well. Who is to say they would next time?
I would never use ELadies again and still haven't used an agency the few times I partaked in the last 2 years.
I have no problem if some escort wants to cover her face to protect her privacy...just as long as she's doing it for that reason and not to bait-and-switch.
Your stripper story reminds of the one stripper I saw in NJ that was heads and shoulders above everyone else I ever saw...and that included the ones I saw when I went to Scores in NY. To give you an idea about her, I saw her pulling into the parking lot one night driving a Maserati. Not exactly the type of car one sees everyday.
