A few points regarding posts, reviews, and attitudes on TER
While I believe that others who participate on these boards share my opinions, I’d like to preface this post by saying that I claim to speak for only myself. Here are a few points regarding posts, reviews, and attitudes on TER.
1.) TER’s purpose, as near as I can discern, is to create a reliable source of information on escort and massage providers. A sense of community is helpful to that end and so should be continually promoted by staff as well as participants on the boards. The following is aimed solely at advancing that purpose.
2.) Anyone and everyone who provides useful information and/or contributes to the boards in a positive way should be sincerely welcomed and have their contributions appreciated. At this point I would love to name names of those whose contributions who have helped me personally, but to do so would be totally inappropriate. It should suffice to say that ladies and gentleman should both be welcome here, but neither has more right than the other. I enjoy reading the posts that come from providers, and other ladies, and would like them to know that I, for one, welcome them here.
3.) Anyone and everyone who goes out of their way to be offensive or deliberately false should be ejected like a henchman out of 007’s car. Poof – through the sunroof. This should include those who continually create controversy for the sake of either self-promotion or just to “mess” with other people. If a provider wants to promote herself, she should do so on the ad pages, and only there. If anyone wants to be offensive, he or she should do it while looking in the mirror, not on these boards.
4.) It is high time for TER Staff to step up to the plate and take serious swings to insure the veracity of reviews. Without this, the site will continue on a downward spiral into uselessness. Because I hate people who whine about problems but never try to advance a solution, points 5 and 6 are my suggestion for improving the veracity on this site, both in the reviews and on the discussion boards.
5.) Only those who pay for VIP membership should be able to post reviews and no aliases should be allowed beyond the user’s ID. This will stop bogus posts. If you’re afraid of reprisal from a provider, your review is probably bullsh*t. If you post a review, you should be required to stand by it. From what I have seen here, honest reviews, good or bad, will be backed by others on the boards. I gladly pay for VIP membership because this resource is valuable far beyond it’s cost. As someone pointed out a few months back, if you can’t afford the $20/month, you can’t afford this “hobby” anyway.
The multiple account issue is also addressed by this method. By requiring paid VIP membership to post reviews, you can use the name on the credit card to track accounts. Even those who have multiple cards always have the same last name on them! Perhaps one of the legal beagles on this board could help identify the amount of LE risk that creates, but I think the disclaimer at the front of the site proclaiming this to be fictional entertainment covers us. That is what this is, right?
6.) Escorts should have a separate membership class that allows them to read reviews but excludes them from posting reviews. To balance that exclusion, TER should create a bad client list on this site that can be read by clients, but not posted to by them. Perhaps a provider on this board might be interested in preserving her safety by that means? With this system, clients and providers would both be able to check their own reviews and challenge falsehoods! I believe that this will also attract more providers to this site, thus increasing the resources available here while creating checks and balances for everyone.
In writing a post this long, I do not think it possible to not have offended someone or proposed something that is a questionable idea. Any rebuttal, or contrary suggestion is welcome as long as it furthers the intended purpose of this site.

I am split on some of your suggestions for implementation, although I agree totally with your intentions. Paid memebrship will also detract from the reviews, as not all Hobbyist's would be willing to spend the extra 20 to post something that other would get to read. True, you and I understand the invalauable service the reviews provide to us, and know of the $$$$$ we have saved by being directed away from the scams, ripp offs, LE traps, etc... but not all will see it as clearly. I will give more thought to these issues, and post more soon.
I do applaud you for your post, as this is the reason this site is here, and those of us that are actively using it, need to offer our assistance in the maintenance and success as we do our own on-going concerns. That is just my opinion. But...what do I know?
I agree in large part with your position; albeit DateAMan makes a valid point about reviews/paid membership.
While I do not "review" (using either my TER handle or any alias) for reasons I've stated in other threads, I do perceive that some may have valid reasons for wanting to separate their review identity from their TER discussion board identity.
It is obvious that some providers know the actually person behind the "handles" we use here - some know mine, have figured out who I am, or could if they followed certain threads. This is true for others as well, I'm quite sure.
Now take this another step. Some hobbyists have acknowledged relationships with providers at a varying levels - some are perhaps quite personal in a sense. Perhaps these hobbyists don't want their hobby activities to be available information - perhaps it might have an adverse affect.
But then - as DateAMan says, this is my opinion, but what do I know.
You make many good, probably valid, and potentially useful points here. I do not post under my user ID if for no other reason than I wish to keep them separate, not that my ID is known to anyone I have seen, or even that they care who I am. Perhaps the answer to that would be for a user to be allowed to have a single alias only for the purpose of posting on the boards. I do use the reviews to cover the cost of membership, but would not object to a change in that regard if it would improve the site. If it becomes a for fee site, the cost might be lower since the staff says the fees are mainly to cover the costs associated with operation. Just my two cents.

You guys bring up a lot of good points; unfortunately one thing to consider is the majority of the memberships here are review based. I almost notice a separatist attitude between paying and non-paying members. This cannot be. Everyone is equal here. Each and every member counts. We are all part of this community and everyone’s contributions are needed. It does not matter whether the contributions are reviews, money, comments or thoughts.
I have heard a lot of concern recently about fake reviews. Many people don’t realize that TER hosts over 20000 reviews? If you added up every bogus or incorrect review mentioned on these boards it would not even add up to 1 tenth of one percent. Kind of makes you wish you had those odds picking a random girl from an escort mall.
Remember, all of us make up this community, the staff is only your first line of defense; the rest is up to each and every one of you. If you see a review that you know for a fact is untrue, click on the "report a problem" and tell us about it. If a profile is missing information, cough it up. We want to know. A thousand pairs of eyes are better than one!

I'm not clear on what you mean by seperatist. That review based VIP memebers are 2nd class? By no means!! That their reviews might be less reliable as they are reviewing for gain? Sure. I mean no offense by that, but it is simple human nature.
One tenth of one percent would be 20 bogus reviews out of 20000. I'm betting there's a LOT more than 20. Perhaps only 20 have been found - not by any fault of Staff.
