Big Government from either side will keep up a nanny state, where laws and the LE that claim just to be upholding them are supposed to be the solution to all problems. Why P4P has to take the blame for what is really a child labor issue I'm nort sure, but this country has enough lazy thinkers to fall for conflation fallacy and alternative fallacy arguments.

For myself, I would never find the kind of expert I seek in a child.

There is an Executive Order in place from the Bush Era that forbids any member of the US Military or a Department of Defense Contractor from using the services of a prostitute at any time and anywhere, to include using them where prostitution is legal and controlled (Nevada, Holland, Germany, etc).   In places where GIs once used the local girls freely (Korea comes to mind immediately), they are now given significant administrative punishment (Article 15 of the UCMJ) for being even being seen leaving a bar with one, so I'm told.   Did this stop anything?  Not really, young men deprived of women will find away around the system but that drove everything back into the shadows and creates a whole new set of problems.  

Obama has sat on his ass for four years and not changed the Executive Order.  

Other than that, the President and the Congress of the United States have little to nothing to do with laws and law enforcement regarding prostitution.  Those are State and local issues.  Usually State Laws prohibiting prostitution and local police enforcing them with the emphasis directed from the City Council, Mayor and the public.  

I've said here before that the only way prostitution will ever become legal in the US is through a ruling by the Supreme Court.   Just as the Supremes struck down anti-sodomy laws they could do the same with prostitution.  The crux of the matter is that it is ridiculous to tell a person that they can decide to have sex with another person in private for any or no reason at all, but NOT if there is money involved.  That is not to say that streetwalking could not still be controlled, minors forbidden, advertising limited etc, but it would be none of the police's business what goes on once a couple is in private.  

And in closing, don't forget that the Prince of the Democratic Party, Senator Harry Reid recently addressed the Nevada State Legislature and called for the end to legal prostitution in Nevada.  Other than to again make a fool out of himself, he got nowhere with is plea, but it does show that this is not a RED/BLUE issue.
