I know it's a moronic question, but it does get asked too many times. Once is too many. I was reading a review and came across the best answer I've heard to date: "We laid on the bed and chatted a bit, I asked her why she got into the industry and she told me that she likes to watch guys cum." This was pre-session and the rest of the session went off without a hitch. Anyone else have a canned reply that defuses an uncomfortable situation?

Yes, that can be supplemented with grants, but that's never guaranteed, either.  That's not exactly a glamorous salary, and given the cost of living in the bay area, it's a pittance.  

My point is - and while I am sure the majority of ladies aren't qualified to work as a professor at UCB - providers can make a lot more off their bodies than with their brains, even at respectable jobs that actually require a bona fide education and intellect.

You picked a profession that is notorious for low starting pay. Still after a few years they can get a big pay increase as they advance themselves and tremendous benefits.

Sure you have to pay taxes on a regular job but you get medical insurance, paid vacations, and a retirement plan.  

Hookers may gross a lot per hour but there is lots of overhead and they don't work steady. If they want to live a normal life they have to pay something in taxes.  

A "respectable" job is something you don't have to hide from the law or the kids. They always seem to talk about 'exit strategies" but few ever do.

The lure of fast easy money is irresistible to most hookers

Seriously, do you know what it takes to get tenure at a competitive research university? It's absolutely brutal, and modern tenure does NOT make you set for life in some fields like in the old days. Depending upon field, tenure is frequently only as good as long as the grants keep pouring in (meaning constant long hours). For the work involved, the salary doesn't go up all that much, either, unless you end up as an endowed chair or you're superlatively successful in your field (which requires some luck as well as brains -- keep in mind the competition isn't Everyday Joe).

Again, my point is that for ladies who love sex, this not only pays better than McDs but a lot of other jobs, too, and if someone is on the bright side (whether formally educated or not), she'll do much better than the average provider.

lol, you are right. I'm out of touch with that field.

The average starting salary for a college grad with a bachelors degree is 55K in the Bay Area. The average includes liberal arts grads. Obviously the major has a lot to do with how much you can make.

My point was that a girl who goes into prostitution (unless it's strictly to pay for college in her 20's and she leaves for the real world as soon as she graduates) will wake up someday at 30-40 years old with no resume. Even if she gets a Masters it will do no good at that age without experience in the field.  

Hooking may pay off in the short term but those who put work into legitimate legal endeavors will end up better in the long term

I could go on.  Guys who take a perverse fascination of us are one down-side of this profession.  So you were right when you said it was a "moronic question."  And if asking it "Once is too many," than why did you ask it yet again?
