I don't go to the boards to pick fights. I just want to talk to like-minded people about a hobby. Then people wonder why there are no posts on any of the boards. My guess no one there, the numbers are not real. No one cares to participate for fear of being attacked by a few guys hiding in their parent's basement. Or are so bitter of a life wasted? My guess is that its either 1) more local interest in locales where new regional boards went up recently, or 2) providers are telling their customers about VPN access and that TER is still alive. A lot of the old names that used to be here still haven't shown up, so I think it takes some of us older guys a while to grasp some of the newer technology.
but I have a problem with your first guess. All the new regional boards are international boards that so far I have only been able to find one single post on all of them and that post on the Barcelona board is from an established member here. I will confess I only checked out about half of them before getting bored, but one post certainly doesn't explain a threefold increase in viewership here.
Your second guess holds more weight, and might explain "part" of the increase, but unless and until I see an appreciative uptick in the number of actual posts on the boards, I personally remain skeptical.
Me, too. I will also remain skeptical of GaGa's and CDL's numbers. GaGa needs to write some reviews. And the Dr. Who Reviews tells me that CDL writes fake reviews.

To the regional discussion boards and ad boards, a little over a month ago. When I saw Ibiza on the list I thought sure it would be a hotbed of activity on both the discussion and ad board………but alas the Ibiza boards have not one post.
Butt however, with this new flurry of activity I’ve not lost hope.
Butt then I realized with the online users going from 500 to 3,500 and not one post on the Ibiza board, so I have to think there is something rotten in Denmark and Denmark is not even on the list.

is a technical glitch. Unless TER is running a promo somewhere that none of us know about, there's absolutely no reason for a sudden 3-5 fold increase in users.
I was of the understanding that the "users online" counter was unreliable at best and likely being artificially inflated.
I have been a lurker for years , while always VIP never an interest in posting.
Since the US shutdown, I will occasionally check in through VPN but it has been weeks. Yesterday I recieived an email from TER telling me they have missed me. I thought maybe they were back.
It did cause me to check. Possibly I am not the only one.
but I see the effect was shortlived as the current count is back where it's been at less than a thousand "users online" as of this post. The current number is 858.
My guess is that a couple of thousand people got the e-mail you are talking about, checked in, saw next to nothing going on and tuned right back out again. Until TER gives people a reason to come here and stay here it will just be the small handful of blabbermouths talking amongst ourselves until TER finally turns off the lights.

The numbers don't matter. There is nothing here other than a couple guys who talk a big talk but when others post they go into attack mode. I am growing tired of this board. I thought I would try and add to the discussion only to be shot down. Hogtied and accused of making things up. Nothing of value came out of a discussion with those here. Just nothing positive taking place.

I think you would have to admit that the way you hobby is anything but mainstream. When you started your thread about your $12,000 hooker "birthday" date, I was skeptical and called BS, but when one of the participating hookers corroborated your claims, I gave you a public apology for my initial disbelief. Consequently, I disagree that "nothing of value" came out of your posts. You opened my eyes to new possibilities for wasting money, even though I probably don't need your help with that. So I came away believing you told the truth about your experience, and THAT'S a positive outcome from your posts. I still think you're lonely and not very bright, but I DO NOT think you're a liar.
BTW, I have over 200 reviews, all written since the summer of 2015. It averages out to a little over one and a third reviews a week, although I haven't written a review this year since April. Before that, I had nearly 450 on another site (which was corroborated here a couple years ago by a few guys that knew me from over there) which went defunct at the same time I started posting my reviews on TER. I've been a TER VIP since 2008, but TER's rules don't allow you to post reviews here that have been posted on other sites, so the first 400-450 went somewhere else.
