I understand your point.  However i do not think the fact that he made a very superficial post to start that thread should cover a wealth of sins in his subsequent posts on that thread.  Those are no more on topic than this thread is.  If you want to argue his first post on that thread should be left but most the rest removed along with mine I would not agrue.

And I do not take what you said as an affront at all.

I was reading the thread below that was started by Hirogen titled, “Do you chose MILFs for dinner dates” when something he said inspired me to start this post thread.

After reading several of his comments it was clear he had no interest in how I or anyone else answered the question.  When someone made a reasoned post articulating their opinion Hirogen, the seeker of wisdom, attacked and ridiculed anyone who did not support his own myopic view.  He stopped millimeters short of proclaiming that a woman should slit her own wrists when she turns 26 since the great and wise Hirogen would not have sex with them.  And if you can no longer have the thrilling exhilaration of an erotic encounter with Hirogen then her reason for living is gone.  Is that not so?  Do not all you ladies cry yourself to sleep each night knowing you are no longer the apple of his eye?  I know you do so you might as well admit it.

But I was spurred to action when he posted that others should not question what he wrote in his post but should instead start their own thread.  And so I am.

The topic of this thread is, “Do you chose Hirogen as your dream date?  Why or why not.”

He is the apple of my tree! I suckled him with my wrinked breasts until he was 25!  Then he viciously cut me out of his life when I told him I had to stop.  But I still love him so, because he is the nicest man I ever met! (Despite his shriveled unit). Mom, you can be very proud of your son.  He has been an absolute sponge, soaking up all the traits you yourself had.  But I had not thought about the meth angle, maybe he cannot help himself.  Maybe it was the brain damage from that tainted breast milk that turned him into the little boy he is now.

But do not fret, Mom, he is sure to be a serious contender for MCP of the Year in 2011!  Any mom would be proud to have a son grow up to be like that.  I will send you a photo so you can remember what he looks like, meth does do bad things to the memory.

PS:  If you plan on visiting him in the asylum I would be careful if I were you.  He is 25, so you must be a tad bit older.  And you are aware he strongly believes useful life for women ends at 25.  Out of loving kindness he may wish to put you out of your misery.

He takes after his Mom. She was 55 when I was at the club minding my own business, she slipped  the date drug into my drink, seduced me, and told me how lucky I was. At 25 I was heading over the hill and next year she would not have given me the time of day. She is now 80, doesn't remember anything about age limitations and jumps anything that moves at the rest home.

First, church won't be happening.  I walked out of the funeral home when the priest spoke at my father's funeral.  No scene, but also not going to be a party to foolish mystical beliefs.  Now, before I need to pull my own post, I have no reason to delete any of what's been said here.  I'm with mrfisher on this one.  This is free entertainment for anyone that looks at it as such.  Besides, one of the people complaining of the hate speech is the OP.  How's that for irony?  Most of the more serious back & forth is by Hirogen and Priapus, and while they may be attacking one another, neither has complained to me about the other's attacks.  I know that both are VIP members, so I have to assume that both are OK with the thread.  None of the rest of you are being attacked.  Therefore, it's my opinion that none of you have grounds to complain.

Sorry BG, I don't mean this to be aimed in your direction (other than the pagan temple part).  :)

I am like LP, I don't believe in censorship, but keep your petty disagreements with Hirogen on the P&R board where they started, or your posts will get pulled. This board is not going to go the way of the Sports and P&R board, I enjoy laughing at your weak attempts to "ridicule" Hirogen, but there are limits as to what will be tolerated.

In answer to BG, this board is not going to become a "war zone" between hirogen and Priapus, but unless it becomes a habit, at which time one of us will shut it down, Hirogen is the only one being attacked and he seems to be a big boy and capable of defending himself. As far as his "offending posts" go, he hasn't come out and attacked anyone individually, and his posts break no rules here so they stand. So then you do believe in censorship, its just that you draw the line further out than allowed by TER rules. If neither of you believe in censorship, then you shouldn't have volunteered to act as mods, as the primary role of the mod is to censor potential posters (secondarily, to answer informative pm's). Apparently, neither you nor LP believe in enforcing TER discussion board rules (posted on the front page) which are explicit as to what is to be deleted.

Sure he has. Not his original OP which was a general attack on all providers over 25, but in several of his replies he did attack the person who gave different opinions than his own.

I'm not even clear as to why you draw a distinction between a general attack and a directed personal attack anyway. Is there a difference between saying any provider over 25 is scraggly and too old to be considered fuckable, and stating that "person x is scraggly and too old to be fuckable because she is over 25"? Would you allow OPs that state all black providers are dirty crackheads and thieves, as long as not one particular provider was called out in particular for being black?

That's the main issue. As has been alluded to by others here (and in past threads) you and LP enjoy this. That is why you allow it to happen. Repeatedly. Not because it doesn't violate TER posting guidelines.

Sure, you can state everyone should "man up" and accept some attacks, or skip over threads that are full of attacks, etc. but that is not what you are supposed to be doing. The role of a mod is to enforce existing rules, not decide what rules *should* apply to the board.

    And most of the “guidelines” are precisely that – guidelines, not rules. There are some per se rules where the mods probably have no discretion –posting personal information for example – but most of the guidelines are explicitly to be interpreted in light of the individual mod’s discretion.

     And equating “censorship” with “enforcing the rules” is ridiculous. By your reasoning, we are a nation of censors bc in almost every context we have rules limiting and regulating what can be said.

But it is equally fair for them to exercise their discretion to take a more forgiving stance. And equally unfair to say they are making these decisions because they "enjoy it."

No statement there regarding 'discretion by the mods'. It states in no uncertain terms "These posts will be deleted". You like to say you are precise on words so I assume TER purposely stated 'will' be deleted, not 'may' be deleted. The only discretion might be in determining if something is indeed mean, foul, or sensitive since those are not objective terms. Yet it would be ludicrous for anyone to argue that none of the posts here or in other threads that have been allowed to stand fail those criteria. I can't imagine that even LP or GaG would make such a claim that there are no mean posts or any that contain foul language.

And yes, we are a nation of censors. The ridiculous statement would be trying to pretend the US actually has 'free speech' when it is regulated in many contexts, including the government. (Sort of like the absurdity of claiming the US has free markets.) And this being a private message board, TER can set whatever rules it desires (besides the fact that TER is run by a European corporation). The issue is that TER has set its 'rules', prominently displayed, but they are not enforced by those in charge.

Would I want the rules as stated relaxed? Probably, but that is beside the point. People who choose to be here should follow the rules TER has set in place. And those in charge should enforce them.

As for someone stating 'Zisk is an idiot', well for that there are some here who would argue its not an attack at all but rather a statement of fact. ;)

Personally I would prefer to see them both removed, but if the other one is allowed to stay, this one should be as well.  They are both of the same ilk, there is no difference except in one case it is all women over 25 who are attacked--and anyone who disagrees with Hirogen--while here it is reversed.

I would rather not see "attack" threads, but it is far worse if someone is allowed to attack--and do not insult me by saying Hirogen's thread is not an attack--but is protected from posts in kind.

What will happen, I do not know.  What should happen I have a good idea of.
