Once again, the ONLY thing Viagra does is improve blood flow to the penis, allowing a man to acheive an erection.

It does NOT increase or decrease sex drive, it does NOT enhance the quality, duration, or frequency of orgasm.

In some cases it can cause desensitization and result in delayed orgasm, or in some cases, the inabilit to achieve orgasm at all.

If you are experiencing difficulty in acheiving and/or maintaining an erection, SPEAK TO YOUR DOCTOR. Before resorting to Viagra, other potential problems need to be ruled out first, and other, less drastic remedies should be attempted as well.

Any of you guys (or someone you know) use Viagra (or similar) for your provider visits?  I'm thinking I might want to try some for my visit. Although healhy now, I'm still in "recovery" from a prolonged convalescence and the wood seems to disappear at the slightest distraction.

In addition, I took some medicine (has a Viagra like side effect) the other night that gave me a 2 hour woody (the thing just wouldn't go away).  I just wanted to go back to sleep; it woke me up!  The interesting thing for me was that although I had the steel of a twenty year old, I just didn't have any interest at all in sex to go along with it.

Makes me wonder if Viagra type medicines have no effect at all on libido, just on the ability to achieve and maintain wood.

Also, a female friend, due to an experience, wants to know if Viagra delays ejaculation or causes desensitization or both.  Seems her guy couldn't cum to save his life while under the influence of Viagra.

by all means keep taking the natural and the feeling will come around .
Viagra has way too many  negative side effects to the body than  the natural approach does .

I too have some Libido herbs and they take some time to get the full effect ..
Just like everything (meds) (herbs) it takes some time for your system to get used to it .

Please note that I am NOT a doctor. You should probably talk with your doctor.

What you describe is NOT a Viagra like side effect. To quote the link, "Without sexual stimulation, and therefore lack of activation of the NO/cGMP system, sildenafil should not cause an erection."

As with any drug, there are potential side effects. Some of them are serious. There is a reason that it is a prescription drug.

As far as I know, Viagra has no effect on the libido.

I have heard that it makes orgasm more difficult. Since I suffer from retarded ejaculation anyway I wouldn't be the one to be able to detect this effect.

Viagra(sildenafil citrate)is a circulatory system enhancer originally studied for hypertension patients and diabetics for their common blood flow problems to the anatomical extremities.
Viagra offers NO increase in libido; but merely avails more blood flow to the penis when the libido is aroused.

Viagra is NOT to be taken if you're on drugs with nitric oxide donors, organic nitrites and nitrates, such as glyceryl trinitrate.

Side effects commonly reported are: Sneezing, headaches, flushing, dyspepsia, palpitations, Photophobia(light sensitivity), blurriness or Peripheral vision loss, and of course the dreaded(but rare) 4 hour or more erection.

I took Viagra once, years ago when VERY drunk. An hour later I had a hard on that came and went for 24 hours. Every time the car hit a bump in the road, boom there it was and very uncomfortable. Now, I use a herbal thing called Spontane-ES. It works perfectly for me. I'm not sure I even need it for sessions but think it helps me throug nervous energy that comes with each visit.

Thanks for the answers and thoughts everyone.  And thanks HTH for subtly pointing out the search option for the discussion boards.

Like everyone else says V does not make you horny it helps maintain an erection. I have a prescription and in my experience. It works best if you take it on an empty stomach at least 30 min before having sex. And no your erection will go down after sex but it will come back with stimulation. I have never had any type of side effects.

It does not increase libido.  From personal experience it does cause desensitization & makes it harder to come (actually reduces the pleasure overall)

Get a sample from your doctor & try it before you go on a provider visit

Well the little blue pill might not effect arousal but apparently a new drug called PT-141 or Bremelanotide does!!! I heard about this first on CNN a while back and have been trying to keep up on it since then. PT-141 is a nasal spray that causes sexual arousal in BOTH men and women and effects can be felt within min of use. The drug is in clinical trials now and should be on the market in a couple of years. Some articles say it's going to be marketed as a drug for women's sexual dysfunction (no drug on the market to date for females), others say it will be for men's. Either way it will be very interesting to see what effect it has on our society. And how readily available it will be seeing as it is sure to end up having a 'street value' since in addition to sexual arousal it also makes one euphoric.

I wish i would have seen this post before.  Don't bank on PT-141.  I have very intimate knowledge on this drug (mangaged studies...and other things) and it is not going to make it to market.

Viagra requires sexual desire in order to stimulate an erection and allow for penetration.  If you take it prior to going to bed with a woman who doesn't excite you then it won't work.
Viagra does cause headaches which can put a damper on the sexual relations it's helping out with.
There isn't conclusive evidence that Viagra helps a guy achieve multiple pops.  It can be a sort of placebo effect because of the added confidence it brings.
If Viagra causes an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours, do NOT call your doctor.  Instead, call all your friends to brag about it.
