Ok boys and girls: I was wondering how often does one get tested? Do you get tested if there is a scare in the hobby community?  Are you on a regular testing cycle? Do you get tested if by chance you happen across something on someone you are with? Share and be frank about it. As we all know keeping covered is a must but so many of us look for BBBJ, CIM, BBBJTC, etc.
If you ladies offer these extras what precautions do you take afterwards. Mouthwash, Showering with the client after a session, washing up, together. Give up your tips.....

Showering, alone or with the client, and mouth wash do nothing to prevent the spread of STD's.

I didn't tell him I'm a professional companion. I did tell him "I'm promiscuous".

Many illnesses don't show up right away, it can take up to 4-6 weeks to show up in a test. Sexually transmitted diseases can't be stopped by showering or mouth wash immediately afterward.  Doing those to things is just a matter of good personal hygiene not disease control.

According to my Doctor's suggestion one every two months.

Once every 4 months. Hit the wrong key.

In part it has to do with how many people you're sleeping with. I can easily go weeks without a single date.

usually 4.  and the only precaution I am aware of that ladies can take to minimize any chance of disease spread is to maintain healthy gums if they are worried out blood born pathogens and as crass as it may sound "swallow or spit just don't let it sit".  Stomach acids kill any pathogens.  This in no way protects against other possible oral std's.

Just to be safe. Thank goodness I have been safe. I don't think I necessarily have to get tested that often but I do it for my peace of mind.

I had a scare with an old ex who, a year later, sent me an email saying he 'might' have something.
Since then, I've been over cautious and go pretty much every month, sometimes 6-8 weeks. I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if I passed something on and ruined someone else's life.

I just returned from 3 weeks on Thailand. I went for a full panel just in case, even though I'd been tested a couple of months before I left. I probably have more partners in a week in Bangkok than I do in 3 months at home.

Since I do adult films, I have to get tested reguarly.  I use AIM which is only good for 28 days then I have to get retested.  Nothing has ever happen to make me feel that someone may have given me something, but if that did come up, I would be in my doctor's office ASAP.  Not a health department or free clinic, my doctor. Before I starting doing adult films, I was a provider for 3 years.  During that time, I got tested every few months.  I feel testing is a very important part of what a responsible provider does, however, it only lets you know your sick after the fact.  Playing safe is my first priority.

A yearly check up and sometimes the day after check up.

I get tested for the six most common STD's on a bimonthly basis.
And of course the usual PPE ...
I use mouthwash, soap, alcohol, tea tree oil and yogurt for my health supplies.
We always shower at my house, it's kind of my favorite :)
Hope you got the answers to your questions.

Insurance company said only $156 payable, WTF, they pay $110, I owe $40 bucks. But only if contracted with insurance.  So I ask you do you have insurance,  public health, obviously you cant got to lab a say run all the test for $650 bucks. So do pick and choose what test?  Maybe I'm just venting but as a doc and ins co. we are not exactly making it any easier to be tested? Thoughts?

when you have an SO its not just you who is at risk plus the risk you can bring to your clients. I no longer have an SO but I still test every 3 weeks. Its all about peace of mind for me as much as it is safety. Its another monthly expense is all.

about $400. I have no insurance but $1600 a year is a small price to pay to know that I am safe. Plus, I would pay that in Health Care if I had insurance. I have 2 kids I have to pay for and they are expensive enough. I don't get sick often so I opted for hospitalization only.

My Lab charges $300 for a full panel test.
But no matter the cost - it is well worth it to be safe and happy in my book!!!

In most major metro areas full testing can be had professionally and anonymously at clinics much less expensively than the private route.  I get a complete battery for $100--for men and women

I get tested every 2 months. I haven't read anything about anyone getting throat cultures for std's. It one takes 1 person to have a disease for it to then spread to many others. It seems not many people are aware or maybe pushing to the back of their minds, that there are 20 disease's you can get from oral... bbbj & daty. This is why some girls don't offer bbbj and/or daty I would assume. I went yesterday for all my tests which also include a throat culture. Please be aware EVERYONE needs to get their throat swapped for std's too.

BTW...industry test alone is not enough...you need a throat test too.

Good point.... about 90% of people I've told this too had NO clue. Me, full panel, including throat swab every 2 mos(and I don't offer anything uncovered, but if you kiss someone with, say, gonarrhea in their throat, well.... )
