Keeping it to yourself

I'm a fairly extroverted person.  Unfortunately, I'm also not very good at hiding my feelings, which is a difficult combination here in the hobby.

When you have an amazing time with someone, who can you tell in real life? Usually that's limited, if anyone at all.  There are also those times of dissapointment or sadness, and those can't be discussed, either.

Other than boards like this (where even then you can't reveal everything), there's no other place to express those thoughts.

You might consider getting invited to a few M&Gs, where you can meet some like minded hobbyists.

You have discerned, correctly I might add, that  wearing your heart on your sleeve on a public board has its hazards. There is a certain locker room mentality here, and sensitivity is likened to weakness. Unless you only want Matt, Algina, Texcat etal as your friends here, you might want to keep a rein on your "feelings" here. lmao

All kidding aside, it kind of sucks not being able to share your highs and lows in the hobby. Keep posting here, and your local board. In time you will find who shares your views on the hobby, women in general etc. Reach out to some of these guys, you might be surprised how many friends you end up with. I know I have made dozens of pretty close friendships through my participation on these boards.

Now, just in case anyone here thinks I am going soft. Grow a pair of balls, you GD whiny ass little sissy, who care about "feelings", is this some sort of touchy feely, damned support group here? or are we here to talking about pussy???!!! Fucking wuss!!! roflmfao

Hey I have a reputation to live up to. lol

I am starting to really like you. In fact you remind me of me. I only wish I could let my assholish side out on here. Like you, I can take as good as I get but it just does not seem appropriate...damn it all to hell!!!!

Since my name has been brought up, I will say, that this is one of the few places you can discuss your hobby experience. Sure, you'll have some guys and gals jump on your case, but take it with a grain of salt, or do as I do, just not read the obvious hostile alias's. You will find like minded people here, who will PM you, and get to know you better, and you them.

Ya know I can't get an alias because I am not VIP. So anything my smarter brother has to say will be under my handle. If he gets too out of line I'll have to slap the taste outta his kisser.

i don't mind hearing about peoples feelings. it gives me an inner squishy feeling. I like that in my board reading.

that if you are strong enough to have feelings, you need to have a very tough hide to express them here. you might also need to actually enjoy the occasional brawl or train wreck. ;-)

you can't tell anyone in real life unless they are _really_ understanding and sympathetic. that's so rare it isn't worth talking about.

as for myself, the effects of a very good time are obvious, day to day. when i go into the office, for days after a happy connection, it's: "tex is happy. wonder who she is?" ;-)

the disappointments are equally obvious. it's best to leave some things mysterious.

and you will have that feeling ten fold. That's why I choose to be a member of TER and read the boards.

Some ladies are lucky and have met other providers they trust to share the workings of their feelings with. It does help to have another person to vent with but also just share our own everyday lives.

For a gentlemen this is a little hard to do unless you have a buddy who sees providers. I have noticed posts on different boards from gentlemen talking about having lunch together. This can only happen if you meet one another at a meet&greet.

I'm sure there are many more caring people here who wouldn't express themselves for fear of ridicule. I don't understand why since most will never meet you.

Kisses Haley

You are completely right that you can't put everything on here.  Not for the trash talking that might ensue but because of discretion, even in this community.

Some feelings really only can be shared after there is trust, and trust doesn't usually happen with entire groups this big.  But the likelihood is you will find one or two you can connect with as pals, friends, confidants.  How far you are willing to go with laying your psyche out there is up to you.  I'm lucky, the couple I've taken the chance with have worked out and they have become symbiotic as I serve the same role for them.  It's not going to work long if it's only one way.

Good luck.

The good news... you can share the good times on the RO board, and tell us that you had a great time. Better than listening to the old farts whine about how we can't hear anymore, or get enough vitamin-V.

Gambler is somewhat correct about anything that might be construed as whining. Most will just ignore or chide, but there are two camps representing the "he-man woman haters club" and the Barry Manilow fans.

Fortunately, if you use the resources here you can avoid most true disappointments, and even then you can vent to some degree, and as long as it is geared toward informing the other folks it won't be taken poorly.

Just no whining and no gloating, and we'll keep the hammers and nails in the toolbox.

I know I should but I do have a reputation to uphold :). Once you go there, you can't come back..or so I've been told.

And really, I don't want to be an ass for the sake of it. But you know, if there is someone or some topic that burns my ass enough, trust me, I'll come out swinging. Then I realize, it's just an internet board and being an ass on here proves nothing...except I'm an ass. And seriously, I can get my point across much more efficiently by being decent.

But ya never know....

and sometimes people really, really deserve it. lol

Of course my being an ass to the OP was firmly tongue in cheek, he asked a legitimate question and was entitled to an honest answer which I did, before reverting to form of course. Hey I have a reputation to consider. lmao

Agree..... it can be lonely-ish on the provider side unless you have actual friends in it or make actual friends in it or go to the m&g.... yet to go to one of those btw.

On the hobby side IMO go on as many boards as you can find and express yourself lol.
