Sex is always great, but if he is into football take him to a playoff game or the super bowl. It maybe too expensive to get into the game, but sneak into some of the events surrounding it. The problem with a sporting event is that while I enjoy getting really nice seats to my favorite sporting event, you cannot control how the game will go.  Nothing spoils the mood like an old fashioned shellacking like the Eagles did to my Redskins this year.  Though I suppose that you could turn that anger and aggression into some mind-blowing sex

I would prefer a weekend away to a place I've never been to before.  That way every time you see the place in a movie or on TV you will fondly remember all the things you did with each other while you were there.

Guys bond through shared experiences, the actual doing of something together instead of just watching.  February is a tough month since the cold weather may limit outdoor activities.  If you both ski, a skiing weekend would be great.  If you like snorkeling can you get somewhere warm enough for a weekend of that?  You can get in the water with dolphins at the Dolphin Research Center.  

Watching a sporting event is only special if he has a favorite team that's not in your city, like the Knicks or the Celtics if you don't live in NY.  If his favorite hockey or basketball team is in his hometown, he's likely been already, so it's nice to go again but not really special.  If he likes college basketball, the end of season conference tournaments are the first week in March and you might be able to get semi-finals and finals in your price range.

Take him to a swingers club and the the two of you put on a show for the crowd. You might be surprised what happens before the night is over.
