I recently came across a lady's profile on P411 that basically said "Professional Hobbyists" need not apply.

Okay… so who do you consider to be a "Professional Hobbyist"? It seems to me that this applies to most of us here.

Is it someone with more than XX reviews? or someone with more than XX Okays? or someone who has been in the game for more than XX years? What criteria do you use to determine if a guy is a "Professional Hobbyist"?

I am not questioning a ladies right to screen as she sees fit or see who she chooses, but I have seen this cropping up more and would like to understand so I don't waste her time or mine.

BTW, I personally do not like the terms "Hobby" or "Hobbyist", but that is what TER uses so I don't think it will change any time soon.  I consider this a lifestyle choice not a hobby.

This was debated a while back when CPA and SaturnSky were going at each others throats.. London Rayne was still a hooker, and Nationals were sitting on top of MLB with 98 wins...

I never got anything worthwhile out of that debate as everyone walked away with their own definition. The definition goes along the lines of someone who is a serial monger and interested in pops than actual experience.

Ask that bitch if she would prefer Unprofessional Hobbyists? I can be one, but rather be Professional...

as there a need to call her a bitch for not wanting to see a certain faction of guy?

In all fairness. I don't even know whom the Senator is talking about.

But you are pretty much the textbook definition of a "professional hobbyist."

are you saying that I am a textbook definition of a nebulous concept? lol...

It's really not that vague.

I will promise you that I will answer them truthfully w/o making fun if you.

Think with your own head.  Overly critical? That's it..Just one?

I'd really rather not get into this with you because I can already tell it'll turn into a train wreck. Plus I just don't feel like typing that much shit. Let's just not go there.

Start a new thread. Do it over a PM.Do it after a week. I am all ready for debate anytime of the day or night. Or.......Just admit that its a nebulous concept, and can't be debated intelligently.

Fine. Remind me via PM and I'll give you the breakdown if/when I feel like typing that much. It's definitely a debatable topic, and one that can be articulated intelligently, I'm just lazy.

There's always the option of deleting old okays from p411 so that you appear far less of a " professional " monger.  :D

and yes there are so called "professional hobbyists" that must drive the women mad. I don't think it's so much a number of reviews, posts, etc. I think it's more of an attitude that everything she does BCD or otherwise is gong to be judged, rated and then published for all to see and all the spontaneity, not to mention all the fun is going to be sucked right out of the session, not to mention used like a weapon to get a better rate, or to extort an "off the menu" activity with the threat of a bad review.

I think that is what some women consider a "professional hobbyist" and I really can't blame them for not wanting to see those type of men.

Senator.Blutarsky1063 reads

The ladies must sense that attitude through the initial email exchange and reading the guy's reviews. I suspect that this type of guy definitely has reviews which display his character for all to see.

Actually I am not surprised, the ones reacting so badly are possibly the ones this lady is referring to.

and that is the hobbyist/reviewer who shows up with a acronym checklist, an entitled attitude and who is often hyper-critical.

Unfortunately, another part of that profile is the "gentleman" who loves to gossip to you about other providers they've seen. I've had men tell me personal, private information about ladies that I have no right or desire to know. I try to shut that down immediately, and you can imagine that I will not share ANYTHING with that man... knowing that it will end up running out of his mouth at his next appointment.

Some board personalities seem to revel in that dubious distinction... and will never let you forget that they feel their review is the make-or-break moment in your providing career.

I feel sorry for them

And I rarely write reviews unless the girl asks me specifically. I don't even mention reviews.  Using it as a weapon is just a low blow imo

Been hobbying for several years now but I don't think I have much if any of that stereotypical professional hobbyist attitude. After all,  I just want some good head and a good fcking time,  no drama.  lol

Come to think of it,
I think I would really like me too if I was a provider cuz I'm so laid back and just trying to have fun.   :D

In fact, when I was a Newbie, one of my first posts was along the lines of "WTF is up with this lame term?  Are we stamp collectors?"  I got flamed for daring to say such a thing, but I have never used the term.
As for being professional, if I'm such a pro then why ain't I getting paid?

A guy who wants to try all the gals as a bucket list option... I.e. Not a high chance for a returning client. Some ladies like to stick with a small circle of men.

I get what the above description is and I've had a few. They watch the clock to make sure abcdANDe happens in the allotted time. Or after what for them was a great session they give you a look and say things like "little lady I'm gonna do you a favor and write you a great review…now you may not know who I am but if I give a girl a good review she will undoubtedly have a fantastic career". I'm thinking
A)My booker already informed me of your weight on the boards. Can't play a player.
B)Career????????????????????

Recently though I feel I've met a real pro hobbyist. He emailed with all the necessary screening info along with a short bio/description. He was intelligent and polite, booked a few hours as well so I thought he really needed to be loved on, needed to feel comfortably and wanted a real gf experience, like the kind where we cuddle afterwards and share some stories like about how he got that scar on his knee or…whatever.

When he arrived he had wine and the donation in a sweet card and cupcakes and bath goodies. He had never written a single review but had referrals for weeks. During screening the ladies who usually yay/nay it mentioned that he was a great tipper but damn…talk about generous.

I should have fuckin known something was up. Some guys give gifts as a preemptive apology. What followed was sexual mayhem. He didn't cross any lines but he tap danced on all the lines. I'm curious and when someone comes along and I can immediately sense I'm the student I'm up for the challenge.

Curiosity beat the cat upside it's head with a baseball bat.

When he was gone I ran a bath with the muscle soothing bath salts he gave me (the fact he knew I would need them…so calculating). While soaking I replayed everything from the first email to the very moment he left. I knew three things for sure.

1) He was a fucking pro and at no point even when screening and setting up the date and feeling him out was I in control. He knew exactly how to counter balance all the freaky shit he was about to do with seemingly docile and sweet generosity.
2)I would never hear from him again. (maybe that's what the other ladies were hinting at. He tips like crazy…hang in there).
3)I should probably go get an ice pack or two.

Stealthy...

She should worry more about seeing an Unprofessional hobbyist than a professional hobbyist.

you guys have a good rotation, but you better settle for a wildcard because the NL East belongs to the Atlanta Braves.

Yassssssss! I am beyond pumped for opening day! I tried to convince my friends to make a trip to Viera to catch a little bit of Spring Training during spring break this week but everyone is much more interested in stayed blacked out on the beach the whole time... Rats!

Plus, the ridiculous pythons Bryce is sporting these days - Woah! I'm think I'm almost ready to forgive them for trading away my future husband, Steve Lombardozi now... Especially since Fister is bringing so much to the rotation.

Come on, april 4th!

A professional is one who is paid for what we do, but we hobbyists pay for the opportunity to see providers.

Maybe they mean serious hobbyist or avid hobbyist, but why that is a negative?

I guess she means an obnoxious hobbyist who treats people like dirt, but that could be amy hobbyist.  It makes no difference if they hobby a lot or a little.

How many are saying this as they read the post........"my name is XXXXXXXX and I am a professional hobbyist"

describe it, I think its a good thing. My name is Curly. I am a Nats fan and a Professional Hobbyist.. :D

But again, someone else will come and provide their own definition. We would definitely need more than two hookers' opinions to standardize the definition for sure...

.because they expected too much. In other words........they knew what should happen and'd report BS service.

I think its pathetic to be a "Professional Hobbyist" or "Escort". It clearly spells out someones delusional priorities
