An xray of ouch.
I recently read a review that has initiated me to post this thread. The review that I read stated that the provider inserted a bottle into the gentleman's rectum many times. I hope it wasn't bottle cap first...(ouch) According to the review the gentleman really enjoyed their time together and I'm sure will probably be repeating. However, when I read this juicy review, I couldn't help but shutter at the what if. What if this bottle were to get stuck. As you will read below, there is a suction-like effect where objects can be drawn up into the rectum.
Don't get me wrong, I have and still do participate in anal play, both on the giving and receiving end. However, I do feel that it is important to understand the safety and precautions that should always be taken into consideration. Personally, I would be rather embarrassed having to explain this to the emergency room...let alone the cost of treatment and pain that would be incurred.
The information below has been compiled from two excerpts from About.com and Well.com
Anal Sex Toy Safety Tip
For a toy to be safe for anal penetration it should:
Be seamless, with no sharp edges, rough pointy bits, or anything that can easily come off.
Tissue in the rectum is much more easily torn, even the smallest tear can cause serious problems.
Have a wide flared base, or ring, or something significantly big enough to prevent it from being drawn up into the rectum.
When you insert something in the anus, there is be a suction-like effect where objects can be drawn up into the rectum.
What should you do if you (or someone you know) gets a sex toy stuck in your/their body?
If you are not able to immediately and easily retrieve the toy, you may need to go to an emergency department to have the toy removed.
If the toy is a vibrator, and it has batteries in, even if it wasn’t turned on when you were playing with it, you should go immediately to an emergency department. If the toy is on, or turns on while in your body, the motor can overheat and can burn.
If the toy was not a safe anal sex toy and has any sharp edges or is made of anything other than a rubber or plastic, you should probably go immediately to an emergency department.
The first course of action is usually to try and remove the object anally either with instruments or the physician’s fingers. Often they will give you a local anesthesia to help dilate the rectum and relax the sphincter muscles.
If this is not possible, removal may require surgery under general anesthetic. The major concern is whether there is any tearing in the rectum or colon. This can happen either when an object went in, or as it’s being removed, and if tearing is observed it is considered a surgical emergency.

The man whose x-ray is shown in the picture has inserted a bottle into his rectum. Not only did it get stuck, it broke while he tried to remove it (note the sharp edge). It needed to be removed under direct observation and with anesthesia.
Happy and Safe hobbying to all!
remember when Fletcher Jones of the car commercial fame was admitted to Valley Hospital to have an "foreign object" removed from his rectum? lol
It was twenty something years ago, I would guess maybe '81 or '82
But I definitely know the name. I won't be able to pass any of his dealerships without thinking of that now...thanks for the visual
every time I saw him on late night TV with a puppy or kitten in his arms wondering what he was going to do to that poor animal after the camera quit rolling. lol Now hows that for a visual? lmao

They should be called (ass)tronauts. And hemorrhoids should be called asteroids.
Sorry, don't mean to be a pain in the ass.
It is important for both safety and mutual satisfaction to use only things carefully engineered for the purpose. One example are the Feeldoe double dildoes which have one side made for rectal insertion and the other designed for vaginal, clitoral, and g-spot stimulation. There are others: the best are made of safe and easily sterilizable material, shaped to be safe, and of different sizes to allow for safety. (Start with the thinnest size.)
Hey!! My hands are all sticky again! ![]()
An xray of ouch.
You left out all the reports of cute furry animals in someones rectum and of course
the rose for your local protologist. LOL
WTF are people thinking!
One in a million shot Doc.
but seriously - it is no laughing matter - some of the stuff I've seen - well - it do boggle the mind. and the comments by the people there for treatment.... well, makes you wonder about the educational system or for that matter common sense.... at a minimum.
that we are a "successful" species says something, I suppose, but then again, so are cockroaches...
