Yeah, I'd say moron would be a fair statement.
If you even think of seeing her, how could you even have a good time? May be a setup for a bad experience. Move on. End of story.
I got an email from a lady I see on a regular basis(we were setting up our next meeting) and she sent me her new phone number
I call(no answer so I leave a message) and am totally discrete but I am setting up our next meeting that much is clear but more than that is not though I do leave her MY new number too
24 hours later I get a call...from a guy...saying he's gonna have me arrested if I contact her again and to not even call that number again..he was VERY upset...he brought up involving the cops several times
I got the impression he was her father...so you don't think me a jerk you should know she is long past the age of consent(she says she's 27 and I have no reason to believe otherwise)...how it came about he was listening to her messages I have no idea(whoever he is)
Like I said I was discrete but I doubt I am the only one with her number and no telling what kind of message some other person might have left on her machine so it's unclear just how much he knows
I'm thinking however she's been caught since I have not gotten any emails from her since that night and she has not called(but if HE was listening to her messages it's not likely he gave them to her after getting suspicious so she doesn't know my new number)
So now I'm of two minds on what to do next...just never ever calling her again is my first thought but I also had the notion that if she continues to get calls from other guys not knowing the situation this guy may get angrier and angrier until he decides to completely out her to teach her and all the callers a lesson...this would of course mean me too
I doubt I'd be in LEGAL trouble but as you all know that's not the only danger...I'm not married nor do I have a current SO but nonetheless I'd just as soon not appear in the newspaper either
Any advice?
If you were discreet, don't worry too much about the legal side of things. As for your other concerns, look out for #1: YOU. I would never ever call that number again. Hopefully, it'll end right there for you.
It may put your mind at ease.
To call her or not to call her is not what I was worried about(I personally will not be calling that number again)...I was worried other of her clients might call her and that guy getting madder and madder with each new call and he ends up doing something rash
BTW In case you are worried...she doesn't advertise here and has no reviews of her at TER(not even by me)
This is why I'm posting my concerns HERE and not where she normally advertises...if that guy has access to her computer he might be going through the history of her computer too
I know I have to protect myself(and I will) but the fact is she's a nice woman and I worry if she keeps getting calls(and that guy who called me is her father(and HE'S the one hearing the messages)) he is going to be making her life a living hell
But I also don't want to screw up her business if she somehow gets this whole thing to blow over...it is still barely possible since this was her NEW phone number most of her regulars may not know it yet and what I said in my message wasn't enough for him to know she is escorting(he knows SOMETHING though because on the phone he was REALLY mad)
Should I post at her normal haunts and tell guys not to call until she contacts everyone again?
I assume that means you're worried about your lady friend. I would be as well. That is why I think you need to contact her to see if she's okay or needs help if you want to offer it.
I guess I'd go with email or a posting where she advertises.
As I've been thinking about it... having anyone phone the new number isn't good unless you know her real name. (Trying to pass yourself off as a civilian friend.) Have you tried the old number?
...when this blows over she may contact you to let you know she's okay.
I don't think you should warn guys off her. Presumably the damage is done with this boyfriend/husband/father...
It's the lady who needs to be informed that her phone has been intercepted, but she probably has found out by now.
I am not sure how you could really discretely contact her to check on her welfare. There is always a remote chance that the communication would be intercepted (doubtful).
If the new number she gave you is a cell phone, it should need a password to retrieve the messages. So how could this guy be able to listen to them unless she meant for him to hear them. If the number she gave you is a normal phone with an answering machine, then it is pretty stupid of her to give it out knowing that the guy will be able to hear the messages unless (again) this is what she intended.
If she is doing this to purposely get the guy upset, then warning the other guys not to call her wouldn't matter because she will just find more guys. If this was all an accident, then she probably already realized what happened and stopped giving out her new number.
Whether or not you need a password to retrieve voice mail on a cellular account is dependent on the cell provider and the person to whom the account belongs. I can speak from experience that SPCS, by default, does not require a password to check voicemail from the cell phone. I've used Verizon with the same result. My mother has used two different cell providers, and neither has asked her for a password when she retrieved voicemail from the cell phone.
So yes, it's very possible (maybe likely) the person who has the cell phone can easily (and seemingly is?) retrieve voicemail from the account.
It started with an email- maybe he broke into her email account and is setting up the new # to catch every caller's # (with caller ID) and threaten those guys? May be not so, but thats just me being the paranoid I am!
She called last night and we talked for several hours...according to HER she has NO idea who could of called me
I have an internet phone and ONLY those who I give my number to can possibly have my number so the ONLY way he could of called was to have listened to the message of my calling her and giving her the number
She did say that since she got the new phone she hadn't up to then put in a new password for her voicemail so it was simply whatever the phone company set it for(probably something like 1234 or something simple like that)
Anyway we tried to figure out who could of called and in his message he mentioned my seeing her in a town in between where we both live but in my message to her that night I made NO reference to that town...our next meeting was to be at MY home for a weekend
To me this means he is someone who both had access to her phone long enough to listen to her messages AND knew me enough to know where I usually met her...she says she told no one and that no one has acted unusual around her after all this
From what she said it seems the caller could not be her father as he is elderly and in poor health and doesn't know what she does for a living nor has he had access to her new phone
Until her most recent call I had decided it was doubtful I'd ever see her again...something strange was going on and I couldn't figure out just what it was
All this is very mysterious but for one thing...
My best guess is that she is lying to me and she DOES know who called...when she called last night she knew about that person calling me...I didn't ask her how she could possibly know about the call(the ONLY way she could know is if that person who called ME told her about it)...I was curious about what her explanation might be
She says she is moving out from her parent's house and I'm thinking this has something to do with the call(her Dad just might not be as sickly as she makes him out to be...if he found out about her this might be a mutual decision for both their sakes)...this also means her Dad has known for some time about her since he knew we had been meeting in that particular town he mentioned in his call(I hadn't seen her in that town for around a month now) so he's had to know about her for at least that long
Jeeez this is like a freakin' soap opera...I no longer feel I have to worry about her and I doubt very much whoever(if was her dad or not) called me is going to contact the police
I do wish she hadn't lied...I know her business is HER business and she has every right to settle it however she chooses but the ease in which she lied to me(I swear if I hadn't already had my suspicions I'd of believed everything she told me last night...she was THAT good at lying)
So here's the situation as I see it...whatever problem she was having with whomever called me she believes she has fixed it and still wants to keep our weekend meeting in several weeks
On my part while I'm not thrilled she's doing all this lying it is something you kind of have to accept in this business(I suspect the lies in any meeting outnumber the truth telling...the ladies say what they figure the guys want to hear and the guys say what they think the ladies want to hear)
Of course I like her(still)...I never would of set up a weekend at my home with her if I didn't like her but does this change enough things to cancel our weekend meeting next month?
BTW Not to mention the nonrefundable/nontransferable round trip plane tickets already purchased but they are a factor in what I decide
Anyone have a comment other than I must be some kind of moron to even consider still seeing her again?
Yeah, I'd say moron would be a fair statement.
If you even think of seeing her, how could you even have a good time? May be a setup for a bad experience. Move on. End of story.
Bottom line - she's in business and likes you well enough to stay withyou a couple of days.
Enjoy it and don't dig too deep unless you want to make her a part of your life....
Good luck.
