Ah, The never ending lessons of the hobby.  

I booked an appointment with a provider through p411.  I called her on the day of the meeting as she instructed over email and she began to give me directions to her incall.  At the end of the directions I was supposed to wait for her to call.  I asked if this was her incall, she said no, it was a "reference point".  This was confusing to me, I have done this 5 times before and it was always meet at the hotel and then call for the room when I got there.  
She asked if I had done this before, and I started to explain my confusion and she cut me off saying I was "wierding her out", then hung up.  I respect a provider following their intuitions, even though they were wrong in this case, and do not harbor any resentment against her.  I was just wondering what this "reference point" business was all about.

I wouldn't do it that way. Were you aware of this protocol before you called her?

This is not really uncommon. A call to get directions to a way point, a call when you reach the way point before the lady gives you final directions to her incall which will be very near the way point usually.

Sometimes the provider herself or a third party can observe you at the way point, check you out.

This is most commonly used by providers with fixed incall locations.

EG it is not uncommon for a provider working out of a condo complex to direct you to a spot inside the complex to park and call, but that point will be several buildings away from her actual location.

As long as the lady is *very well reviewed* go with the flow.

Realize also that some really smart ladies who work out of fixed incalls will only give you directions in dribs and that during this process you are being evaluated for risks. Some will also have rigorous "contact protocols" specifying how you dress and act and what path you take to approach their incall.

Respect their intelligence and their safety needs and you will show yourself worthy of their trust.

I've never had it done to me but some girls do work this way.  My hunch would be that the ones who do tend to be extra cautious.  Some ladies are also "weirded-out" more easily than others.  Just chalk it up to experience and move on.

I think use of the word "Incall" may have freaked her.  Some ladies are touchy about exact wording.  
I have had ladies give me a second call location othr than their door yard.  
One dirrected be around the block to park on the other side.
Another was a spot where she could apparently observe from a window in her location.  I was at the wrong entrance when I called & she replied "I can not see you."  I explained where I was & she watched me pull up.  

You were wrong to put words into her mouth.  If she'll even take your call now, you should appologize.  The ladies want to know that you can follow simple directions since their safety depends on it.

and I've done it twice.  My main reason was b/c during certain times I would see someone post abt being robbed, LE showing up so don't go to...(whatever incall area has the problem), or even someone calling leaving an anonymous message to be on a higher alert b/c LE is active in the area.  I really don't like doing that b/c if the gentleman is legit then I believe our experience will be blemished slightly since now I have to spend extra time to let him know I'm not LE either.

Yep! Pretty common in my neck of the woods. As pointed out previously, not good to be explicit in communications. I did run into similar trouble my third time out when I got to the reference point twenty minutes too early, and couldn't find a place to park, so called the lady for instructions. Bad idea. She did end up seeing me, but she and her roommate looking me over pretty closely, and it probably wasn't as good of a time as I would have had if I had just followed her diretions.

since I have a stadic incall so that I do not have a guy hanging out in the entry way calling me for added info or early trying to kill time out front.  It is never a really good idea to hang out front of a location, better to drive around.  However I have a few locations near that hanging out in a lot in case I am not quite ready is more acceptable and doesn't draw undesired attention.

You would like for us to be discrete, it is an added way of making sure you are also able to be fully discrete.
