One of the reasons I pursue the hobby is that it eliminates the guess work of chasing women. Simple physics:  money = access.  See, I have plenty of years on me, and have no shame in my intellectual capacity, but one thing that I do not understand is the messages given off by women, and then what to do about it.  Hence, I resort to the easier route.

So, here's a reality check question to a group that doesn't hide their true opinions:

Just how often does that slight glance or smile from a woman really mean that she is interested in you?  How often does it really turn into either a) casual sex, or b) some promise of further involvement.

And I mean in reality, not the media-driven fantasy.

I had an extensive dating life.

A lady who found my dating experiences fascinating and is including them in a book (I dated her briefly) had me pull out my notes a while back just for raw numbers. I kept detailed notes and logs during the dating phase of my life.

Rather than give numbers, I will use percentages. Remember, these are MY experiences. YMMV.

Women who will say yes to a first date: 30%
Women who will have sex on a first date: 8%
Women who will have sex on a second date: 15%
Women who will have sex on a third date: 34%

Add 34+15+8 and you get 57% of women will have sex by the third date. But only 1/3rd will agree to even a first date, much less sex.

I am not, BTW, particularly attractive, IMO.

I'd say you're pretty much right on for most of us average looking guys.

One has to beware though that she's smiling just to stifle a laugh due to our fly being open, we've got toilet paper stuck on our shoe, or some sort of other public blunder. :)

The initial attraction IS a physical one. I'll give you that. Is the potentiality of sex ALL that keeps your interest? Man(gender specific)is a sexual creation.

If you knew that there would NEVER be any sex, would you continue to court?

So you're not n attractive man huh? lol

So it wouldn't count as very good research by modern standards.

Good thing I asked out 17XX women. LOL It was the sheer numbers my lady friend found so interesting.

Your conclusion is inaccurate.  Only 57% of 30% of women will have sex by the third date.  Remember, 70% of those who did not say yes to a first date never got to a third date.  That means only 17% of women will have sex by a third date.

That research was all from a 3-4 year period of my life.

To be brutally honest, I am not proud of it. It was the result of deep hurt in which I had lost all faith in the authenticity of any human action.

I wasn't really pursuing sex; but it just sorta happened. More often than not, it was something I did more for the woman than myself. The interactions are complex.

Ultimately, I found the process empty and unsatisfying. It also tended to confirm rather than repudiate my concerns about the human condition.

Which is why it ended.

But I DO retain friendships or friendly acquaintanceships with some of the people I met.

When comparing to those who were asked out.

Of course, most men don't get yes 30% of the time either.

Plain and simple: some girls just like the attention.

I have numerous female friends that have been in long-term monogamous relationships, but if we go out to grab a drink, you'd never know. They smile, bat their eyelashes and soak up any and all attention they can get before they will finally tell a man that they are taken. That's usually at the end of the night when the guy asks for her number.

A lot of them who work in customer service like flight attendent or waitress get paid to smile, but that doesn't prevent men and even some women from thinking the smile means more than it does. IMO

I was never very good at math!  The easiest equation of all...if she says no, it is her loss!  Forget her (as soon as you are able) and move on to the next one.  Find the one who will appreciate you for YOU.

I'm sure i'm not qualified to hear your confessions.LOL

Nor was i looking for any.

I was simply hoping that dating has been an issue of sex for you. Lets make that a rhetorical question. That way the 'confessional' isn't required. lol

But, no, even with providers I have to admit it isn't solely an issue of sex.

I'm too danged grown up for my tender years. LOL

No typos, and pretty concise and to the point (rare on this board!).  I like solid statistics myself.  They are easier to back up than personal opnions.  Maybe you should have written the book, not your lady friend.

So according to your numbers... 57% of the 30% of women you ask out will sleep with you.... So if you ask out 100 women, you get to sleep with 17.1 of them on average for you... not bad... but I'm guessing providers aren't includng in that statistic?  Not bad, but not great either!

Either I get cussed out, slapped(or both), or thrown to the ground and get a proper boinking.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... ;)
