Do you see providers without ads?  Talking about the new entrants.

I have to really read these preferences.  I just saw a preference from a provider ad for 45 year old men and older.  She was in her 30s.

Do providers lose a lot of cash if they set those kind of preferences?  And other preference by race, do they miss out on a potential market?

Any Provider who advertises preferences is cutting herself out of a potential market. BUT, she has every right to set her preferences as she chooses to do so, just like you gentlemen have the right to have preferences of the types of ladies (age, size, race, etc.) they want to spend their time/money with.

If they are not wanting to see those they exclude, they really are not missing out in their eyes. To those excluded, I can hear the resounding..."their loss". Again, not their loss if they don't want to see them in the first place.

Providers make choices based on a number of criteria, and those that I make are made with careful consideration. I want to see those men with whom I am most comfortable and with whom I feel  has the best level of compatibility. If that means exclusion of some, then so be it.

Any limitation that a provider sets eliminates a potential market but, clearly, by setting those limitations they are saying that they don't want clients who fall within those limitations.  P4P is certainly not the only business that does this.

The fact of the matter is a gals rate determines market more than any other single restriction she could list.

I think that the lady knows what type of guy she likes to see. If she is comfortable with a set demographic of clients, then she will most likely be into the experience more. As a result, better reviews and more clients.

Clients know what type of provider they prefer, so it is natural, to me, to think that the ladies also have some preferences. While it is true that money is the driver, many ways to run a business.

Sure, she could be losing out in some way by not seeing younger guys or a broader range of backgrounds, but it is likely that she makes up for it by finding a specialty market out there. If she doesn't, then she just might change have to change the set of clients.

Another way to look at it is through constrained versus unconstrained optimization. If her preferences do not constrain the number of clients she can see (and her income), then it is as if she is solving for an unconstrained optimum. So why not have the preferences in place?

"Specialization, and Division of Labor." Adam Smith just might be correct in this market as well.....

Just my 2c.

Good point, except you are thinking like an economist.  I would be surprised if your average escort is thinking that way.

I have  a theory also.   A lot more women are entering the escort game so you see women that have a set level of preferences.  I am seeing a lot of new ads out there.  A lot of old favorites but a lot of new comers.

Well, reading the posts by the providers display quite a bit of economic thinking, imho. lol.

I share your observation concerning more entrants. I am all for lower barriers to entry and competition in the market to wear me out!

Since we are on the topic.  Do you take one for the team?  I sit there scanning ads but I don't see reviews so I can't do it.  But I want to.

QUE? What? What are you saying?

A provider or hobbyist I know extremely well refers her to me. In that case, I would need to somehow verify her! (i.e., no LE dates!)

How about you? What do you re providers w/o reviews? Surely there is a thread or two on it?

Like you said, there are a lot of new comers.  And some of them look pretty hot.  I usually only see providers with at least one review and if not, I try my best to scan the internet for one without reviews.

by eliminating a certain demographic...some of us just don't care lol. I would rather lose money than be pulling my hair out dealing with guys I did not like. When providers "have to" see anyone for a buck, they become worn out, jaded, and it affects the service they deliver overall. If I were disgusted and annoyed 80 percent of the time with the clients I had to see, I would leave the business.

so much as maintaining ballance.  Most the ladies in this business (or people in many businesses) who focus on strictly maximizing their income wind up bitter and burned out.

Income is obviously important in any job.  But so is being able to set your own working conditions, staying in control, and enjoying what you do.  Successful people in any field tend to be those who can ballance all those aspects.

I turn down clients in my line of work because I do not like associating with them.  Does it cost me?  Sure, but for me sanity it is worth it.

PS:  Those who prefer gentlemen over 45 are just showing good sense.  Those who prefer gentlemen over 55 are just brilliant!  ;)

If a provider has these preferences does not necessarily mean she is missing out on a whole lot of business.
She might be perfectly fine and have a lot of business with the preferences that she is more comfortable with.
If a provider was worried about the money she was missing she would adjust her preferences or just not have any preferences.A provider has preferences for a reason better to state ahead of time what her preferences are so there is no confusion and no one's time is wasted.

Perhaps older guys tip more, and they probably are only good for one pop, unless they are on Viagra...lol.

Older guys are less likely to cause drama, ask for off the clock dates or become stalkers.

Your point about the Viagra is interesting.  If older guys take it it's because they need it to maintain a normal, healthy erection-which is something a woman can handle.  When younger guys take V. for "recreational" reasons it gives them a jack hammer erection that will cause most providers to put the guy on her do not see list.

Again, it's all about maturity and not being a handful to deal with.

shines a light on the age difference between Bostonguy and Oxlong. :)

I love the wisdom of older men. ;)

If every provider saw just anyone who walked through the door at a bargain basement rate, it would be harder to keep the money distributed to everyone in this business. I see younger guys, no one over 6 inches, don't do outcalls, and am only available about 10 days a month. All of those things have caused me to be extremely low volume and miss out on money. I also charge twice what providers in my area are asking for, so it balances out. I don't see as "many" guys, but I still make what I need to make.

***Gulp***

If I fit within her preferences chances are we'll have a much better time together.

..... with no one being a day under age 27 (but I make SOME exceptions for military active/reserve/retired and have seen some 23-26 yr olds and they were perfect dates).

Us guys have preferences for blondes, brunettes, thin, BBW and so on.

We try to find women who would fit our wishes and when providers gives out their preferences, that helps up out.

The older men are usually the ones with a lot of cash and established in their professions. I don't lose money just because I don't see 'younger men'. And I DO see younger men who are responsible and mature and have solid references.  And as far as race is concerned, I don't give a damn what race someone is, as long as the money is green and they are respectful.

I have been turned down by providers because I haven't met their particular set of criteria.

No use getting bummed.  It happens.  Move on.
