My first prostate exam was with my regular doc. He was a GP I'd known for many years, had many conversations with and I felt we knew each other well. When he finished, I said, "I feel we are so much closer now," thinking he would get my humor. He looked at me weird and hurried out of the examination room.
In High school to play football, I was required a physical from a DR. outside the school. I went to a general practitioner who took blood work and checked my heart and lungs. When he put on his glove with a devious look on his face, I asked what he was planning to do. He told me, I said NO Thank You . He claimed no prostrate exam, no OK on physical. I submitted to his exam while thinking he is enjoying this more than I could imagine, wondering why he was panting. A few years later he was arrested for fondling patients with devious desires. Screen your Drs. as well as your providers.
During my annual flight physical (military) our flight surgeon had a bizarre sense of humor.
He kept a rubber hand around for the times he did his prostate checks. You be all bent over, trying to relax... The rubber hand would go on one shoulder... one real hand went on the other shoulder... then BAM! you get the FIA, and you're left wondering for more than a few seconds what was going on...
