The term pre-screening is sometimes used to screen somebody before a definite date has been set up.  It's like getting pre-approved on a loan -- you can walk into the car dealership or go house shopping without having to worry about IF you will be able to get that loan.

Same thing for our hobby.  A guy can get pre-screened for some date in advance.  Then, when the schedules work out, he just contacts her and all they have to worry about is setting a time.  Pre-screening also facilitates setting something up on short notice.

Is there a difference between pre-screening and screening?

Also, as I'm on my my feet I might as well ask this too, does anyone know what pro-active means? Does it really differ in meaning from active?

BTW - I have figured the difference between pre-cum and cum!!!!

G.

pre=before.

So, pre-screening would mean before the actual screening.  Or it could just mean the lady would like to screen before she shows up to a city or in advance to a desired date.  So, if I pre-screen you prior to my showing up to a certain city I won't have to screen you once I get there.

Pro-active means you take active measures to prevent anything from happening.  Like the defensive team is pro-active in ensuring a TD won't be scored.  Or I am pro-active because I like to pre-screen! LOL!

I think you just made my point.

Pre-screening = screening!

Playing active defense is the very same thing (in your book) as being pro-active.

Ergo - no difference.

Thanks

When I use the term "pre-screening", it's usually in regards to an upcoming tour/trip. Yes, it means "screening", but I use the "pre" to indicate that I will be screening BEFORE I leave for my trip, not during my trip. So if you really want to get into semantics, then yes- there is a difference.

screening = screening before a date
pre-screening = screening dates before a tour

You yourself just noted the difference ;)

If you suspect you might like to see a given lady in the reasonably-near future, you might send her your screening information so she can screen you at her convenience.  Some ladies are organized enough to do this, and some aren't; some don't choose to put that much effort into it, or to keep records that detailed.

You do this so you can call her when you're available on really short notice -- "My 2:00 meeting was just canceled, so I have 2 hours that have freed up suddenly; can I see you at 2:00?".  If she doesn't see non-screened guys, you either have to be pre-screened, or hope she can get you screened on such short notice; if she isn't using a verification service like Preferred411, that's nearly impossible.  Some ladies won't even try; if you ask for appointments on such short notice, they'll just say "No".
