In my mid 40s I am not going to lie to myself by believing that I can still perform like I did when I was in my early 20s. Although I still have a high libido my body just does not respond like it did 20 years ago. Over these past 4 years I have tried several supplements and have had mixed results. Here is a list of what I have tried and the results.

Viagra 25 and 50  RX- Both worked but the side effects were awful. Headaches, nasal congestion and eye redness. Also I lost some feeling in my cock. Grade D

Cialis for everyday  RX- Worked well but again the same side effects as Viagra only a little milder. However, the erections would lose pressure and become soft after 5-10 min. Grade C

Prolatis  OTC- Rock hard erections and lasted longer. The headaches were worse than the ones that Viagra caused and even caused some hand and feet swelling. Grade D-

Stamina-RX  OTC- Milder version of Prolatis and worked very well. Nice prolonged erections and good sensitivity. I had a heightened sex drive for a good 24 hours. headache, some minor stomach upset and diarhea were the only setbacks. Grade B-

Rize2  OTC- Worked a little too quickly and stopped working just as quick. I took it two hours before my appointment. Within 20 minutes I was highly aroused. By the time my appt came around the effects had worn off. Almost Zero side effects. I will give it another try before I grade it officially. Tenative Grade C+

Staminol  OTC- I had the best success with when I took two capsules everyday for the week. Good libido booster but I not as good when I took it the day of the appointment. Almost no side effects.Grade C-

Black Pearl OTC- Moderate boost in libido and performance. The whole bottle caused nausea even when taken with food. Half bottle hardly worked.
Grade D

Tribestan OTC- Started to work after about 10 days of taking two pills per day. Made me very horny and aggressive. Kind of like taking steroids. As the matter of fact I even had an acne breakout. The erections were not as hard as with Viagra or Prolatis but definately gave me a boost. Grade B-

Cobra OTC- Moderate boost in libido and moderate boost in erection firmness. Minimal side effects but made me want to pee all the time. I guess the Saw Palmetto was kicking in. Grade C-

Horny Goat Weed OTC- Hardly worked. It did make me a little more aroused but the erection remained pretty much the same as if nothing had been taken. Maybe in combination with another supplement it would work well. Grade F+

Sinrex  OTC- Worked well when you stick to the plan. Minimal side effects, good erection response and libido increase. Minimal side effects. Grade B

Please feel free to tell me (us) about any thing that has and/or is working for you as well as results from any of the above mentioned products. As you see I have yet to find anything that I gave an A to so maybe your input can help me find it.

all of that junk. I'm 58, on several medications already, and know I have limitations. I've learned to live with and work around them. Just make sure (as I'm sure you already have) to check with your family doctor afore diving into pill bottles.

experimentation. You stated that you still have a high libido, and you may just have to get used to the fact that you are a bit older now. Instead of changing drugs, change the way you use your time with the ladies. Plan a little extra time, and enjoy the journey. I tried a few herbal enhancers, with the advice of my son, the herbalist, and my doctor. One of them did the job as far as the erection went, and I could keep getting hard over and over, but it was nearly impossible to finish. After frustrating a few ladies who probably thought they were doing something wrong, I decided to go it alone. I'll be 58 in two weeks, and it was a good decision. I've found that by not putting too much emphasis on my performance, and accepting the fact that I'm a bit older now, things have actually improved. I may not reach a second destination, but I sure enjoy a second journey, and sometimes a third. The one thing I will do is to let the lady know that it may not be there to the end, and I'm okay with that. I just wanna play.

If you take ANY prescriptions, you should discuss any supplements you are considering taking BEFORE taking the supplement. Also, if you are already taking a supplement regularly, it is important to mention them when your Doctor asks you if are taking any other medications.

stay well hyrated, practice progressive muscle relaxation techniques, if you're on meds discuss side effects and possible ED sparing alternatives with your doctor

To me, it's a bit scary when I hear of all the non Rx meds you've tried.  You are asking for a stroke? You can't have everything.

cialis, viagra headaches being too much, blurry vision, upset stomach.

i get the most positives responses and least complaints from stamina rx.

guys taking heart medication, blood pressure medication, or antidepressants have a hard time finishing but i've actually had a few use the stamina rx with very good results.

It is expensive, but I do get a firm erection with it. I had no side effects either.
It does not seem to last quite as long as Viagra, but it serves its purpose. I would rate it a C+
Encore tabs have been taken off the market by the FDA, because they worked too well. That was the absolute best ED product that I have ever used, bar none.
The horny goat weed gives me mild effects, but works a little better with a can of Red Bull.
Cialis works for me, but not nearly as well as Viagra.
I will be interested in trying the prolatis.

I think there's something to it, and no side effects either.

Neither of these products is approved for use in the U.S. and I haven't tried either.  I'm curious to hear if any hobbyists or providers have any first hand experience with these...

Uprima is the brand name for Apomorphine which was originally used to treat Parkinson's Disease. Unlike Viagra/Cialis/Levitra it "act(s) upon receptors in the hypothalamus, and can enhance erection by increasing the signals from the brain to begin the process."

Befar is the brand name for Alprostadil which is the stuff that is injected directly into the penis in Caverject.  But Befar is a cream applied directly to the penis.  Supposed to start working in 15 mins and last 4 hrs.  Main downside is that the cream must be kept cool or it loses its potency.

Anyone care to share any first hand experience..?

It seems to me from your extensive researches on this subject that there are two components to your data.....One is the pharmacoloigic effect of the drugs you have tried>>>>the 2nd is the amount of anxiety about whether the drugsd will work for you in a session where you have been "primed."  I think when it comes to the actual session, you are so full of anticipatory anxiety that your actual performance decreases, the way anxiety of any sort will do.   I would agree, to get rid of the pills, or, if you must, take a bit of the best one for you, and deal with your anxiety....but most of all, have fun, which you cant be to the fullest when you are so worked up re pharmacology and your performance.  I am 70, and going strong, though clearly not 35 anymore.......try to have fun....that is what this is about after all.  I have had no complaints from the lassies......

I am the same age range as you, and to date have not felt the need to take supps for performance.  My regimen is strictly for prevention of many other issues that can pop up as we age, and for general nutritional support.    

As far as performance goes, I have found that not taking matters into my own hands for a couple of days before playing, getting as much sleep as possible, and minimizing alcohol consumption during that timeframe work best.  And make sure to take your vitamins and supplements!

tired and depressed from all of that shopping for something that doesn't exist!  You also spend way too much time reasearching all of these medications for their side effects, then find out that you get them....only because you know what they are to begin with!  You are a "hobby hypochondriac"!  There are too many guys who, as you stated, do NOT need ED drugs yet that think they are going to be the fountain of youth.  They aren't.  The help when you really need them...and NOT the nonsense herbal remedies.  Most any improvement you notice from these is a placebo effect....nothing more!  
If you don't need ED drugs...don't subject yourself to potential side effects or harm using them.  Wait until you DO need them, and the benefit to risk ratio is more to your liking!  Just accept the fact that 40 year olds are NOT the same as 20 year olds!  The ladies do!

What about the natural way?  I've been seeing that celery and almonds are good foods to increase the libido and sexual virility.  Any heard about the effects of these?  Celery is said to increase volume of sperm at ejaculation which is a cool benefit. I wasn't able to find how much you had to eat or how long it took.  Anyone tried this before?

for me, a nutritional diet and proper exercises on a regular basis works for me. i dont believe in any of the drugs youve mentioned nor taken them. never had and never will.
