MrFisher, where have you practiced tantra?
I blog about Tantra as well as practice and love to hear feedback and thoughts on personal practice.
What have you found to be the benefits or results that are different?
"TANTRA is a combination of two words, TANOTI and TRAYATI , which mean 'Expansion' and Liberation' respectively. Therefore, it is the activity of expanding the consciousness and liberating the energy. Tantra is the way to attain freedom from the bondage of the world while still living in it... Bring joy, happiness and relaxation into your life. "
When someone asks me what I do I assume they mean, "for a living".
I explain a bit about Tantra; how I teach people to tap into their sexual energy to connect and empower their lives.
I have done initiation weekends that are secret. The reason we swear secrecy is that to take any part of the weekend off the mountain is it diminishes the experience for the initiate. I feel Tantra is similar. It is an ass-backward way of marketing, however, if the attraction is only marginal the teaching will not be profound. When teaching lands on fertile ground it has an opportunity to grow. If not, the seed will land and not germinate.
I like this explanation: "“The point is to channel all the sexual energy that would normally leave during an orgasm, back into your body. It gives you so much energy!”
"Sure enough, achieving the big “O” is not Tantra’s main objective. Instead, you attempt to prolong the act, increasing potent sexual energy and intimacy with your partner. If you focus solely on the grand finale, you’ll miss the amazing range of feeling the rest of the show offers. “Sexual energy is one of our most powerful energies for creating health,” says Christiane Northrup, M.D., author of Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom. “Through the intimate connection with another, our stress hormones lower and our serotonin shoots through the roof.”" Tantra for Beginners.
Not all of us are lucky enough to have a relationship partner. I decided a long time ago I like sexual connections. I also learned I do not like the idea of marriage. So, what to do? I was married, and see how that turned out. LOL
I avoid relationships that I do not fit, and therefore had a flat or non-existent sex life. I am very keen on my magnetic fit with another. I want to fall in love. Until that happens I will nurture all my relationships to therefore nurture others. I believe that we are meant to connect. On many levels. For years I connected in all ways that were not sexual and felt like I was dieing inside. My art was flat, my creativity was stifled and my heart felt heavy.
When I discovered another way to connect, one without the tight constraints of relationship goals attached to every encounter, I began to wake up, to experience life free of my judgments of myself and others. I really felt the "other".
I channel my life-force, my energy, my unique voice, my only existence I know of, fully in this experience. I want to WANT and be WANTED in a divine way. I love the desire. Desire to create art, experiences, love, eat, connect, feel amazing feelings and move energy in a way that is satisfying and awe-inspiring.
So, using Tantra to connect, to "explore my edges" as a dear friend of mine says, to move energy and feel other voices of the Universe, is getting lucky. I feel lucky every day to have this tool, this ability in my life.
I also know how powerful Tantra is, and I use my powers for good, not evil. I allow connections to unfold, not force them, and create authentic sincere moments. I am not an actress. I want to meet life fully and truly in a way that helps others do the same. I can create any story I want, why not this one? Where Tantra is my super-power and I use it only to change the world one person at a time.
