Three people can keep a secret only if two of them are dead.  The only possible exception is if you know that your friend (also with an SO who does not know) also hobbies.

How many of you with a SO have told a friend about your hobbying?  If so, do you regret it?  Did the cat get out of the bag?  Did the info make it to your SO?

It's not a secret if you tell someone...

That's why you should keep your mouth shut!

Facts say that most men are shopping! He probably does too!

If he's a GOOD friend, then tell him. Maybe try him out by saying that you "cheated". Trust your gut.

Not that I am embarressed at all.  I spent 21 year in the military and had a clearance.  You dont tell even someone else with the same clearance unless there is a "need to know".  If you tell no one then there is no one to open thier big mouth.

and thats the lady I am with.  I am pretty sure she knows that I hobby.

I don't have any "civilian" friends that I would care to share with.  Now, if I happen to make some "Hobby" friends, thats different.

"What you see here, say here, do here, stays here when you leave here". Its always served me well in the past.

"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" only works if you are the only one in Vegas.

who are single and have nothing to lose. Some people can't keep their big mouths shut and they end up regretting it.

You have little to gain and a lot more to lose.

Just the other day I was riding to a meeting with a co-worker and somehow the discussion got on to the topic of how stupid it is for the government to outlaw P4P sex.

I agreed whole-heartedly with him and I suspect he was fishing for more, but I wasn't dealing.

But I know he knows.

We hobbyists (and I bet providers too) have a certain aura to continances.

but this is a secret world.  Friends become former friends, other's values & judgements get put on you.  You never know when a drunk or vindictive person will twist what you told them.  It was not in reguard to hobbying but I told my closest friend personal medical information only to have him broadcast it to people I did not want to know.
Even if I was single, I'd keep this separate from my civie life.  Why?  OK, single guy...  you are about to get married, your best bud has been drinking stands up to toast the bride as the girl "You gave up whoring for!"
NEVER discuss beyond these boards.

As a single guy, I agree!  None of my civvie friends know about my hobbying and I want to keep it that way.  Better safe than sorry ...LOL

I asked myself whether I can take this to my grave.  Yes, and that is my final answer.

If you rob a bank and get away with it......Why the hell would you tell anyone about it? Only going to bite you in the ass!

Only one of personal friends knows, and that's because he dabbled in the hobby for awhile before going back to the civvy game, and we compared notes, since we both got in around the same time.  No regrets...we only discuss this superficially at best now, and I keep everyone else in the dark among family and civvy friends.   Note: the friend does not know my TER identity, and wouldn't be likely to guess...
