When meeting TER buddies...confused_smile

Scenario: you dont mind meeting up with select TER buddies and making new friends, but still don't wish to give out your work info to this relatively unknown dude from who knows where... at least not just yet.

After a few drinks, this friend says he enjoyed hanging out and likes having a hobby buddy.
He hands you his business card.. Yeah, with his work number, email, address, name and all. :s
Now there are close friends who find out my info over time and gradually, but this dude I've only met once. Lol

What do you think is the best/polite thing you would do?

1. Politely say you dont carry b-card.
2. carry a fake b-card (I've done this too lol)
3. Hand it back to him and say lets keep our personal info separate for now.

I'm sure there are some who don't give a shit and that is their right
but nobody in the hobby needs my employment info.
No upside but a whole lot of downside when shit hits the fan, especially so because there are cases in my area where ppl use it against one another to save their own ass.

I often don't want strangers, hobby or otherwise, having too easy an access to reach me. As we all know some hobbyists are as clingy as the GF's and wives we are trying to avoid. Having a "new best friend" that calls you ten times a day is something I can do without.

Fortunately Caller ID is a wonderful thing. I do the same as with GF's, answer only when I feel like it. lol

Little Phil used to do that to me too... :D

Do what you gotta do, but I'm holding you to meets for drinks and chasin' tail!

Besides, I gotcha on speed-dial now!...

You fucked up, lol!

you seem to enjoy getting attention from guys more than from ladies

Didn't know that side about you lol

I'm an attention whore. From both the guys and the gals. ;)

He does not know you from Adam, really.   Use real first names...  If you/he wants to stay in touch, hobby email, hobby phone.  This is a solitary hobby...  people get themselves in a world of hurt if they get "outted".  Guy or Gal, security is not something to take lightly.  I'd avoid anyone on either side of this fun activity who does not understand this.
