Ok, so it's gotten a little chilly outside and a couple of mice decided to move in with me. In my quest for a humane trap (which took several hours to discover), I came across the MiceCube. PERFECT!

Well, I woke up this morning to find one of the little fellows has discovered the MiceCube as well....it worked! GREAT!

So....I take the mouse in his MiceCube down to the end of my drive and let him go....run little guy, run!....you're alive and free once more!

And run he did!....straight back to my front door....and into the mouth of my big black tom cat.

SO.....how was everyone else's Monday morning?

Oh my goodness, reading this post brought back a few memories for me.  *lol*

I had a problem with field mice getting into a couple of residences I've had in the past.  I, unfortunately; didn't opt for a "humane trap" cuz I knew the lil pishers would find a way back in if I let them live.

You're a kinder, gentler hostelier (*wink) than I was.  I noticed a substancial increase in my grocery bill when the mice took up residence.  They HAD to GO!!

Your Tom did his job! Just one of the myriad reasons we love them so.  Bet he enjoyed it more than cold friskies.

Bless your Tomcats little heart.  His DNA runs true.

Back when I lived back east, my cat caught a little field mouse that had wandered into the house- I rescued it from her and took it across the street to the field there and released it...

And came back and gave my kitty copious amounts of love and cheese.

But yes, being humane to animals is the best way to go, any way possible, (but I'm still gonna eat 'em ).

yes they do carry disease and i can only hope that the cats that are doing their jobs are protected by the owners with shots,flea and tick killers.
if the cat gets sick from the rodents they can bring the disease into your home to your family. Though most house cats if fed properly will not eat the rodent but play with it till death they can still contract many parasites and disease so be areful for yurselves and your 4 legged buddy.

My kitty loves meat. I think if he were ever given the chance to get near a mouse, he would have the biggest smile on his face (after he's gobbled the mouse whole.) As it is, he'll try to knock cold cuts out of my hand as I make sandwiches, run towards any meat I pull out of the oven, etc... God help me when I bring home Grandma's left overs from Thanksgiving. He'll do anything for turkey. Mice better fear my neighborhood if he ever got out...
