Why Are So Many Hookers Broke?

It looks like TER has deleted threads from the "crew" but have no fear I'll pick up the slack.

One would think that being well paid for taking the high hard one and guzzling ball snot day after day that most hookers would have a nest egg.

Is the cause poor financial planning? Is it from too much shopping? Bail warrants? Drugs? Boyfriend's drug habits? Any insights as to why so many of them are in financial distress?

1) Some have pimps, never have understood why that is necessary.
2) Addiction to the lifestyle, money, spending, etc.
3) Financial literacy is a learned behavior, some simply haven't learned how to balance it.
4) Money turns to greed.  Greed turns into overworking.  Working out of necessity equals burnout.  Burnout equals lackluster performance.  Which equals declining demand.

listening to providers complaint about business being slow (ironically it was OTC).   My conclusion from my own sampling is that they may be great hookers, but many are weak or else lazy in marketing activities.  Many think they can just throw up a nice-looking website and customers will be breaking down their door.  Many will be in the midst of a good run of business for a few months and will cut back on their marketing, like pulling ads that have been running for awhile, or spending less time on boards or PM's with customers.  Then things come to a screeching halt, and they are scrambling around trying to get business.  Marketing activities must remain in place during good times and bad.

I have not seen a hooker hire a call-center in India to do cold-calling, but I think it would be an interesting experiment.  If they can sell a rip-off like solar panels on the phone, pussy should be a piece of cake.

I think no one will care about what you have to say. Your posts now sound more sad than before :-(

yesterday's potato salad, and the more you expose it to the air, the more its going to smell, and the smell will be coming from you.  Everyone else has moved on.  No drama needed.

No one wants to "buy it" anymore. I am glad to see you haven't been bullied off the boards by the likes of this rapscallion, Sasha. :)

Yes, but instead pussy should be "easy as pie"

Hookers (some/many hookers, not all) are broke all the time for the same reason/s that a lot of people who make "easy" money are always broke. Look at pro athletes for example, how many of them end up broke despite making more money in a single year than any hooker could make sucking five lifetimes worth of dick?

I can relate to blowing money that comes easily at a young age. I made a lot of money in my teens and early twenties, but I always managed to spend more than I made, I think part of it is the knowledge that just like a hooker, I knew I could always make more money, so being broke carried no fear for a single guy like me who knew he could always make a move or two and make a few grand even without having to wait for a paycheck on the first and the fifteenth like a wage slave. Hookers are much the same. A hooker can be broke in the morning and make several grand by the evening, they simply don't "fear" being broke and like most young people  (myself included when I was young" they think the "easy money" will always be there.

Very true.  It also takes money to make money.  If you blow all your money and enter a slow period with very little you can get to the point where you can't afford stuff like hotel rooms or advertising.  It's hard to get out of that "I can always make more money" mindset but now I always set aside a good amount for expenses.

There was a point quite a while ago when I'd just pay for what I had to and never really factored any of that expense or budgeted (or what would happen beyond the next 3-4 days) because I knew I could just make more money... until that didn't happen and I had to figure out how to bail my ass out.  I kind of resolved myself at that point to actually budget things assuming there were going to be times I didn't make much, as well as preparing for an exit from the industry at some point in the future.

I now have a pretty detailed accounting of everything and make sure that I always have operational funds to continue to work and I replace that cash before I consider anything else. Tuat tracking of operating expenses has kind of been a boon in terms of attitude. Knowing where you need to be to break even, an then exceed that, is huge.

On my personal situation, I know if I have access to money, I'm probably going to spend it... and probably all of it. So I don't give myself access to it at all. For me that means no money in bank accounts because it's just to easy to keep swiping a card through a machine. I didn't want to just start horsing cash in my house because that's just asking for a Robert and loosing everything, so instead I move that cash into assists that are hard to get rid of but retain a lot of value. So I invest in bikes (they hold value surprisingly well), a lot of funds and bonds that have maturation times associated with them along with heavy penalties to incentivize not getting rid of them, precious metals, as well as a good ol' safety deposit box. I throw the occasional gold/silver/platinum bar into the safety deposit box with cash all banded up and gave my friend the key for safe keeping and to take away the urge to just drive to the bank and grab a stack of cash. They need an ID to get into the deposit room, so I'm safe guarded against someone going raider and robbing me.

I use to do a lot more BitCoin trading, but because it's electronic and easy to move, coupled with it being such a volatile market, I've went to the former options instead.

So far that's seem to work pretty well. I keep just enough cash to make it a month touring and have the rest out of reach. It gives me the incentive to work (if I leave myself little more than a shoestring budget, I have to work to stay moving, which dissuades me from just sight seeing and mountian biking the entire time).

I've experimented with different ways of saving money as it too tends to burn a hole in my pocket  (along with family members that always need help).  This is going to sound silly but my most successful way of saving to date is sticking cash into one of those old fashion piggy banks with no hole at the bottom (etsy) and sticking it in a safe.  Only way I can get to the money then is breaking it and it took a huge emergency to do it.  Investing seems like a better idea though, especially the precious metal bars.  I also wish there was a time locked safe with a slot on top but the closest thing I've found to that is one of those kitchen containers.

Yep, and unlike you, their money making skills have a shelf life with declining sales due to depreciation of the merchandise, so to speak.  So remember ladies, for every cock sucked or fucked, throw 15-20% of that profit into an IRA or somesuch, cuz someday you're gonna be old an unfuckable.  Sorry to be blunt ladies, just the Gods honest truth.

Spot on truth!! Perfectly stated!! To quote George Bernard Shaw: "It's a pity youth is wasted on the young."

I wonder how much cash is easy to have taken (and more valuable to the person taking) than various personal possessions.

I also wonder if the "always broke hooker" is not itself a bit of a myth and way to increase income for some.

But clearly the stupidity of youth will have a much larger impact to those making a living in this service area, they face a situation similar to an option -- decreasing value over time -- so their ability to save from any disposable income is diminishing.

It's perfectly permissible to simply make a new OP on a topic if it is of interest to you.

Just because the link was posted on the P&R thread where DFB posted vile comments about a gold star parent, he decided to post on the thread from two years ago bumping it and now here we are.

It wasn't 36363Jensen who revived this thread, my bad. It was indeed Onceamoronalwaysamoron. The ONLY poster who refused to condemn DFB for his uncalled for comments directed at CDL I might add.

No worries on that GaG, after posting I noticed the date and was like "What?!! Why am I in this old thread?"

These girls have things to pay for like the rest of us. The girls that depend on this kind of work don't get a steady paycheck like most of us. Business for these girls can be busy one week, then nothing the next week. I help my two favorite girls as much as I can.

...working some shitty job for 40 years with "well paid for taking the high hard one and guzzling ball snot day after day" and you get many Americans financial situation.

And come on now monger, when was the last time you delivered a high hard one, the century that started with 19 ?

MfSD>>>>

You walked right into that one.  LOL

lucrative as many people think.  Let's pick a price point...say $400/hr.....

First the gross margin is $400 (gm=revenue-COGS) as pussy doesn't, in an of itself, cost the provider anything.
So lets start out with expenses for a date: ( i usually underestimate income and overestimate expenses)
Room = $200
Shop Costs (make-up, travel, outfit, toys, etc. etc.)  $50

So, for ONE date, she is only making $150.  Now if she has one date/day, 5 days per week (on average), that's $750/week and only $39,000K. Yes I know girls have extended dates, and multiple dates/day sometime but this is kind of a baseline.

So, lets see  what a lady has to do to make $100,000 in this model.
The easy math is 250 visits at $400/visit.  Spread over 50 weeks, this is the 5 visits per week I noted above.  However, when expenses easily eats into this at approx 50% (rounded down for the math), this lady is seeing 10 guys per week.

Yes, I get it that there are extended dates, etc. etc. etc.  But the cold hard fact is that ladies are seeing between 5 and 10 guys PER WEEK to make anything near a lavish income for a single person (median family income in the US is about $50K).  To make that $50k, it would be 5-7 or 8 guys per week.

Now everything I've noted about is PRE_TAX!  and I would hope all the ladies have a way to pay taxes on this income.

I know this is an over simplified model, but as the song says "She works hard for the money"....it's not as easy as everyone thinks.

Plus I don't think I could fuck 5 to 10 different guys/week and stay sane.  It's gotta be emotionally draining.

I would hazard to say that most aren't paying taxes, and those that are likely aren't claiming everything they make.

Also, depending on where you live, that 100K can be closer to 60k after taxes. All the more reason to claim like 30k and pay taxes on that instead.

GaGambler218 reads

If a woman is seeing only one guy a day at $400 for the date and spending $50,000 on rooms, she's an idiot and deserves to be broke.

As for seeing 5-10 guys a week and maintaining your sanity, As a customer I've gone years on end seeing 5-10 women a week with no ill effects, although I am sure others will question my sanity. lol

Why do you think your seeing a provider and a provider seeing you are the same amounts of energy output? I'm truly curious.

GaGambler155 reads

Lots of providers see 5-10 guys a week, and there are a LOT of providers who can see that many guys in a single day. How many guys do you know that see 5-10 providers a week? I bet you the number is pretty damn small.

So actually I believe it takes more "energy output" for a guy to see 5-10 women a week than for a woman to see 5-10 customers a week by far.

Yes, but you have a lot of information before you choose the 5 - 10 per week and you are far less likely to be 'uninspired' (for a polite word) by what you find when the door opens.

GaGambler171 reads

It was supposed to be a joke that I as a customer is/was seeing just as many women as "some" hookers were seeing tricks. People are so fucking literal around here, especially the up tight ones like Scarlett.  I don't know her, but judging from her posts of today, she doesn't have much of a sense of humor and takes herself VERY seriously.

But if we are going to be literal, any woman seeing two guys a day and charging $400 hr "should" be doing quite well for herself, if she isn't I am sorry, but I can't muster up a lot of sympathy for a girl who can't make it on that kind of cash flow.

I found your comments to be right on the money - literally- it was more about your discerning eye given the descriptions of the women you have seen.  Keep keeping us honest - and if not honest, at least keep us laughing.

It's ok Jack - GaG was being funny too which is why he typed Scarlett instead of Charlotte lol

Such are my diminishing comprehension skills  :) I always do so much better when you translate for me lol...

GaGambler146 reads

I will blame this on being stone cold sober when I made that post. I wish I could say with a straight face that I knew what I was doing when I typed Scarlett instead of Charlotte, but unlike Scarlett/Charlotte I don't take myself so seriously that I can't admit a fuck up when I make one.

Chill out GaG...you surely knew I was teasing you?

X

GaGambler170 reads

I will most definitely settle for keeping you laughing.

Or at least those of you with an actual sense of humor, I don't know if you've noticed, but It appears that "some" people here have had theirs removed. lol

JakeFromStateFarm138 reads

1) We are laughing AT you, not with you.
2)  Some of the clowns here have NOT had their sense of humor removed.  They were simply born without one. You forgot that part.  You're welcome.

GaGambler202 reads

For a pedantic putz you seem to have forgotten "you're welcome" really doesn't apply unless it's preceded by a thank you, which even a moron like you must realize is NEVER coming.

JakeFromStateFarm173 reads

But we expect that of you.
So it's all good.
You're welcome.
ROFL

I would totally agree but that was a very very baseline explanation of how it's not that easy to drag in 6 figures in this business.  If I was spending more on rooms than I am clearing at the end of the year, I would definitely rethink things.  I just discussed this with my last appt, she said if she was feeling especially "froggy" she could do 10+ appts a day but of course that wasn't her usual model.  My only point here is that it takes some effort and thought into making it in this business if it's your only source of income.

If you have a lot of whiny, clingy customers.  Professionals are able to separate their emotions from the physical aspect of what they are doing, just like an actress when the cameras turn on.  The ones that are best at keeping professional make the most money, the ones that are less professional often get side-tracked, at least in my  experience.

People who are financially secure, and all secure in the same way.  People who are broke, are each broke in their own way.

And so it is with not just escorts, but a whole array of people who end up broke.   I know because I hear their stories often, and I could not pinpoint a cause.

as a temporary condition, as it has happened to me, albeit mostly on paper.  Being poor, on the other hand, is oftentimes permanent.

This gross, imposing post and many of its equally repugnant responses are the metaphorical equivalent of the sweaty, smelly intrusive man who pushes into you on the subway trying to cop a feel and maybe steal your wallet.

1. Her income is none of your business.
2. Your metaphors are lacking as much information as they are class.
3. These assumptions must have been derived from Jerry Springer audience members.
4. Did I mention her income is none of your business?

Just, ew. I need to go take a shower.

Somebody is awfully defensive about the post.

Did anybody ask what "her" income is?

They CONSTANTLY ask about income. And it is indeed offensive. Why would you want anyone, let alone a lady, need to feel defensive by your impositions?

And... when I DO answer that intrusive question, they complain that I make more than them and that they deserve a discount.

And who else on earth do you even ask that question? Why doesn't your "hooker" deserve that same respect of normal social boundary?

Asking for a friend.

I have NEVER asked a hooker about her finances. They are the ones who want to discuss it with me.

I don't ask for discounts.

Since I'm not mentioning any names, why do you find it so intrusive? If it does not apply to you just skip the thread.

Here's why it's intrusive: it emboldens others to ask their escorts about a myriad of things that aren't appropriate. Whether you ask a specific lady or the masses, the trickle down reaches all of us. My response helps wipe up some of that unfortunate spillage into an otherwise lovely pool.

Did you forget you were going in to read a post by OTM?

> sweaty, smelly intrusive man

Also, where do I get the smell-o-vision attachment for my monitor so I can smell what other people are writing? Asking for a friend...

Lol I am not familiar with most posters here as I only pop in ever so often, but sheeeesh that was quite a read before my morning coffee. Particularly the snot reference.

** Also, RE snot reference: the smelly-ops on the computer are only transferable through my smart screen. They give it to you when you graduate whore school so you can ward off the guys like OP rather than read through the icky linguistics.

The coffee has improved my shock but clearly not resolved my snark. I still wish you all a lovely hump day.

:)

Ah, that makes sense. I only have my Associates in whoring from Whore Island Community College.

And yeah, OTM is abrasive like that. He's never totally wrong granted, managing your money is important and all, he just goes about it about as smoothly as gravel in a garbage disposal.

But the last time I copped a feel on the subway, the lady pushed her ass back at my crotch.  Maybe I wasn't as sweaty and smelly as the ones you get, but I will own that I might have been a bit intrusive.  I will try to behave better, but its not likely I will have much success.

Call Girl, Courtesan, Provider, Lady of the evening...to name a few....and Who said All are broke!!  And whos business is it anyways? not me, I'm rich in many ways.. Hugs and Kisses

One of my ATF's recently told me she purchased a new sports car!  Six or nine months later I found out she traded it in for a new fancier sports car!  That trade alone must have cost her $20k!  I think half of this hard earned hobbyist income goes right out the door for luxury goods! My income is multiples of hers, but I have never dropped a fraction of what she has on luxury stuff like cars,  watches, jewelry and handbags!

Someone should start a financial advisory business helping our lady athletes plan for post career!  A little savings = a little security!

but.. Why you guys worried about how we spend our earned money is my question LOL

I am not surprised to see at all with a few consistent views on here. For some people they suck at managing their own money. It hardly makes to me that they are a bad person.

Some of us can control our spending on the hobby pussy needs while others rack up credit cards or cash in 401k (s).

Some ladies balance their budget just fine, others have habits too, whether traveling, shopping, substance, ...etc.

There was a thread a while back about starting a school for hookers.
http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion-boards/ter-general-12/re-if-you-did-id-open-up-a-school-across-the-street-802725?frmSearch=1#802725
.
And it was started by OTM himself! It looks like part of the thread has been deleted. Alyson (anybody remember who she was?) was going to open Alyson's Academy for Hookers and I was hoping to become Dean of Students at the Mr Fisher Academy.
.
Does JDU have a program for hookers or is it just for johns?

but at times, a school can have a pernicious influence at least on certain trades and arts.

A prominent literature critic was once asked if he thought that schools that teach writing end up inhibiting writing.   He answered yes, but not nearly as much as they should.

I'd hate to see that applied to escorting.

Actually, if it was easy to make money in the biz, everyone would be doing it, thus driving down the price due to competition.  The end result is that the influx of new talent and the outflux of leaving talent finds an equilibrium.  Around this level some will do better than others.  They'll tend to stay in the biz and the others will go find different means of income.

The thing is, you have to compare this income, not necessarily with some Wall Street executive, but with hourly wages for things like waiting tables.  Income just has to be better than that (or something similar) to be rewarding enough to stay in the biz.

'It's not easy money - it's fast money'

I wish I could remember which SW said that some years ago. There's a lot of truth in that one statement..

Because ALOT of us don't make as much money as you think we do.......

Because:

Bills
Family
Addictions
Pimps

And Because:

The same reason everyone else is broke! 😂

....probably the same reason most musicians are....

Many of the ladies that I know are killing it.  Over the years I have seen several ladies save over a million by investing in just a few years.  Problem is that virtually all ladies claim to be "low volume" and only see 1 guy a day or a few a week when in reality many ladies see 5+ guys a day especially ladies that tour or work for an agency.  It is a lot less uncommon than you think for a lady that works for an agency to see 7 or 8 or even 10 guys in a day.  Some agencies schedule back to back w/o breaks.  A little gross but on a good day these ladies can make a few grand in a day.
