The accent alone is a big turn on

I watched the series when it first appeared on UK TV.

I'd read the first of the books but thought the TV show tried too hard to turn it into something else, part rom-com, part sex comedy. While I felt there were parts of it I could recognise as a client, the best views to get would be from any of the ladies themselves, how much, if any, of their lives did they see on the screen

I have watched the entire series. Belle is me. Haha. I love my job and life, and I always put my job first (besides family.)

plus for sci fi geeks like me, it's great to think of dr. who's companion rose providing all across time and space

of course there is some dramatization and glamorization

some scenes actually turned me on....

Her real boyfriend recognised himself when the books came out and eventually busted her identity. She's a research scientist, smart cookie. Yes I felt it was a bit over dramatised and glamourised but real life is frequently stranger than any fiction - particularly in this industry. Most escort work in London is outcall and I mostly do incall stuff so it was fun to see it from another perspective.

The complete series (Secret Diary of a Call Girl) is on Showtime, if you have cable.  I've been a Billie Piper (a.k.a. Hannah Baxter/Belle in the series) fan, since her Doctor Who days where she played the character, Rose Tyler.  Needless to say, she's a very attractive lady.

I was a bit disappointed in the show, but if I hadn't read the blog (or later published books), it probably would have been OK. It got a few things right, but the real Belle, who was eventually outed, would not need to work some crappy office job if she wanted out of the biz as she was a moonlight computer programmer and was about to get her PhD in Forensic Science.  The blog really stuck in my mind, and it planted the seeds for me to enter the world's oldest profession (granted, it took a long time for me to do so).  Before the blog, I was entirely clueless about this side of the industry and had some of the terrible assumptions that you hear in the media, that ladies who engage in p4p are all drug-addicted, screwed-up, uneducated messes.
