someone said they weren't hobbiest ... well this activity I am proud to call my hobby ..in fact i use that term when talking to friends in real life. its a pure hobby ... something i enjoy for leisure, focus on for relaxation and desire to learn more from others about this activity. oh and lets not forget one key item, i spend TONS of my spare cash on it !!

The problem I have with the term hobbyist is that most guys who are self described hobbyists use the term because they are ashamed to just say "I fuck hookers for a hobby" It's kind of like hookers who won't use the word hooker and who get offended if you don't call them by some kind of sanitized term, like "courtesan" or some such shit.
You seem to own the fact that you enjoy fucking hookers, but there are too many guys who try to sanitize or make what they do more politically correct and I never want to be one of those guys. So count me in the camp of guys who quite firmly state that I am NOT a "hobbyist"

For instance, some get pleasure out of insults, or S&M; others don’t get any pleasure out of them, but there are some in every crowd to what floats the boat, so to speak.
In regards to Gag’s reprimand—not knowing him, but my opinion is based on reading his posts over the years, from straight forward to a hell-bent edgy, especially if he thinks you’re being prissy—maybe after a few shots, he just may be the one to call it as he sees it at the family dining table.
I'd agree with this. There's cultures where consensual transactional sex (CTS) is part of the landscape, and no big deal, having a penis pretty much makes you a potential participant.
I find it ironic in the year 2021, where nearly anything goes with sexual identity and orientation, that CTS is still frowned upon even here in the "progressive" SF Bay area.

HAHA well said Twoonbro. When I talk to my vanilla friend (who is still like-minded, just doesn't partake in P2P) about my CF or my recent adventures, I refer to my buddies on TER as "my monger buddies" and we talk shop on "the monger forum" (I never name the site don't worry guys).
I don't mind whatever people want to call themselves. But I proudly and hilariously call myself a monger hehe. I'll also call myself a john when I'm feeling monosyllabic. It just gives me a good laugh. On the flipside, another friend has once called me "a trifling whoremonger" in anger. Which also made me laugh my ass off, LOL!

I don’t think “Monger” is the correct word for us (see Oxford English dict:
1. We don’t deal or broker the trade (eg fishmonger)... ie we’re not pimps or madams, we’re clients
2. Nor do we solely “promote” the activity (eg a warmonger)...again we’re clients.
So we’re Johns plain and simple.
A monger is a person who promotes a specific situation, activity or feeling, especially that is undesirable or discreditible.
