If you haven't seen this it is hilarious. This is the final play of the game which lasts more than one minute. They lateral the ball 15 times during the play.

Look at the other team as the play keeps going. They are standing around trying to figure out who to tackle.

Depending on the point spread and the under/over, i'm betting a few gamblers ain't sharing your sense of amusement.

Sending the play back on a flag for a false start.

When people start taking it so seriously that they are depending on the score for a bet or making the players into celebrities, there's a problem with society's priorities.  As far as I'm concerned, it's all entertainment.  Why are we paying guys millions of dollars to Play?  I'm just as (or more) entertained watching these guys make a heartfelt, last ditch effort as I am watching overpriced, arrogant professional athletes.

Atheletes have talents which are rare.  Hence, the market rewards the possessors of these rare talents with lots of bucks.  Scarcity = $$$.  As simple as it gets.

About 15 years ago I had an epiphany.  I would no longer follow professional sports because I had totally lost interest, and I hadn't the emotioanl wherewithal to endure the mood swings which acompany rabid fandom.

I tell you, I haven't looked back.  Though occassionally I get drawn into a discussion as an innocent bystander.  I excuse myself withas much politeness as i can muster.

I agree.  In baseball it ended after Koufax and Drysdale.  Football ended with Montana and Rice. All talented and classy guys. Why waste your time on "Neon Deon" and the thugs who now inhabit NFL?

Koufax? Drysdale? Montana and Rice?

Wow. You are showing your age......and mine.

Koufax was my favorite athlete of all time.....and even he "held out" for more money. Not quite the same as todays pampered, spoiled rotten athletes. They have definitely driven me away from my devoted following of their games.

The only professional athletes worth a shit anymore are professional golfers. Integrity and honesty still mean something to them.

Saw Sandy pitch once at Chavez revine.  The fans were mesmerized at his mastery.  Each pitch was greeted with Oooohs and Aaahs.  He probably had twenty strike outs that day.
