Monkey Pox DOES NOT affect those of us who have had small pox vaccine which is most people born before 1976 !!!
Shut it down for a while. Seems like the cases are slowly going up.
On your dick.
With a bit over 3500 cases currently reported compared with the 93,000+ 7 day average for COVID seems a bit too early to get worked up over something. Plus, money pox seems to be much less a health risk than COVID.
It has been reported that a pregnant woman has come down with MonkeyPox. The incubation period is 5 to 21 days (up to 3 weeks) before the spots show up. Hobbyist does not know they are infected see other providers and it becomes widespread.
And that was due to the guy having seen a provider?
One case and we should think it will have a significant impact? How many cases of other transmittable diseases have been given to pregnant women in the past year -- and you can ignore COVID if you want? Less than one?
Sure, there will be some in situations where they should be much more careful about many different infections and those people should act accordingly. Even assuming that all of them are the type of person that actually thinks about that and cares is that enough to move the needle?
BTW, have you seen something that suggests pregnant women contracting monkey pox put the baby at risk?
We are now seeing fatalities outside of Africa.
From WHO website:
"The case fatality ratio of monkeypox has historically ranged from 0 to 11 % in the general population and has been higher among young children. In recent times, the case fatality ratio has been around 3–6%."
"Although vaccination against smallpox was protective in the past, today persons younger than 40 to 50 years of age (depending on the country) may be more susceptible to monkeypox due to cessation of smallpox vaccination campaigns globally after eradication of the disease."
Stressing about monkeypox can also be fatal.
doesn't seem like it's a major "thing".
Not everything is a major global pandemic, as Covid has been.
you have some immunity.
Smallpox vaccine was widely distributed until 1972. Providers might only start seeing hobbyists born before 1971.
No its more scare tactics. The media are not happy in the last 2 years unless we are all terrorised!!
Unlike Covid, the signs of monkeypox will be very obvious once contracted. I doubt anyone would try to hobby under those circumstances whereas you could never detect someone who is asymptomatic with Covid trying to hobby.
Having read the reports and news articles it does seem like there are two things going on. One, those in charge loved the power transferred to them during Covid so much that they are looking for the "next" crisis to manage. And 2, the gay community wants more attention paid to this so health care resources will become more readily available to their members.
The easy solution for those most at risk (gay men in the US) is to quit having sex until you receive a vaccine.
Yes, I see it impacting the hobby. There are already providers on Twitter who are inspecting their clients bodies upon arrival. I can see this leading to providers once again not willing to offer GFE type encounters ala COVID.
should check always not just because monkeypox.
Hopefully vaccines start to roll out for a wide more population because now it seems to be very restricted in some areas.
I had my first shot already, fortunately, no side effects so far. Not even sore arm, so that's good.
I believe I had to wait for 4 weeks for the second shot.
Who fucking believes this ridiculous government anymore.
start cross-contaminating innocent straight people via incidental contact. For now though, at least in the US, Monkeypox is only a problem for gays who engage in promiscuous sex.
Cuz even you can't possibly be that dumb.
You can't really believe gays will "start cross-contaminating innocent straight people via incidental contact." That's so far-fetched in terms of actual, real-life spread as to be ridiculous.
Please take your toxic, ignorant homophobia back to the P&R board.
You're an embarrassment.
gay partner's anus for monkeypox pustules before plunging in.
Hmmm. Not sure what you're thinking in terms of cross contamination but there reviewers on TER who see both female and TS providers so you would think they carry a higher risk to spread this outside the gay community.
I saw a report that a guy who did bbfs with a provider got monkeypoxx.
Also I heard about a report where a guy who was into eating providers ass and getting his ass eaten now has monkeypox. Sores on his face and on his ass.
Strippers in NYC are complaining that business is down because of fear of monkeypox.
Where is this report?
Monkey Pox will affect the HOBBY as much as the current & past virus have up to this point. So, what do you think?!!
The Post actually did some good journalism in laying out all the Monkeypox missteps by those in charge. Turns out there is more to governing the USA than solar panels, EVs and windmills.
Absolutely. There's countless number of ways the government will scam you
Hello folks,
I wanted to post this as a thread but was told to post it here directly: I would like to ask besides wearing condoms and taking STD tests and all the other steps to practice safe sex, what else should heterosexual hobbyists do to prevent themselves from getting monkeypox since we don't meet all the requirements for the vaccines right now?
Please share your opinions and advice. Thank you in advance!
