I see it as only getting better from here on out!  YES, unfortunately, there will still be isolated incidents of horrific violence and personal tragety... But OVERALL the tides are turning!

What other methods of verification would you use outside of date-check and how far would you go to extrapolate what you need in order to make a sound choice ? I know that in the civilian world it is also common for women to google potential suitors. I was wondering have you done that as well?.

Concealed carry is legal in quite a few states, including mine.

My general thought is that escorts carry a lot of cash (or, at least they do after they've seen me -- lol), so just on that basis alone they are no different from the owner of a jewelry store.

I know a lot of ladies are pretty liberal and wouldn't trust themselves (?!?) with a gun. But some WOULD. And the bad guys would never know which lady had a Glock next to her condom supply -- and that would be a huge deterrent.

Criminals are looking for disarmed victims and easy marks. They aren't looking for a challenge or to risk death themselves. Once a few escorts popped caps in some scumbag ass, the whole world would change.

Or, then again, guys could just verify themselves so they can be held accountable for their behavior, and escorts then need carry nothing more dangerous than their professional skills.

Never own/carry/use a firearm that is of such caliber that you cannot control the recoil, as you may need to fire more than one shot to stop the son-of -a -bitch.

Yes you ladies should be able to protect yourselves, but however anyone and everyone who has a firearm MUST know how to use it, control it, and all the safety stuff.

I'll settle for providers carrying mace, but what I'd rather see is ladies screen well so that they don't need to use anything more dangerous than a DFK. (And with some providers, that's absolutely deadly -- lol)

Of course, some would argue that what providers do might be illegal. And if that's the case, they most assuredly shouldn't be armed -- especially with a firearm -- while undertaking such an endeavor; because that could tack on 5 years of jail time all by itself. So under the status quo -- I totally agree that mace and/or some self defense training is a good idea but firearms aren't.

As for being disarmed -- yes and no. People who are properly trained in how to use a pistol for self defense are trained in proper weapon retention so that, ideally, even a bad-ass like myself wouldn't stand a chance.

But, it is a sad reality that many are not fully and properly trained; and also don't have the proper attitude. When you produce a pistol in response to immediate, inescapable, life-threatening risk -- you don't engage in idle conversation like in the movies. Instead you yell as loudly and as terrified as possible for the individual to stop and then keep shooting until s/he stops. Places like Gunsite and Lethal Forces Institute (my fave) offer appropriate training.

I realize this is a horrifying image to contemplate. But consider the fact that in any lethal encounter between two people, only one walks away. 9-1-1 doesn't respond quickly enough to prevent a murder. Only one person is already on the scene and capable of stopping that crime.

Admittedly, I have some biases because I like the providers I have seen as people; and think they are good people. I would rather it be them who walks away.

I've always felt funny about them anyway and, frankly, I really don't want some lady to know what other ladies I may have slept with. It's really nobody's business.

But at the same time, if a guy wants to skip that, he should really be willing to share his valid identification with the provider in advance so he can be verified, checked against a sex offender registry, etc.

Each to their own, and as they choose ot do it.

A funny correlation coming to mind are drug dealers.  Back in the day, the friends in my social circles always knew EXACTLY who their dealers were and the dealers knew who they were.  They also didn't stand on the street corner serving everyone, they relied on word of mouth referrals.

Without going into a rant I'll simply say that it's remarkably ignorant and heartless to say "we do it to ourselves."  You know, when someone gets raped or murdered THEY did not do that to themselves.
