i got an email from a lady friend in the biz this morning asking me to post this link as a PSA. she also asked for my opinion on implantable versions saying she'd feel more comfortable "going out" if she had something under her skin.

i have a couple of thoughts:

1) it's better to be safe than be trackable. screening and/or reference checking is more effective security.
2) implantable versions are available. (you can find one for your pet on Amazon.) having one that is qualified for human use is out there i'm sure too.
3) there are apps for smart phones that i think can perform the same function.
4) as a client i wouldn't mind a GPS tracker.... i think clients would likely be concerned that there was additional tech like a recording device or a bug though.

BTW, i wonder why she didn't post it herself of course. perhaps it's her UTR/retired status? anyway i've not gotten bit by doing a little favor for her now and then. so i'll make the post and see what happens.

It was the Christmas season back in 2009, I believe, when I first saw commercials for the product in this link...

I'm just flabbergasted here. Why.....WHY would you buy a provider a car? Why even LOAN your car to a provider??

I'm gonna take a wild shot in the dark here and assume that, at a minimum her rate is in the $200 an hour range. She's earning an hourly wage on par with doctors and lawyers, and you think she needs help????

Do yourself a favor fella, stop hobbying. Its not doing you or your wallet any favors.

oh and PS. Here's your sign.

...trust me, the accuracy of these "personal" units is garbage.  You will be lucky if you are within 500 feet of where it says that you are.

And no matter what the sales guy says, it does not work under trees or inside a building.  You may obtain a solutions but it will be no where near accurate.

And if the FCC follows through with granting LightSquared a wide spectrum adjacent to the current GPS frequencies, be prepared for everything GPS related to go to hell in a hand basket.  Will possibly impact cell phones and your 911 systems as well.

AT&T phones use the cell towers for location and get to about 3 or 4 hundred feet. I bought one for a provider in Feb and used it to track her lies. They work but not that close to accurate. You can set it to check at preset times so you don't need to be at your computer when you want the location checked.

Yes she was driving my car but said she was with another provider instead she was with her pimp in my car. Her lies to me caused the checking up on her. I bought the car for her to get around DFW not for her road trips. I had insured the car for her to drive not some gold toothed pimp. OOPS he is not her pimp he is her butler that she bought the teeth for.

You all sound like a bunch of parrots. When some one (ANY ONE) says they would like your help them  and you are any kind of a person you try to help. In this case it was a scam. I bought a non hobby phone for her with GPS and other goodies. It dawned on me I could track the phone and by doing so proved she was a lying bitch.

I say some stupid ass-shit on the boards sometimes, that's for sure.

But you flat out, in your username, said you bought a provider a phone so you could catch her in her lies. If you didn't trust her to begin with, why would you go to the trouble? Should've told her to beat it, and that was that.

The car. Blah, blah, blah. Good luck with that.

NOW, you went and tested the ire of the other ladies, you fucking idiot.

Here's a little something I want to share from the Phoenix board a few days ago....

This dumbass motherfucker pretty much fucked himself, not unlike what you just did here.

You'll notice the amount of hits to his thread, and was pissed on, shit on, beat the fuck out of by both guy and girl alike. Mostly the ladies.

Soooo, I can guess your little trip on the TER train has come to a halt. Hope you enjoyed the ride! ;)

but your points are all valid from an engineering POV. we may differ in that i think the 500 feet may be a _little_ pessimistic but i think we can agree that the accuracy is insufficient for someone to walk up to you, look in the eyes and say "hey there!" certainly obstruction of the line of sight by buildings or other objects you can't see through is a major deficiencey.

as a security measure for providers..... they are not worthwhile. careful screening or reliable referrals are better.

in a worst possible case scenario.... someone with a GPS implant might not be recoverable whether dead or alive.

ladies, please KNOW the SOB your going with! unless you are really getting off on risks!

Well I guess you had to be there. I got sucked in for sure. She had me believing she was getting out of the business and I in all honesty was attempting to get her a GED and into school. She became a part of my family we attended get togethers and other functions. It all came apart when I was able to prove to myself that she was not telling the truth. It was hard for me to believe I could be so wrong. I was on another thread about the pictures I had taken while she was on outings with me and my family. So from an old fool trust but verify. Oh and her rate is dropping  each month.

threads back. You were told then to drop the woman. You were told then that she'd "proven" to be unworthy of your help. That should have been enough.

But no, you have to come on here and tell us that you're STILL helping her, plus you're WHINING AGAIN about how THE SAME PROVIDER lied to you and everything else that you touched on before.

She's a PROVIDER, Tucson. A provider has more than one client. This one simply happens to be managed and as such, less than you claim to want to put up with.

Man up, get your car back and move on to SEVERAL different providers. Don't get stuck on one or stuck on one just like her because then we'll have to hear this all over again.

How much more direction do you need?

Never mind; on some level you must think you deserve this kind of treatment.

when my cell phone won't work in my current store because there's too much metal in the building, then I don't think a PSA will work there either. And some hotels are FULL of metal!

Hmm... wonder if they're going to insist that Alzheimer patients will have a microchip put into them like a pet...?

and run not walk away from her.

And in alot of states even if it were his car in his name,if she has keys she has express permission to do whatever the hell she wants with it and theres nothing short of a civil court judgement to get it back.

but you already know that. lol

I don't let my bad experiences keep me from helping others, but I am very judicious about who gets my help after being burned a few times.

I often come across as quite jaded by my words on the boards, but I do ocassionally take a "leap of faith" and help someone, but I do so with my eyes wide open, and like you I don't give anything I can't afford to lose.

Hope your next lady is more appreciative.

Hey I got my car back in Feb. She and I are no longer communicating and I am on to others. I am enjoying my life. Missmelissa still blames me because her phone won't ring. I have nothing to do with her at all. If you pick up a hot horseshoe and it burns your hand you don't pick it up again. Others that she shit on and I will every so often laugh about her drama. Her folks are still friends but that is the nature of life.

Missmelissa needed a procedure to get money from her video site so early on I opened a joint checking account with her. I was able  to transfer funds from my account to hers. Her video account from overseas deposited $2,600 in to the account. When the shit hit the fan in Feb. she had $1018 in the account. So I transferred $1000 out the account. I used that money as a ransom demand to get my car back. Her pimp threatened to trash the car unless I gave him the $1000. After a week of ranting we struck a deal I got the car back after I could check it out then i gave him the $1000. I gave the car to my grand daughter so every thing worked out. They needed the $1000 real bad as she did not even clear expenses on the trip to Indiana and Nashville.

Ditto on fooled once is enough. I was pulled in thinking i was going to help someone get out of a bad spot. The kid she lost custody of do to prison time struck a cord with me. I have raised four children and I know how much I love and cherish them. At first I thought that the little things that didn't add up were me not hearig right. But the BIG lie was that she had a five year old.... Never married just a long string of pimps. I believe this one is the forth one.

OK, here's the thing.  If someone's a hard-core addict, the odds are really, really bad.  They have to get to the point where they need to decide if they want to live or die.  Sadly, many die.  Along the way, though, they will suck you dry.  It's a very tough call as to whether to help or not.  It's great if you do, just don't have any illusions.
