I'm thinking about putting out a really unflattering picture

I recently had a photoshoot.

While the photographer was adjusting the light he caught me completely nude in only a pair of heels in front of a white background.

The picture looks like what a woman looks like while trying on bathing suits in a department store.
No flaw left hidden.

I'm always picked on because I'm photogenic and my weight fluctuates.

I'm thinking about putting it out there along with the other images just so that one can say that they didn't know what kind of figure I have.

Clients, is that a bad idea?  Glamour shots and then a dead on body shot or two, un-retouched no matter what kind of figure she has?

No pictures on the General Discussion board : ).

Its just a hypothetical question right now though I already think I'm going to do it.

post it on one of the regional boards 'ladies theme days', not like it's your web page, those pix tend to be a little more raw, & not professional or photo shopped.

Because most clients don't read discussion boards; they're just here for the reviews.

I wouldn't want the picture to get lost in some discussion board where it wouldn't benefit me in terms of clients who want every flaw displayed under a bright light or else they'll complain to the high heavens about photoshop and angles.

I have mixed feelings...  we all have unflattering views & angles...  well, I sure do!  LOL.  I would not want you to put up a worst case photo designed to make you look bad.  On the other hand...  title it "without makeup"...   maybe.  We all know such views exist...  when a lady is over me, I only notice the good views anyway.

thanks for the input.  I also put this on the PO board and I think I'm going to do it.
It will be in my best interest to post *everything*.

Just me saying...but I'd much rather see an untouched photo than a pro job....

Either way, I look at performance more than looks.

If we have to explain why you should not do it, you should read or reread some of the books below.

Best.

Wings and fly Little_Bird.

Let us know what local board you will be posting on.

I would like to take you under my wing, and we will not tell anyone what goes on there.

Thank You

As someone who has spent 25 years in market planning/strategy and a fair amount of advertising too, all I can say is DON'T DO IT.

I could give you the long version with all the reasons why it's a bad idea, but please, just take my word for it.  You never undercut your own marketing message, send mixed messages, or do anything to present yourself in anything other than the best possible way.

That's the sort of picture you show friends in private, not something you use to advertise to potential clients.

image of you, then I would not use it.  If the pic is a true image of you, then you may choose to use it.
