Has this happened, and how often?  

You finish a session with a client, pick up the envelope, walk out and in your car, you find that it's 'light'--less than you had cited on your website or something.  Or even, before the session, the envelope is in the bathroom where you are changing clothes and you take a peek in it.

What do you do?

Confront the guy and risk an ugly situation, or at a minimum, perhaps taint the atmosphere of what just happened?  Or just walk away?

I can see a couple of scenarios. In one case, the guy is trying to rip you off.  Or, as I've seen, some ladies' rates appear to be different, depending on the website they are posting their donation rates. I've seen differences of up to $200.

This is a very interesting question! I'm brand new and luckily haven't had to deal with this situation but I'm curious too how others would handle it.

are the reason I have to be treated as a potential stiff myself.

if its at the beginning of the appt, I will adjust the time spent, if he stiffs me, I will stiff him on the time spent.
if its at the end of the appt, then depending on how mad I am, I will make a hey ooops you gave me the wrong amount email, or just not see him again,

I would say something...I never check until after I leave...however I would have no problem in calling and saying...I had such a Great time...I hope You did too...and hopefully they would respond and say they had a Great time as well...then I would say Awesome...I'm on my way back up for a $50 tip...lol...I would make light of it...however I am Happy to say...my envelope usually has more in it....than what I ask...I only see the Best

this has happened to me once with a long-time regular. he left, and later when i went to check the donation i realized it was just slightly short (20 or 40 bucks). i immediately assumed it was an unintentional error...fresh crisp bills can be tricky to count. as perhaps half an hour had gone by since he left (obviously, i don't rush to check the envelope, lol), i knew it was too late for him to come back. so i just called him, let him know of the error, and said he could just make it up next time. he apologized profusely, we joked about his senility (lol), chatted a bit about the lovely time we had shared that day, etc. a month later when i saw him again, he did indeed make up the short with interest...he got me a Stephen King novel i'd been wanting!

i do not know what i would do if someone intentionally short-changed me...call me naive, but i just do not see this happening with my intensive personality screening and the very intimate connections i make with my clients. a guy with the psychological make-up to pull a stunt like that 1. would never make it beyond step 1 of my process, and 2. would never have the patience to even try.

Little did you know that after reading a Steven King novel you're gonna want to hold something tight. "Luckee Luckee Bastard" as Eric Idle would say.lol

The first time was when I saw a "regular" I've known from the past when I used to work for an agency. So after I left  I realized he shorted me $45!  I was more disappointed than angry.  I didn't call, go back, nothing; I just really let it go.  Just a reminder to be sharper in the future, even with "regulars".

The second was more recent abt three wks ago in which I went to see a gentleman who I've booked twice before so this was our 3rd encounter.  Well at the end of this one, he hands me the $ & for a quick second I was just abt to put it away, but something said NO! Yup! He was $40 short!  No way in hell I was letting this go! Politely & straight-forward I told him he was short $40; he quickly looks surprised & apologizes & then proceeds to get his wallet to give me the difference.  By this time I'm downstairs by the door waiting for him, but when he does he walks pass me & down to the basement.  Afterwards he comes back & hands me the difference & says he had to get more from his office desk downstairs b/c he didn't have it in his wallet & again apologized.

But yes, I do feel his purpose was to short me b/c if your wallet is empty, which I saw when he reached for the $ the first time, then why would u say to me that u gotta get your wallet?  Next, he ended up going to his hm office in the basement for the rest.  Needless to say I will not be seeing him again.

Now when I'm meeting the gentleman I just nicely get the "business" stuff out of the way first this way if there is a shortage, it can be addressed early.

Try asking for a change, you'll be surprised (in a good way) that we are understand too.

It is best to check before the gent leaves- sometimes errors are truly unintentional---you'll get good enough that a quick scan will tell you if everything is ok.  That will avoid fury on your part and embarrassment on his.

...that SK novel happened to be particularly frightening...kept me from getting a good night's sleep that whole week. and i do relish taking solace in a man's strong, comforting arms...

It was in my coat pocket. We had such a great time, (it was our first time together). She didn't even know it, hadn't looked for it yet as she was still in the jacuzzi when I left. I called her from downstairs and told her what happened, apologized profusely, etc. etc. Took the envelope back up to her room.

She was so happy I didn't stiff her he invited me back in...for the night.

Guess she was lonely!

it has happened a few times and since I am mostly incall, I can check shortly after he leaves and call if it is short.  There is a bank right down the street so there isn't an excuse.

If I were to be on outcall I would just call from the lot.

As a provider you prefer to think it is an oversight and give them chance to make it up quickly.  If not, well that is what BC and Black lists are for.  Not so much to black list them but to make others aware so it does not also happen to them.

I love what I do, but there are gifting outlines that I expect for the fun that is had...

I was wondering after you have determined that he is not LE why don't you ask if you can count it. That is a good way to confirm that everyone is on the up and up.
