ok, several times it has been written that there is a correlation between hobby expertise, right to comment and the number of reviews....

I've more hobby experiences that would be reflected by the # of my reviews... and my hobby experiences span several decades (interrupted by my 10 yr marriage).  I use to write reviews under a different TER handle as well... however, the # of my posted reviews has little to do with all of my experiences... from truck stop hot tub parlors... to AMPs to internet escorts.... to AFF experiences to strip club encounters dating to the late 70s....

I would like to see some estimation by both gents and ladies about # of reviews as compared to total experience....   that is - is a person with one review (either hobbiest or escort) more experienced than the # of reviews would reflect... I suspect that it has little to do with anything.

The number of reviews or the amount of experience is not what is important. In order for members of this community to be useful to one another, there must be credibility. If a person has many reviews but the reviews seem suspect in that the meeting never occured, or that the review was in some way inaccurate, that person loses credibility despite experiance or number of reviews. I don't have alot of reviews, but I have never faked a review or misrepresented what happened in a review. I hope this comes across when another person uses my reviews to make a hobbying decision. When I am going to make such a decision, I try to assess credibility based on the quality of what has been written, not on the quantity of reviews the writer has.
My 2 cents.

My first encounter was in December 2005, and I didn't start writing reviews until a year later, so I've seen a few more ladies than my 15 reviews would indicate. I see some gentlemen here who have been around a lot longer than I have, but have the same or fewer reviews. That goes for some of the ladies also. Most have a lot of very good advice and are more than willing to share it. Then I see others who have been here a considerably shorter time than I have, and when you read their posts, They too, have some good things to share.

Since hobbying involves a lot more than two people getting together and having wild sex, I think, no matter how long you've been doing it, we're all still learning. So, as far as expertise goes, I'm just glad for the ladies who are willing to help me work on that. The right to comment is equal, no matter how long you've been here, and none of it has any direct correlation to the number of reviews.

And then, of course, we do have the occasional dipshit with 50 or more reviews, who hasn't yet, and is highly unlikely to ever learn a damned thing.

My hobby experiences number well into the four digits, but I have never written a review. so I guess I am not in the camp that believes that the number of reviews is a direct correlation to the hobbyist's  experience.

I believe the right to comment  does not extend solely to those of us who have years of experience, but I do believe that relative newbies should take a moment to absorb a little knowledge that can be gleaned from the more experienced members here before they claim to know everything about how the hobby works after only a short time experiencing it first hand.

Those of us who haven't been around as long can get some excellent advice from the more experienced. I, for one, have heeded the advice of many of the ladies and gents here, you included. This place is just a wealth of information, not to mention, just a whole lot of fun.

I have been at this for about 25 years--many years  before TER came into existence.   It was certainly hit or miss in those days, but there was no place to post the good and the bad.  Even now, I only review a small portion of the girls I see, even though I tend to see the same girls over and over if I really like them.   I don't think there is much of a correlation between the number of reviews and the number of experiences.

I didn't find TER till last year. I'd taken a six year hiatus from the hobby and during that time the hobby changed dramatically. I'm thankful TER is around as it takes many of the unknowns out of the hobby. I agree that the number of reviews a person has certainly does not necessarily reflect the experience one has in the hobby.

I don't keep track of notches on the bedpost, and there may not be that many for me, but the total spans my adult lifetime (with many years of time out or living overseas)and goes way back.  The hobby has changed enormously, and generally for the better for all concerned.  For me, the most useful reviews are those that stress the quality of the personal interaction, more than a laundry list of positions, although it's helpful to know provider red lines or special talents or interests.  I review only occasionally, if I feel I have something new to say, or if I encounter someone at either the upper or lower range. Thanks to TER I've had overwhelmingly superb experiences, and have learned a lot in the process.

is the TER related threads related to the impact of the reviews and the interplay they have re the board relationships.  Example: review scoring, triggering a dispute with a provider, false reviews, and the like.

I've been at this for 26 years now, and between my time in Germany while in the Army in the mid 80's and the other experiences that I've had, great, horrible, and in between, my experience far exceeds the number of reviews that I have.  I still see some providers who I do not review for various reasons, keeping in mind that if I have a poor experience, I have committed to myself to make sure to review.  Happily, since I now use TER reviews exclusively to research and select providers, I haven't had a poor experience. :-)

It was 1973 in a rather seedy part of Detroit. The whole thing lasted less than 10 minutes maybe, but I’d never had so much excitement and heart pounding thrill before that “moment”. Since then, I‘ve run the gambit of SWers and bar girls.

In my late twenties, I had a “girlfriend” in the business and she almost talked me into “running away” with her, to be her pimp/sugar daddy I guess. HAHAHA I'm sure I would be dead now if I had followed through.

I didn’t find “this” world of ours on the internet until about 10 years ago and joined TER 8 years ago. I have no idea how I survived alone for so long. I probably made it by following the basic rules still valid today, - be careful, - never let “all” of the blood run out of my “big” head. And most of all, - follow the Golden Rule, treating others with the same respect that I’d desire. By doing this, I’ve never been arrested, only robbed twice, but never beat down (came close once tho). I‘ve NEVER had a lady get mad at me for something I did. I’ve met a huge variety of people ranging from bizarre characters to angelic goddesses to very down to earth new friends, but I still have never, ever met a nasty, skanky whore. And by continuing to participate here, I doubt I ever will.

but as a general matter they probably overall correlate.  All folks have seen providers with banned agencies who could not be reviewed, those who were terrific but who asked not to be reviewed, those without websites, and ATF's whom we have seen may times but could only review once (and after a few years in the hobby, I estimate that 80%+ of my visits are repeat - although variety is nice, a certain outstanding experience with someone who's company I enjoy is the best experience of all)so for most everyone the # of reviews is less than total experience, but given that this is what we have to rely on, I put more credence in those reviewers with lots of reviews, particularly those who have reviewed the same as me and who, by the description of the event confirm for me that the review is accurate and real for thsoe that I have also seen.  If a provider has few reviews and each of those has submitted only one or 2 reviews, then I tend to be very cautious.  Knowing I have a great ATF, its hard to justify taking risk for a new experience unless solid reviews exist.

I have an equal or more written reviews compared to your number!  AND if you count all the encounters that I have with gals that are pre-internet and are Way WAy Way off the internet radar (strippers who provide, ladies who provide but only to referred customers, etc) then I've considerably more than you can imagine... and this spans a few decades....   oh.... and do you count the 10 years of matrimonial providing which I am still paying for... on the installment plan.... Bwahahahaha!!!

that seems to be the subject of so much media news... sad that they never actually talk to the ladies who support families, put themselves through school or use the money to follow their ultimate dream...

the ladies that I have met - before the internet and certainly after are just that - ladies.  They are upfront, and honest about who they are and why they are there... few - if any have anything to be ashamed about - including the poor lady who had the misfortune to be with Spitzer... who knew....

Thanks, I feel that my experiences parallel yours in many ways...

I have only been hobbying for a little over 2 years, and have, as you can see, just a mere 15 reviews.  I have seen a few more than 15 ladies, who are local, and reviewing them isn't an option.  I have also seen several of my ladies more than once.

IMHO, the number of reviews does not make one a 'better' or more qualified hobbyist, but what one says in his reviews, on his local board, and on the national boards adds to his credibility.

If you read my reviews, you will see I am not as graphic as many of the guys are.  I describe the action without using the graphic language, and the girls seem to appreciate it.

Anyway, I have had guys ask me for advice, why I don't know because I am not as knowledgeable as many others are, but it happens.

Of course, I have a big mouth, especially when it gets loosened up by beer or booze, and sometimes piss people off, but no one is perfect, least of all me.

So, keep on hobbying, do your research, and have a good time.

I have been around for some time, seen TER site change over the years and probably review 1 out of 4 ladies I see.  Right to comment?  We all have the right to comment, even if you have one review although it is always a good idea to think before you speak.

By the way Bizzaro, what were truck stop hot tub parlors?!!!  Tell us please!?

I doubt there is much correlation between number of reviews and experience.  I have 2 different gentlemen I PM for advice, one who no reviews and the other many.  The advice is equally good from both.
I first started in the hobby back in 1978 or so see massage parlors ladies and the occassional street walker, then the strip clubs in San Fran, ads in the yellow pages.  Got burned once in Phoenix.  Then finally discovered TER.  I feel a lot more secure that I what I want is what I am going to get understanding there is a clear cut ignoring of the rating numbers so you have to read the encounterto find out what happened.  I think I have 10 or so reviews.  Probably not reviewing as much lately as I simply don't feel I am adding to whats out there

1/4 to 1/8 the experiences in the hobby.  First, the ladies whose company I enjoyed before learning about TER and finally writing my first review.  Then, there are some ladies who don't want nor need reviews written about them here.  One lady actually told me TER is too graphic yet she is a porn star) and only wanted a review on another board.  Lastly, the ladies who I see more than once and sometimes more than 3 or 4 times because I enjoy the time with them so much; but, TER doesn't all you to write a review, at least for credit.  I'm not going to take an hour or so of my time to write an additional review of a lady and not get the credit.  Yes, I pay for my VIP as well.

For guys like me who find a few and keep going back...or that didn't write reviews when I first got in to this.  I pay for my VIP so I don't feel obligated to write a review on everyone.  I have done more recently...a lot of ladies WANT them, some have even asked me to do them.  I don't make a correlation between reviews and experience...I just see what the hobbyist has to say....I can tell more from that!

Interesting question.  It made me go back a figure out how long I have been doing this.  The answer is 24 years.  How many hundred experiences?  Who knows?  400?  I guess at least that many.  AMPs, Independants, Agencies, Foreign countries (at least 9 off the top of my head)

Reviews?  On this board?  Not many.  First of all, they have to have a website.  Second, I always ask if they want to be reviewed.  A suprising number say no.  Then there are the ones where I would not be giving a good review... so I don't do one at all.  When I search reviews I look for ave ratings of 8 or better.  Why would I refer someone to a provider I will not see again?

Thanks to all of you that post a lot and stick close to the facts.
