I also think these studies are incoherent babble, just like any study that attempts to establish one group's dominance over another in intellectual *anything*. It also feeds people who really believe in uber/untermensch.
With that said, I think your logic here is a bit off. The reason women get paid for sex and most men don't isnt really because of some intelligence or lack thereof. It's because of supply and demand, even tho it's not really a free market. It's generally harder for an average man to find as much sex as an average woman can, given the same amount of work put in. Men are far less selective when it comes to casual sex.

The "gender studies" departments at universities tend to be staffed by activists that fancy themselves as academics. Journals like this have accepted "studies" that are not peer-reviewed by actual experts, and not really grounded in biology, sociology, psychology, etc.
To demonstrate this, an "un-woke" college professor submitted a hoax study titled "Human Reactions to Rape Culture and Queer Performativity at Urban Dog Parks in Portland, Oregon," to a gender studies journal, which was published. The "investigators" claimed to have surveyed dog parks, examined dog's genitals to determine sex, noted the dynamics of dogs humping each other and the reaction of men. The conclusion was that men must be trained like dogs to eliminate "rape culture." Hilarious!
The senior author is a male psych prof (probably 50+ yo) and he has four young female co-authors with recent BS (double entendre intended) degrees. All are from Department of Humanities, COMSATS University, Islamabad, Pakistan. . (See bios at the bottom of the page at http://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/00332941231152388 .) . The prof was probably fooling around with his naive assistants convincing them of his sexual intelligence OR he wrote the paper in order to defend the murder of women if they don't submit as slaves to their husbands and in-laws.

Women have always been better at addressing the sexual needs of men then men are at taking care of the needs of women. Women are more complex, for men, it's simple. Men only need food and sex to be happy. Ask a man if he's hungry, and if he says no, give him sex. Ask him is he's horny, and if he says no, make him a sandwich. Men are not complicated.

Men and women have different sexual goals due to evolutionary biology. Men will fuck anything because that spreads his genes. Women can't spread genes like that, so they select for the best donor genes. Getting pregnant is a huge opportunity cost. Therefore women demand romance etc, but men are the ones who have to provide it. It's the difference between being a spectator and a performer.
These are always general statements about humans. Individuals vary a lot, including homosexuality. The gay population percentage is low enough that it doesn't really alter the average all that much.
