I'm just wondering how many people here have been rescheduled within a couple of hours of the meeting, or have rescheduled the meeting. What reasons did you have generally speaking?

Just curious.

I've had the family emergency, I'm sick and just a vague excuse. yet if you see thee lady later it seems they can't remember why they blew you off. Must have been some emergency. : )

it was either because of these things
-Aunt Flo came earlier than expected
-something school or work related popped up

Other than that I rarely have rescheduled on someone. I don't like it when someone does it to me so I try not to do it to others if I can help it - golden rule :

family emergencies, etc can always take precedence.

I have been canceled on at last minute several times for all kinds of reasons.  Sickness, family emergency, etc, etc.  The most memorable last minute cancellation was when the provider called me from the cab on the way to the hospital to get stitches in her foot after accidentally dropping a wine glass as she was preparing for our date. I actually did see her weeks later and had a great time.

I have had to cancel and reschedule a couple of times, but I tried not to do it last minute.  Have had the last minute unexpected call up to the bosses bosses office, client issue, etc.  I simply called or texted that I was sorry, something came up and I cannot make it, and let's try and reschedule.   More recently I myself got a bad cold and cancelled days ahead since I figured I wouldn't be 100% in time.

I expect providers to be respectful of my time and I am certainly respectful of there's.  As they saying goes, "shit happens" sometimes and plans have to change.  It sucks, but as long as either party is professional about it, no harm, no foul.  BTW - one provider that cancelled on me due to sickness made it up by offering a little more time OTC when we finally met.  I thought that was a really nice offer.

I was enroute.  I tried to keep driving but it was impossible.  I was stopped in the left lane on the interstate when I called.  Most cars had pulled off.
I'd have not had half my time & she could not push it back...  if I made it at all.  Funny, the sky was clear where she was.  We rescheduled a day or 2 later & had a great time.

This is one reason I try to arrive early...  & after locating the call point, withdraw to the corner coffee to wait discretely until my time.  Hanging about outside a hotel is NOT dicrete.

and work emergencies have to take priority over P4P.

In over 11 years I have had to cancel about 2 times due to illness and I have had providers cancel about 5 or 6 times due to various reasons. In each case, I was able to get together with the provider within a month or so and had a great time each time.

Shit happens.

That's because you taste good--ooops--I meant you have good taste!   I hate it when I type what I'm thinking...  All those little voices are just begging to get out.

I was on my way to Peabody for an appointment and got stuck in traffic on 128 North coming into Burlington.  Traffic was not moving so I called the agency to say I would not make it on time.  I would be willing to cancel or re-schedule.

I was told there was another girl available in Burlington, at the next exit less than 1/4 mile from where I was.  This girl was already on my "to see"  list so I was happy to take the switch.  Funny thing is she was available because the guy she was scheduled with at the time could not make it.  He was stuck in traffic as well.

And the other guy was on 128 South, so he saw the girl you had to cancel. ;)

I was in college in the late 60s just off the 128 loop & even then the traffic was terrible.
