You understood.  Lol

Last week I received a phone call from an unknown phone number. I dismissed it and then it was followed with a disturbing text with photos. This made my heat pound then drop. It was a text message from Jim R Miranda from MS-13. Proceeded to explain how I wasted an escorts time and I will be fined and if the fine wasn’t paid they would come after me and my family. Once again, it was graphic in photos and very disturbing to get a text like this outta nowhere. Then I started to google this and found out it was a “scam”.

My question is this......

Am I the only one or has anyone else experienced  a situation like this and if so, how long did they continue making contact?  Because as much as I block they call from a different number which I made a mistake by answering once and there was an unpleasant male on the other end.

My job requires me to get phone call from unknown numbers so I can’t block everyone but it is really is getting heavy to answer a call nowadays.

Please any heads up or advise that can be thrown my way would be so appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Snake Pliskken, just tell the guy to meet you somewhere and then fuck him up.  Cut off his head with his one machete.  Snake Pliskken doesn't take shit from guys like this. Did you take racial sensitivity training, or what?

Post your home address and cellphone number so that when your stupid fucking advice leads to a hobbyist being harmed that we can pay you a visit.  Is it possible for you to stop being such a douche bag?

If it was me I’d pay the ransom in Monopoly money. That’ll show them not to mess with you.

I have got this before. The first time I texted a girl and she wouldn’t say what part of NY she was in, so I stopped the text. Next day I get a phone call which I ignored because I didn’t know the number. And then I get a text message with pictures of hacked up bodies and decapitates heads. Along with a message that he was with some cartel, and I wasted a girls time. Of course I got nervous as hell, a few texts throughout the day and missed calls. Luckily it was all on voice number that was connected to one one of my multiple BS email addresses. I called one of my buddies who is a state trooper and told him about this problem “ a guy I know” was having. He said don’t worry about it’s a scam. No pimp or cartel member would track me down and kill me and my family aver a couple hundred dollars. After about a day all the BS stopped.

Second time I texted a girl, she never responded and the I got the same text with the same threats and pictures. Just uninstalled the app on my phone.

But rule number 1. If you are going cheap and call the girls on BP or any other random website. Use a burner or app with a BS number. You can have as many G Mails and google voice number as you want. Never use a number that can be searched and come back to your real name.

Please any heads up or advise that can be thrown my way would be so appreciated.
Throw away your phone.

Get a new phone number.

But if you pay once, they'll ask again.

This same scam has been running in different forms for a long time.

That’s cool....

But why calling out  “bull shit”? Are you calling me out as a liar or you calling out the situation?

You have kids?

You have a mother?

What’s “bullshit” about this?

It’s a fucked up mind fucking with people

Asshole.

I'll let him respond for himself, but I think he's calling out that the call itself is bullshit.  He's referring to the scam, not you.

Not bs on you....its a bs scam. This has come up before on the boards. Its just an attempt at extortion based on bullshit. Ignore it....once they see you're not gullible enough to fall for it...they'll move on.

Your business number and hobby number are the same hmmm. Burner phone burner apps all the ways to hide yourself these days. My question to everyone what are your favorite burner apps and are they all safe to use?

1. Get a hobby phone or burner phone, or use a fake number phone app like Google Voice.
2. Never use your work or personal phone (aka a phone your wife/SO knows you have) for any hobby activities, including texting, calling, web surfing, GPS/Maps, video viewing, etc. And never put hobby contacts in this phone.
3. If you did have an appointment with a provider which you cancelled, then got harassed, OUT her here. Profile name, TER ID, and if you used the same contact info that's on her profile.
4. If you never booked, or never cancelled and you get this activity - take screen shots of texts, keep any voice  mails, and log all the threats then call the local LE and forward copies of your evidence. And then report it here.
5. Google, Bing and other search engines are your friend. Looks like you already know this one. Use more than one, i.e.: search on Google and Bing to ensure you get a wide search.
6. If your hobby phone number gets compromised, kill it and get a new one.

Last, you said you got disturbing photos. Were they photos of you or places you live/visit? Or were they pics of others in some disturbing situations? If you or your locations aren't included, you already know it's a scam.

Life is good (if you take reasonable precautions)

Has come up on the boards several times over the past year. You might search for some of them and touch base with those that also experienced the problems.

In general they seem to be hoaxes rather than serious and if you just ignore them they go away.

If the threats are not stopping, report it to the police -- that type of crime is MUCH more interesting to police than a vice misdemeanor you might be exposing to them, though you don't have to admit to anything related to prostitution or solicitation.

You might also consider a burner phone/app to separate the business and entertainment communications so then you could block the unknown numbers.

I too get a ton of phone calls with unidentified #'s.  I won't answer those phone calls.  If the unknown caller wants to talk with me, he'll leave a message and then I call him back right away.  Most phone calls that are unsolicited won't leave a message and then I just block that caller.

I like to make note of the number and register it online with online colleges, extended car warranty, and life insurance inquiries. Takes a few minutes per number, but I know how they like to share numbers and relentless they can be. In my fantasies, it’s totally worth it. Fight fire with fire!
