do you guys use separate, "fake" email accounts for the hobby?

I tried contacting a provider with mine and after 1 reply, she hasn't messaged me back.  Maybe she thinks I'm a LEO.  :(

They are easy to set up and more difficult to trace. This has never been a problem. Unless you have one provider in your area, try her again and look for others.

I don't care about an email address as long as they screen out fine.

you might want to give her a few days. We all have separate lives outside of this and sometimes they do take precedence.

For example, I'm in finals at school. I haven't been checking my email very regularly lately and have been devoting the bulk of my time to my final papers and such. There are many providers who are also in the same boat right now.

Then again, it could also be your email. If you committed a cardinal sin in your opening email to the lady, she may just chuck you in the trash bin and forget about ever seeing you.

I would give her some time, try a polite follow up email and if nothing, then I would move on.

Yes, you absolutely need a separate private e-mail for the hobby.  The fact that you didn't initially may have given her the creeps!
One young provider (I'd seen her twice) pulled all her ads, may have quit the business after months of harrassment...  by a would be client.  She aswered his e-mail & it was a shared account.  The guys wife found it first, so he's getting a divorce & blaming the provider.
Guys, USE YOUR BRAIN!  It's our obligation to use only secure communication.

Even if you're single, it does not excuse sloppiness.  Imagine your boss, coworkers, etc finding out.

IMHO, more on to others for now & maybe come back to this one later.

Also get yourself a hobby phone, you'll need it & they're cheap.  If you can afford to hobby, you can afford a phone.

I don't use the credit card for gas or anything in places I'm not supposed to be.  I throw cash reciepts away in the bin outside the store.

When I started the hobby, I promised myself I'd not do anything stupid!  LOL!  As I have been a member here, I keep learning & redefining "stupid".  Hense my name:  shudaknownbetter.

Keep your email and phone seperate from your other life and use date request forms without avoiding questions when booking.

There are too many hazards out there these days to play coy.  She probably saw you'd used 2 email addresses and decided to move on.

Most of us have just as much to lose as you.

So some guy she knows nothing about emails her once... then emails her again- this time with "real" info... and you're wondering why she might think something is off? I'd suggest finding another provider and send her your real information the first time. We don't care what email address you use, but we do want to know that you are who you say you are.

I have no significant other to worry about getting caught so I don't use a fake email.  I have enough trouble keeping up with the one address I have.  To try juggling a hobby email and a real email, to me it's not worth it.

When I started I used one email and then switched to another to contact a provider and never heard back.  I concur switching and not giving all the reference info up front will get you no where.

I agree you really need a separate email account and separate phone.  Regarding the email account I use an off-shore web based account that cannot be traced easily and leaves nothing on my computer. Also have set things up on my computer to clean out any traces.

Also I use cash as much as possible and have separate accounts for my hobby that are totally un-linked to anything at home or work.  I'm sure I'm not doing enough as one can never be too careful.

Whether you want to use your private email address or set up an account just for hobbying (which is best), you need to send the information upfront. I cannot tell you how many times this past week I have had to email someone back three times to get what I need when I told him in my first reply. It's getting friggin' ridiculous.

This is what I get: "Hi, I love your pictures and wanted to know when you're available?" Well, of course this is okay to break the ice, but then I email in response, "I am available most of the week. It depends which day and what time you're looking for. I also need references from reputable providers with websites (please include their websites), your full name and a number to contact you. The latter also helps me to verify you with another lady."

Now, was that not clear? Geez! :)

Hugs,
ciara

but you would not know the diff.... as both are legit... it is just easier to keep stuff straight.... oh, on my hobbing account

I think that you may want to understand that ladies do not just sit around waiting to address your email...   I may ask a touring ladie if/when she is to visit my area... if she does not reply - I take that to mean - she ain't - no biggie....

If we see [email protected] we dont answer.. its probably a spammer- matter of fact- we dont even open it -

Does your email say [email protected] ... you are right- no one is answering you -

[email protected]..
Right again, we arent answering -

[email protected] goodluck with that one -

It just better be private.  No one else to read messages.
You don't use a work computer do you?  Where employers have the right to moniter use of their equipment...  even personal accounts, accessed through there.
