Aliases are absolutely necessary to use on RO board. Lets say I need to share some info about a provider that I am afraid of sharing using my real handle - afraid that the white knights and manginas would leak it to the ladies.
We all know how the RO board leaks like a sieve. Why not save ourselves some heartache by having some anonymity? After all, our TER ID is our persona on the boards...
Now, what I don't like aliases for is taking potshots at others...Now that's cheap. But some people will always abuse the system no matter what.
Also, if I may add..Aliases can be cleverly used to create humor...Has anyone noticed that this or any other board, as a matter of fact, are nearly not as funny as they were when we had unlimited aliases. Drunken Asian was a master at that !!! ![]()

It prevents me from asking personal questions. I have one alias, but, that alias has build a reputation. I do not want to stain that alias.
It prevents me from posting reviews with my alias. Again, that alias has a reputation, and I do not want to stain it.
As with many other users, some hobbyist and providers can identity your alias by your writing style. Sure, you can change your writing style, but, it is not always effective.
For several months now, I have several personal questions I like to pose, but, the limit of one alias prevented me from asking these questions. I feel that I am not a better hobbyist because of this. Without feedback, its useless to progress.
I thought the one use alias would be okay, but now, I find many flaws in this system. Perhaps adding two or even three alias would be okay. What's your experienced like so far with the one use alias? Do you experienced any flaws? If so, can you list them? Do you like the one use alias?
What purpose does the one use alias have? An alias is suppose to conceal my identity, however, having only one is not effective, so, what's the point of having an alias? I basically (figuratively) have two handles because of the one use alias.
She almost as hot as the 10, i fucked this weekend. ( on second thought, not even close )
I like to pose personal questions. I feel embarrassed to asked these questions, but, I know that these questions must be asked because it will benefit me in the future. I think that having a few alias is beneficial for the reasons I mentioned.
..Recently, I had something to post on RO board, and used my alias. It was sensitive information, but a few of the guys PMed my alias and were able to guess my real handle.
In the past, not only you could maintain a level of anonymity with the aliases, by using a new "throw away" alias to post sensitive information, but could also have lot of fun with aliases. Right now, I would rather post info using my real handle or not post at all, since what I have is useless.
TER needs to reinstate our unlimited aliases like before.
their one use alias. Like any other product, if the product doesn't delivered as expected, then why continue to support the product? Should they change, accommodate, or modify the product so it can get better? Why use the same feature that was proven to have flaws in it? I know I'm not the only one, and I'm sure TER gets feedback about this.
This site is suppose to be by the people, that is, the reviewers and hobbyist. Don't the reviewers and hobbyist financially contribute and support this site? Shouldn't our opinions and feedback count? I mean, if there is a majority consensus, should TER fix the problem? It doesn't make any sense to me to continue a feature that has flaws in it.
Some cars and product are recalled after it has been tested by the user and had flaws in it. TER has had their time to experiment with the one alias policy, and its not effective.
Here TER, if you think your one use alias is affective, then why won't you create a new poll on the affective use of the one use alias? Create a new poll, we have had the same poll for a while now. Once you see the percentages, then you can determine how favorable your one alias policy is.
I never agree with you McDonald, but I do this time. The one alias rule is a failure of epic proportions and has pissed many regular posters off to the point many have left or stopped posting. Unlimited aliases worked just fine, and if it wasn't broken I don't know why they messed with it. Lack of multiple aliases outs usernames, and limits speech.
i have been on ter quite awhile now..the thought of using an alias has never crossed my mind..why would i use it? to try to be someone im not? to try some devious shit? i can see the reasons some have to use them..i personally will never use one..i have no reason to..why have two handles and play the alter ego game when you can be yourself with just one..just my 2$

and i really don't care. I'm like London, if i got something to say, i'm gonna say it.
Your gonna be liked by some and hated by others....and on a fuck board where none of us REALLY know each other, i really don't care.
i fail to see the need for any alias, much less a ton of them. as a child i was taught if you wouldnt say it to someones face, there is no need to say it. obviously if one is so ashamed of what they are saying that they have to hide who they are, they would NEVER say it publicly to the faces of those they are hoping for responses from.
and what is a " better hobbyist"? im sorry, as i know this was meant to be a serious topic, but some of the shit said on here makes me laugh so hard it hurts.
I have the alias that I am using right now. Its not my real name. Its the name that I post under and write reviews with. I can send and recieve PM's using this alias.
If I click "Account Manager" - "More" - "My Alias" it shows the name I selected to use if I choose not to use my "PRIMARY" alias. I can also send and receive PM's with this alias. You just have to know how to send them to me. The envelope doesn't automatically appear next to my name when I post with this name.
Are you telling me you never selected a "second" alias?
Looks like you have been around only for a year or so, but as late as about 6 months ago or so, we were allowed to have as much aliases as we want. Now we can have 1 handle and 1 alias. What some of us are saying is that we need more than one (unlimited would be really nice) alias.

remember how they used to be abused. Guess if you are willing to own your posts then a handle and an alias are enough.
..sometimes you don't want to own it, because owning something means you might have troubles in the future. Read my post above for detailed explanation. Sometimes the information shared is more important than who is sharing it.
I also remember the side of them where you would have a minor derailment and some of the members would use their unlimited aliases to promote it to a major train wreck. Some of the attacks were pretty vicious.
Yep, I know you gotta wear your adult clothes to play on the GD board but some of what went on was puerile.
...well over 200, most used only once for a specific post and thread.
I lost several punchline aliases when it changed.
I write reviews using it, and I can receive/send PMs using it.
The only reason I use an alias instead of my regular handle is to weed out the fucktards that don't have VIP. If you can't afford the $30/month or so that it costs, then you have no business asking me for information.
And if you're too stupid to figure out how to search my reviews under my alias, then you should also avoid talking to me. ![]()
BTW, non VIPs can't PM period, so that part doesn't matter if you are an alias or not.
Who are too stupid to search by reviewer and too moronic to learn how to actually PM an alias.
With this one alias deal the entire followme family is still unemployed !
Thank yo u
2012 = 28
