The more mature the provider is, and the longer she has been a provider, seem to have a lot to do with her being able to compartmentalize work sex versus personal sex without any drama. On the other side, I have met several, mostly girls in the business only a year or two, that say if they have a RL relationship, it negatively affects their work because they are more reserved with their customers.  Some even feel like cheaters when they're working, so they say they just can't handle an SO while they're in this business.
