Prostitute Snorted Cocaine Off 2-Month-Old Son, Police Say
October 1, 2007 - 6:44PM

A 37-year-old prostitute from Saratoga Springs was arrested by Schenectady police Monday morning after a sting operation and subsequent investigation found that the woman performed sexual acts and consumed drugs in front of her children.

She was arrested for prostitution after offering to perform sex on an undercover police officer for money Monday, said Schenectady police.

After arresting her, detectives learned that her two children had been left with friends in a car nearby. Shortly thereafter, police found her five-year-old daughter and eight-week-old son in her car with two adults.

As detectives continued their investigation, they learned that she had been out all night smoking crack and snorting cocaine while in the company of her children.

she performed oral sex on at least two johns early Monday morning while her children were awake with her in the car's back seat.

Additionally, she snorted cocaine off her eight-week-old son's stomach while breastfeeding him.

As a result of these findings, police also charged her with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child and with one felony count of reckless endangerment.

she was arraigned Monday and is currently being held in Schenectady County Jail without bail. She is scheduled to appear Tuesday for further court proceedings.

Her children are in custody of family members, police said.

Four other women were arrested and charged with fourth-degree prostitution after offering to perform sex on an undercover officer for money:

All four women were arraigned Monday in Schenectady City Court and transferred to Scheneectady County Jail after having bail set.

from the pack.  I've never understood the mentality sometimes expressed on this board that our dear ladies are disposable.  They are not - many of them have kids - some have provided me with really useful child raising knowledge - some have shared with me the same concerns and worries that we all have.

they are not these sub-human beings that would expose their kids to drugs - and possibly worse.

Ladies - I sincerely hope that we as hobbiests are up to YOUR standards.

Thank-you Bizzaro.  Your posts have always been enlightening and heart felt.  I enjoy your presence on this board.
I was saddened however by the original post on this thread.  I know that the article was written about a situation that happens probably more than we know, and yes, this woman is most likely very un-well.  I am sad for her.  But also, I am sad that this kind of "publicity" is even repeated.
The story is obviously about someone that I don't know but it still perpetuates the idea of the supposed raunchiness of this business.  I wish that when these stories crop up in the mainstream media we could just ignore them and realize that they have nothing to do with the world of classy escorting.  And therefore don't need to be repeated on this board.
It's just a wish of mine.  I'm not expecting that everybody holds the same view as me.  But thought I could still express it.
Of course, everybody does probably agree with my sentiments about you, dear Bizzaro.

Why don't we write articles about ourselves and our disappointingly law-abiding lives... I'll start:

Abby Rode is a college educated Woman in her late twenties. She runs a fashion design firm and is looking forward to opening her first boutique soon. She is a very proud mother, and watches Sesame Street every day. Every so often she might get drunk on Italian beer and smoke a doobie with her best friend... She has a passion for cars and has a modest collection of old clunkers that she will lovingly restore in the coming years. She rarely answers her phone during sporting events, because she is too busy yelling and throwing the remote at the TV.

In public she appears calm and happy because she is. She has a habit of wearing scandalous bikinis at the beach, and drinking too much sangria at Sunday brunch. This causes her shoe addiction to surface, and anyone accompanying her will be subjected to shoe-shopping for the rest of the day.

Her taxes are paid (a little late this year) and she donates to charity. Travel plays a big part in her life and her daughter is the most well-traveled toddler you are likely to meet. She does worry a great deal about the environment and recycles everything. She has tons of great ideas on housing the homeless that she has no idea how to put into action.

She used to imagine a fabulous career as a lobbyist, and is still rather gifted in getting her way. Oh, she is a horrible driver and staunchly believes in ignoring speeding tickets, no matter what! After all, that money can be used to buy pie and ice cream (her favorite meal).

To me it seems she has a terrible drug habit and doesn't cares who she hurts.

If she wasn't on the drugs, she would NOT be doing what she did.

She will realize she did wrong and hopefully make some amends to herself and this kids.

What she did to the children is horrible, I really can't believe she did that.

Hopefully she will get some help with all of her problems.

You're just misguided, but she's a terrible mother!  She doesn't need help, she needs a prison... or a morgue.  Listen, I'm as liberal as the next guy.  But we have to draw the line somewhere.  What she did is disgusting.  I don't care about her drug problems.  If she's such a hardcore addict, she should take an hour or two out of her drug-fueled haze and find a responsible person and tell them to please raise her children for her because she can't do it herself.  Or leave them in front of an orphanage.  Or whatever.  Anything is better than what she did.

get the kids away from this person.  I've no (read zero) compassion for anyone who mistreats kids or innocent animals.  They - the kids and animals - did not ask to be put in that situation and worse, because of being put in that situation their life chances of a decent, productive and happy life are severly decreased.

Feel sorry for the mom!??? I do not think so...

She was nursing her baby while taking cocaine-- off the infant's belly. Now, nursing doesn't show an uncaring mother. And if drugs were the "milk" of her existence . . .  it does generally suggest some kind of drug-twisted affection, but you really can't say from just that.

We try to put these stories together from a few obscene snapshots. All you could say, it's morally ugly. It pisses me off.  I don't know from that description how she should be punished and/or rehabbed. It's one of those strange cases where if she meant well, it's almost worse.  How can you rehab her?  What will the children think of her as they grow up?

Tell me, zin, weren't you the same guy who talked about having child molestors put to death?  On August 30, your exact words were "I don't really care what causes it [pedophilia].  It's like that brown recluse spider I found in my sink.  Just kill it!"  Didn't you write this?  How exactly is child molestation better or worse than what this lunatic did?  She performed sexual acts with paying customers in front of her children, and then she snorted cocaine off an infant's stomach?  Are you kidding me?!?

If anything, what she did is actually WORSE, because she wasn't motivated by sexual urges beyond her control.  She could have at least put her son down before snorting the coke.  What's good for the goose should be good for the gander, right?  If you'd like to put some pervert to death for exposing himself to a child, then we should seek similar punishment for this woman for exposing her children to naked men and illicit drugs.  And if she's just mentally ill, then so are the child molestors, right?  Perhaps they should both just be "rehabbed."

This is nonsense.  You're just being lenient because she's a woman.  If she were a man, snorting coke off his infant son's belly, or performing sexual acts with a provider with his children in the car with him, you'd be asking for the death penalty too.  But since she's a woman, you say she could be rehabbed, and you ask for more facts before rendering judgement.  And who cares what the children will think of her when they grow up.  She needs to be prevented from causing more harm to them.  Sounds like you have a double standard.

Evidence is that the kid is getting a healthy dose of coke from his mom's use.  Truly not healthy for the kid.  To say nothing of the environment to which this behaviour exposes him.  Clearly, this is one of the reasons that K Fed. was given custody of Brits kids - (yet another manufactured pop icon).

As to your question "what will the children think of her as they grow up?" - you are of course making several assumptions - shall I provide a list...
1) unless the woman gets help and quick, she is destined to die soon (just from the problems associated with heavy drug use) so this kid will think - "I got a dead mother".

2) the kid may have been exposed to drugs in utero, which can damage or limit his mental capacity and predispose him to drug use him/herself.... in which case this kid will think - "duhhhhhh......"

3) The kid will be neglected - and on a hot day will be left in a car with the windows rolled up while mom goes to get her next hit.... in which case the kid will think "...."

4) The kid will somehow manage to be "captured" by child protection services and placed in a foster home and feel rejected and disposable in which case the kid will think "my mom is a S**T"

there are other scenarios - that are probable to be played out... but you get the drift... in short, take the kid away from the mom... at least that way he has a chance at life.

Also, I said only that I was baffled by her behavior, not that I wasn't disgusted, not that it wasn't terrible.

Sex with children present is seriously wrong, but it's not on the same order as rape. Exposing children to drugs is wrong too, but still not on the same order as molestation. Period. No, I wouldn't put a guy to death for indecent exposure to children. Child rape and child murder are about five orders of magnitude worse, can you understand that?  Whether perpetrator is a man or woman, it makes no difference to me.

As for putting child molesters to death, (male or female) my actions if I were considering it on a jury would be completely different from the total rage I would feel at say catching somebody in the act, or hearing about it in my neighborhood. I would have to consider justice and the safety of the community on a jury. I would try to be disciplined and to think rationally about it then. But in a "hot" moment, would I really care why he does it? No.

You see, my rage is not justice; it doesn't grant justice. That's not the way that emotion functions. The brown recluse spider I find in the bathtub gets killed, the one I see on the sidewalk gets left alone. Just so, I wish there were a cure for pedophilia. Once a child is molested though, I really don't have a choice about being enraged.

Here I'll admit I don't feel the same total rage I would feel for a child molester-- because she didn't molest her children. Nor even what I would feel for abandonment, because she didn't abandon them, either, as many drug addled parents do. It's one of those areas where I feel emotionally baffled. It's offensive and disgusting enough, but I don't wish her death over it. Society agrees: She will be punished and/or rehabilitated. That was not only my opinion, but it's realistic. Still, it was drug-addled, perverted evil, but I don't stop my analysis at the conclusion that she's evil. I have to understand it further. It doesn't give me any respect for it, but it gets my curiosity.

Death penalty: I do assent to the death penalty for raping and murdering a child, no matter which gender perpetrates it. I don't see that as a matter of justice, but also of public safety.

Lastly, as for her having a choice, perhaps she had a choice before the drugs were in her body, but after the fact she's on the same playing field as a pedophile. Could she have foreseen before her binge that she would end up doing those things?

There was a political campaign about a year or so ago, that criticized the candidate Judy Baar Topinka.  They'd tell people about something she plans to do (such as tax cuts for the rich, or eliminating financial aid for the poor).  At the end, they'd say: "What's she thinking?"

But since they stopped showing these commercials long time ago, I guess not everybody remembers them.

Not going to get into any drama, but I wanted to point out that while pedophilia may be "sexual urges beyond one's control" as you point out, drug addiction is also a very strong urge and an illness. In fact, while pedophilia is a strong psychological urge, and depending on your perspective a pathology or mental illness, drug addiction is all these things plus a physical urge due to brain chemistry, withdrawal syndrome, etc. So while both people with pedophilia and people with drug addictions may do things we find repulsive, we can't really judge which is "worse," and we don't know what we would do if placed in their shoes. I am just as disgusted as anyone else here, and feel that harming those who cannot defend themselves (such as children and animals) is one of the most despicable acts imaginable, but rather than judge the people as "bad" or "evil" without examining the context, we need to acknowledge the cause and address what we can do to prevent such things and to protect those who may be in harms way. Just my .02
