I don't hobby a lot but am wondering when you email a provider, especially someone new, how long do you give her to respond before you move on?  I know that everyone has other priorities or may be on vacation or their computer is down, etc., but I thought I would see what others thought.

Depends on how far out the day is I'm trying to fill combined with how high the provider I'm emailing is on my "to see" list.

If the day is coming up very soon, I give her 24 hours then move on, and if she replies after I've filled my time, I talk to her about my next available time!

It the day is a week or so off and she is high on my list, then I give her 2-3 days!

Most providers jump right on an email if they are available, and if the reply is slow, there is a reason- either not available, out of town, swamped with emails... whatever.  You are certainly not under any obligation to hold time open for someone who hasn't replied!

Since I usally make my plans way ahead of time, I tend to give a lady plenty of time to check me out. (2 days) If I haven't heard back, I'll try another email. If after another day or so, I still haven't heard back, then I'll move on. Being a little impatient has bitten me in the ass a couple of times, and I've had to write some apologies. When the first lady finally contacts you, and you've already made a date with another, it's just common courtesy to let the first one know.

I totally agree with your response. Before I had an assistant, I checked my email twice a day. Now she checks it throughout the day.

I would give it 24hours and then move on depending on when you are looking to book an appt. If it is a week away then give it longer.
